@Ravenclaw87 @billie11 thanks so much for your replies. I've been worrying about it but if a few of us have it must be quite common, which is a relief. I haven't had a c-section before, this is my first, so hope that helps things move upwards!

I didn't get much info on it at the scan, is there anything I should/shouldn't be doing?

Magpie24 · 23/06/2018 20:00

Oh and p.s. we're having a girl :)

Ravenclaw87 · 23/06/2018 20:05

@Magpie24 nothing in particular to do differently. If you have any bleeding to contact maternity assessment same as you would anyway. There’s a page all about it in the pregnancy info book that my hospital provided to me at booking. I can screen shot it and PM it to you if you like?

Magpie24 · 23/06/2018 20:28

That would be great! Not sure how to access messages as am on the app but send over and I will figure it out. Thank you.

moomoo85 · 24/06/2018 15:38

Sorry have been MIA for a bit. The thread dropped off my watched threads some how!

I had my 20 week scan on friday and all looked good. I have an anterior placenta which is probably why the movements aren't as strong this time around (I can still feel them they just seems a bit blunted). We are staying team yellow.

MiniMinions · 25/06/2018 20:54

Glad all good @moomoo85 I've also got anterior placenta this time around

Countrymouse82 · 25/06/2018 21:10

Hi everyone, sorry for being awol! Had a couple of busy weeks at work followed by a a week on hols. So lovely seeing all of the scan pictures come through - I can’t believe how quickly the last month has gone.

@amarettoplease @sarahhh1984 Thanks so much for the links/advice on maternity bras, I’ve invested in a couple and they are ridiculously comfortable - I’m never going to want to go back to underwired ones!

@marmitericecakes Congratulations on your twins! Hope your self assessment is going smoothly. I work from home and just discovered the simplified expenses option for home office/car which will save SO much time!

We had our 20 week scan today and despite lots of nerves (had a mmc last year) all went smoothly. Little one had their arms crossed across its face so all I could see was the tip of a nose and a top lip. Our hospital also had a sign up saying that they don’t tell you whether it’s a boy or girl so we’re a slightly reluctant team yellow for the moment!

marmitericecakes · 25/06/2018 21:28

Ah @Countrymouse82 glad your scan went well! I've got mine on Wednesday. Like you, I'm apprehensive about what that will bring but equally I'm excited to see the twins again - and hopefully make this all a bit more real.

I am waiting for my MatB1 form (do you get that at 20 weeks?) and then I'll do my self assessment and claim for maternity pay.

It's lovely to see everyone's scan pictures and know that the pregnancies are progressing well.

I must quickly add I've got physio booked in a couple of weeks but in the meantime I bought a Serola Belt on eBay and it's made such a huge difference I wanted to recommend it to anyone suffering with back or pelvic pain.

pipsqueak126 · 26/06/2018 14:00

I'll be staying here, I'm putting off going back on Facebook as long as I can - one of my friends says its invaluable for looking up local baby things / people / stuff to buy, but that's not enough of a draw for me at the moment, I'm hoping that the people I meet through antenatal etc will be enough of a resource!

I bought a load of maternity clothes at the weekend (New Look has some great tshirts in!) and it's starting to feel a bit more real. I keep thinking I feel a kick / flutter but only time will tell if they get stronger! Still pretty sure it's just wind...

intelligentPutty · 26/06/2018 22:32

@pipsqueak126 did you go online. I went into a new look store which always used to have maternity and there was nothing. I guess they must do it online only now. ;(

Not that it's a problem I order most stuff online! And then return it. Feeling sooo big at the moment. Just feel fat! But have definite bump. But feel like I look 30 weeks rather than 20!

I know what you mean about fb. I've joined the group and am checking in every so often. It IS great for baby stuff / things / events / groups etc. But I have felt SO much calmer in myself not using it these last few months!
@marmitericecakes have a good scan tomorrow. ;) will be so good for u to see them again. Are you finding out sex?
We have 20 week scan on Friday afternoon.

marmitericecakes · 26/06/2018 23:09

Off to bed now. Will update after the scan tomorrow morning. @intelligentPutty we're not going to find out the sex but I'm excited to see the babies and hope we can get a picture of them together as I forgot to ask for one at the 12 week scan!

pipsqueak126 · 27/06/2018 12:01

@intelligentPutty No, we've a big New Look and H&M in Cheltenham with maternity sections so I went in store. Good items in the sale too! Although I bit gutted I didn't get the 'Santa Baby' jumper I saw, but I'm hoping that with a 9th Nov due date, I won't be needing Christmas maternity wear!

Good luck with everyone's scans, I wish I could go again to see the little one!

marmitericecakes · 27/06/2018 18:47

Anomaly scan went really well today. Lasted an hour because it's seemingly quite complicated to get all the measurements for two babies! It was fairly uncomfortable because it went on so long but was really reassuring. Everything is looking good and there's only 1.4% difference in size between the babies.

I also had my cervix measured to see if I was eligible for a trial to help prevent pre-term birth but it turns out I can't participate as my cervix is so long early onset of labour is highly unlikely so that's positive!

Hope everyone's coping ok in the heat!

Eminybob · 28/06/2018 08:27

Hi, I’m a bit late to the party but have just discovevered this thread.
I’m due no 2 on 24th November. I’ve added my details to the spreadsheet.

I’ve been having a read through, I’m glad anomaly scans are going well, mine is due on 10th July. I can’t wait, I’ve been paranoid at every stage of this pregnancy so far, already been in for an emergency check once due to anxiety so it’ll be nice to have peace of mind that everything is ok.

Looking forward to getting more updates as we go along.

NoCatsHere · 28/06/2018 12:54

Hi everyone, nothing exciting to report. 19+1 today and have my scan next tuesday - same as you i think mayah. It's nice and early at 9.30 so i don't have to wait long.

tiny i know what you mean time is slow again. I know if all is well at the 20 week scan i'll finally relax and then it'll just fly by!

countrymouse glad your scan went well, what a relief! I too had a mmc last year and keep expecting the worst at every milestone.

eminybob welcome! never too late to join the party!

Kt2108 · 28/06/2018 13:32

Had my 20 wk scan yesterday! All good except think we saw some bits we didn't want to haha🤷🏼‍♀️
Did get told I have a low lying anterior placenta though- is that two different things? I know anterior cushions your tummy a bit but it is always low? Confused a bit and the little leaflet didn't answer much- just terrified me!

LastNightsMakeUp · 28/06/2018 16:08

@Kt2108 Anterior means that your placenta is sitting at the front (your belly side) rather than posterior which is at the back towards your back. I think it's about 50/50 in having anterior or posterior. If it's anterior you may feel more muffled movements. Mine is low lying too (but posterior), so means it's at the bottom/ close to or over the cervix. It usually moves on its own, I'm having a repeat scan at 32 weeks to check its position. If it were still in that position nearer delivery date they'd recommend a c section (which I'm hoping for anyhow).

We found out we were team blue as well today 💙, was pretty obvious we were definitely team blue even before she'd confirmed it.

Kt2108 · 28/06/2018 21:23

@lastnightsmakeup
Ah thank you! I knew about the two different aspects but not whether they came together haha- was a bit taken aback so didn’t ask.

Congrats on team blue! I think I saw something on the scan but the midwife assured me she hadn’t? Not sure if that was just so I didn’t assume it was a boy, though. X

sarahhh1984 · 28/06/2018 22:40

Hi ladies, glad the scans are all going well!

@Kt2108 I have an anterior placenta as well except mine's high up so it's cushioning kicks at the front and top of my uterus. Means I'm only feeling baby move when she's at the sides or low down at the moment. As @LastNightsMakeUp says, they tend to move on their own but if you have any concerns, give your mw a call to put your mind at ease.

mrsmistergav · 30/06/2018 10:49

I have my mental health midwives appointment on Wednesday and it took me over 20 minutes to find a parking space which has left me feeling frazzled and just wanting to go home and hide for the rest of the day. I was in tears not being able to find a space which is so unlike me, there is a joke among friends that it's my husband who has the emotions in our relationship. I'm just feeling so lost at the moment. I feel I'm losing my identity with this pregnancy. I've been signed off for 2 weeks from work as I spent all of Wednesday crying. They've started me in mitazipine to help me sleep. 3 nights of decent sleep has helped but I'm still feeling really lost. Am I the only one feeling like this? I'm scared they will get safeguarding in place. Anxious about everything. I hate feeling like this. Sorry for the rant

rockabyedaydrop · 01/07/2018 10:25

Hi everyone and congratulations!!

I'm pretty sure I introduced myself at the beginning but haven't been back for quite a while due to terrible HG. Luckily for me it seems to have cleared up and I'm backSmile

Could anyone help me with adding my details to the spreadsheet? It won't give me the option to amend.

Shrimpi · 01/07/2018 11:50

Sorry I got very busy and sort of dropped off the thread a long while ago! Congratulations everyone!!

Our anomaly scan was all good and we're having a boy.

@mrsmistergav

That sounds really hard. I'm so sorry things are difficult for you. You aren't alone, anxiety and anxiety disorders are really common in pregnancy and many women need medication and help for those.

You don't need to be worried about safeguarding! Anxiety is hard for you, but it's not hard on your baby and you are still being and will be a great mum. Your midwife will be so pleased you are proactive and getting the help you need. Good luck with your appointment x

Shrimpi · 01/07/2018 12:00

I have struggled with not feeling well all pregnancy. The sickness and exhaustion did not tail off until 16-18 weeks and unfortunately I vommed just the other day (did seem to be a one off fortunately) and I'm 20 weeks! Also I feel so bloated and stretched. I hate the little bloaty/squidgy bit that has formed above the "bump". Basically, I just feel fat and blobby. Back and hip and tummy pains are there, but fortunately very bearable atm.

And it's only going to get so much worse!!!

I'm going to start walking and swimming and yoga as much as possible. Having completely lost any fitness I had to the "morning" sickness and exhaustion can't be helping.

My sympathies to everyone else going through their own struggles with pregnancy! It's really rather horrible isn't it.

At least it is exciting to have seen the baby again, to know it is a boy, to think of a name etc. My husband is clearly getting more and more excited and he's being quite romantic about it. He's spurring me on!

NoCatsHere · 03/07/2018 11:40

shrimpi sorry you're not feeling tip top. Its hard i think the changing body shape, some days i feel great and people will also say i'm looking good and then other days other people always comment how big my bump is and I'm like of just f-off! Swimming sounds like a really good idea, i want to start that too and I've always enjoyed pregnancy yoga.

mrsmistergav i'm sorry you're feeling like that. but i think please don't be worried about later on. the fact you are seeking help is amazing, and so positive for you and the baby. your 'mum instincts' are there already and you're clearly getting help, so that amazing. Please do keep talking, to us, the midwife anyone you can - i really believe the talking will help.

NoCatsHere · 03/07/2018 11:43

I had my 20 week scan this morning, all went well, results are within normal ranges. I cannot tell what a relief it is, i felt it was my final hurdle for getting past the previous 2 mc worries. I am excited finally now to actually think of names, and look at baby things we might need that we haven't already got. Oh and we're remaining team yellow!
