Congratulations @MiniMinions! I feel the same about DD's clothes... Just have to sort through them all now to weed out the ones that won't be appropriate (DD was a spring baby so a lot of her clothes are little dresses as we had a heatwave shortly after she was born!).

Just had my appointment through to speak to a consultant/clinician about having an ELCS. Will be on 16 July so not long to wait at all. Just counted and I'll be 23+4 then. This pregnancy is flying by!

MiniMinions · 19/06/2018 20:37

Glad you've got your appointment @sarahhh1984 and yeah I agree time does seem to be moving quickly at the mo but I am wondering if going to slow down again now as less appointments (have got consultant one next week then midwife in August!!!)

MiniMinions · 20/06/2018 08:56

Just wondering if anyone else has started feeling rubbish again at 20 weeks? yesterday and today i feel like I am going to throw up and keep getting flushes!

sarahhh1984 · 20/06/2018 09:27

Sorry you're feeling rubbish @MiniMinions. I'm 19+6 and although I haven't had a return of any sickness/nausea I've definitely felt a reduction in my energy levels over the last few days. Also quite achey and just generally fatigued. If I remember rightly, baby goes through a bit of a growth spurt around now-ish so maybe that's causing it?

NoCatsHere · 20/06/2018 09:45

I’m not quite as far along as you mini so nothing has come back for me, sorry you’re feeling rubbish. I’m only 18 weeks today. I really hoped to be feeling more movement by now but still nothing I can really say is baby moving. It makes me anxious but I hoping it’s all ok.

I have two boys and they are really sweet together despite a largish age gap, it’s nice to see them play together. I’d quite like this one to be a boy too so they can all get up to mischief together!!

Magpie24 · 20/06/2018 11:21

All good in the 20 week scan today with the baby, although I have a low lying placenta. Does anyone have any experience of this?

MiniMinions · 20/06/2018 14:43

Am feeling a bit better now the day has progressed so wondering if it is a morning sickness type thing making a come back. I am shattered though!
@NoCatsHere I am looking forward to having another boy, I can imagine them getting up to lots of mischief!
@Magpie24 Glad to hear scan went well today. I haven't got experience of low lying placenta I am afraid, mine is at the front so have been told may feel less movement

Mayah · 20/06/2018 19:51

Some beautiful scan pictures, congratulations guys!! Half way there now. My scan is next Tuesday and it couldn't come fast enough.

@MiniMinions I'm 20 weeks now and my morning sickness has come back when I brush my teeth. I was so happy to see the back of that! And the flushes!? Only seem to happen early in the day but I feel hot, out of breath and panicky.

And does anyone else have pain under their boob when they sit down? It started around 12/13 weeks for me as a numb sensation but now it's more of a painful ache. I have to massage the pain away when I'm sitting and I just look like a right weirdo at work Grin

TinyPawz · 21/06/2018 15:35

Only over 18 weeks here, 2 weeks for scan and cannot wait. Hopefully will be able to see the flavour, if not will book a gender scan. Still feeling exhausted. Was hoping that the second trimester would bring some energy back but no such luck

pipsqueak126 · 21/06/2018 17:59

20 weeks tomorrow! In one sense feels like a massive milestone, on the other hand having 20 weeks left is quite a long time! I had my scan on Monday, all good and we're officially team yellow (keeping it a secret anyway!). I feel that I have got a lot more energy now, but that lulled me into a false sense of security when I thought I could carry a load of shopping back from town the other day, it wiped me out for the rest of the afternoon! Still getting sick though - I've tried the odd day without taking the anti nausea tablets but it's definitely still around.

I started pregnancy yoga last week which has been great. It's really nice to meet other pregnant ladies, and most of the session is having a gossip and getting some good advice, which feels more like an anti natal class than an exercise group!

Really good to see people on here mentioning whooping cough vaccines - my midwife didn't mention it (that I can remember!) so I asked my MW friend and she confirmed it's needed. Would be nice for them to remind you, or tell you, just some prompt! Hopefully I can get it on the same day as my next appt (25 weeks) so as not to disrupt work too much... Luckily now everyone in the office knows though so I can finally wear all the comfy clothes!

No movements yet, but I'm not expecting to after seeing the size of my front lying placenta on the scan! It's about the same size as the baby, it'll do well to kick through that!

Also, nesting instinct has kicked in and we're getting both the bathroom and our bedroom done within the next two months. After that, I can start to think about the nursery and buying stuff, but until then it'll just add to the chaos! Bit concerned that a John Lewis is opening in time for my maternity leave, only a 5 min walk from my house... I might need to get my credit card locked away!

intelligentPutty · 21/06/2018 22:31

John Lewis 5 minutes walk away is very dangerous. At least it's close to return stuff!!!
I've just started pregnancy yoga too. Really nice and relaxing. Might continue that once baby is here too.

intelligentPutty · 21/06/2018 22:32

Can someone point me towards Facebook group. Feel like I need to start using fb again now baby becoming more real and need to get involved in all the baby things.
FB really is the best way for that.

sarahhh1984 · 22/06/2018 08:21

Morning ladies, is everyone disappearing to FB? I don't use it so hoping some of you will be sticking around here.

Had awful evening. About 5pm started getting shooting pains in my back from my kidneys spreading down through my hips. Rang the hospital and mw told me to take some paracetamol and give it an hour. She said if pain went away then to take a urine sample to GP to rule out a UTI, but if pain didn't go away then to come in to be checked.

Anyway, was in there for hours as doctors had to deal with a few emergencies first (which is fair enough). Eventually got seen at 10.30pm and turns out I'm beginning to get pelvic girdle pain. Didn't get this in last pregnancy which is why I didn't recognise the sensation.

Got sent home with a packet of codeine, a leaflet full of exercises and a giant tubigrip to wear for support... Sexy... And just what I want when weather is set to get hotter again!

To top it off, my early pregnancy fatigue seems to have made a mid-pregnancy reappearance so feel wiped! Thankfully DM and DF took DD to stay at theirs when I went in to hospital yesterday so able to take it easy this morning.

Hope everyone else is fairing better than I am.

LastNightsMakeUp · 22/06/2018 09:39

@sarahhh1984 I find fb much easier to follow a conversation and thread so have found I've been using that more, still hanging round here too though 😊

Sorry to hear about your pains. Did they give you any other advise? I've been having bad SI joint pain and went to an osteopath who basically told me to rest and do nothing (no exercise, no lifting dd etc - all impossible and to me sounded counterintuitive) so I went and saw a physio who specialises in women's reproductive health on Wednesday for a second opinion - it was the best £60 I've ever spent!
Ignore of not applicable but this is the advise I was given that seems to be helping - Ice it as much as possible when having flare ups - no heat.
Pelvic floor engagement - she scanned my abdo muscles with an ultrasound and went through some exercises to target specific muscle layers to help to protect my back/SI joint - it's mainly engaging the pelvic floor when bending down, rolling in bed, picking up dd, standing up or sitting down. It's feeling lots better already. She also massaged both my hips and up my back to loosen the muscles which seems to have made a big difference.
I'm seeing her again in just over a week and she said if it's not much improved then there are lots of other steps that can be taken before having to wear a support belt etc - and that support belt should be the last resort esp as I'm only half way through the pregnancy.
She said to expect recurrences of the more intense pains when the baby has a growth spurt or there is a hormone surge and then just to go back to ice and the basics for a few days.
I had this pain towards the end of my pregnancy with dd but it started at about 13 weeks this time and have been getting a lot more upper back pain and headaches with it (with tight muscles trying to compensate and no doubt having a toddler to run around/wrestle.)
Hope that helps, would definitely recommend getting to a physio if you can, I'm sure you can get a referral from your GP in the longer term but would be good if you could see someone quickly to get on top of it. I was so immobile due to the pain last time it was horrible xx

LastNightsMakeUp · 22/06/2018 09:41

Sorry @sarahhh1984 that was a bit of en essay... even I was bored reading it back.

Also don't know if it's applicable to you but one piece of advise the osteopath gave to me was to avoid flip flops or backless shoes (which I live in) and that has definitely made a massive difference.

TinyPawz · 22/06/2018 09:43

I'll still be here, not posting much because nothing much it happening. Waiting on anomaly scan. Time seems to have slowed down

Melaniesunflower · 22/06/2018 21:27

I've lost the details on how to find the fb group......help. I'd blame baby brain, but this isn't unusual for me 😕

MiniMinions · 22/06/2018 22:04

@sarahhh1984 ouchie! Hope you can get some support for that. I've joined fb group but also on here too 😊 I'm also struggling with tiredness again, the sickness I had in the week has subsided thankfully though.

@pipsqueak126 I've signed up for yoga starting in July - I'm not very flexible or bendy but DS destroyed my back in labour and never been the same again and suffer with it and it causes problems in feet/walking pain so hoping it will help!! Thanks for reminder re whooping cough jab I had it last time and will again this time - will ask at consultant appt.

@LastNightsMakeUp interesting re icing not heat - forgot I used to do that when played sport - can we use deep freeze gel?

Glad it's the weekend, busy one planned but also got a shed load of marking to get done for final student reports too ughhhh

intelligentPutty · 22/06/2018 22:35

If I manage to join fb group I certainly won't leave this thread. I've not used fb for months now but it is useful for baby groups and baby events in local area.

Looking forward to a tiny lie in tomorrow! Been a long week. Feeling baby move every so often too. Is everyone else. I went into a small panic a couple of days ago as I thought it had stopped but me was really good and let me come to the mw unit so they can check all ok etc. It was Grin

Would highly recommend the yoga to anyone. I feel so calm and relaxed afterwards.

pipsqueak126 · 22/06/2018 23:20

@miniminions don't worry you don't have to stand on your head! In fact it's totally different to any yoga I've done before, except the breathing bit. Of course all classes may be different, but mine is just about making birth easier and focusing on how pregnancy affects your body. And relaxation! The leader even warns us if we're about to do anything that might be construed as hippyish, so we can take it with a pinch of salt if we'd prefer!

MiniMinions · 23/06/2018 08:41

@pipsqueak126 that's good to know haha hopefully the one I've signed up to won't be too hippy either but then again might be some light relief half way through a busy week hehe

MiniMinions · 23/06/2018 09:03

Oh I picked up 2 maternity wide strapped vest tops at Lidl for £6 👍🏻

sarahhh1984 · 23/06/2018 09:53

@LastNightsMakeUp Thank you so much for all that advice! Really appreciate the time you took to do that. I've been using ice and have also not bothered with the big tubigrip. Tried it for one hour yesterday and it just made me more uncomfortable.

At pregnancy yoga on Monday so going to ask my instructor to take me through some exercises as I've seen her do with other ladies. Also seeing my chiropractor on Tuesday so I'm going to get some advice off her too. I occasionally suffer with hip pain anyway as a result of a childhood injury so she's been able to help with that in the past and she was really good during my last pregnancy. But if I'm still no better I'll speak to our health insurance about getting me to a physio.

Doctor said he thinks the PGP I have is hormonal rather than constant. So I'll get flare ups when baba is having a growth spurt and my hormone levels rapidly change. Although I've ordered some maternity knickers for a bit of extra support just in case!

Ravenclaw87 · 23/06/2018 16:22

Hi everyone,
I’m staying here rather than on Facebook.
My scan was last Friday and all well with baby. We are team yellow. Bump seems huge already, painted my nails last week, think that will be the last time I can reach to do that!

@magpie24 I also have a low placenta, they’ll rescan me at 32 weeks. If you haven’t had a previous c-section 8-9/10 will move up as your uterus grows. I haven’t had any bleeding so feeling confident it will move fingers crossed!

billie11 · 23/06/2018 19:57

Not really posted on here yet but been dipping in and out. 21 weeks and due 1st Nov, team yellow as well Smile

@Magpie24 @Ravenclaw87 I'm in the low lying placenta club too. High chance it will move, another scan at 36 weeks for me to see if it has. Think it's just wait and see unfortunately. X
