BunBunMum · 25/04/2018 19:02

So sorry to those who haven’t had good news or are going through worrying times.

Welcome to the newbies!

Can’t remember who said they were anxious but I’m extremely so. I hold my breath every time I go to the loo. I’m 9 weeks today and my last loss was 8+4 but I’m scared whether everything will be ok & there will be a baby there at the scan

GreenMeerkat · 25/04/2018 20:33

Anyone been on one of those nub theory groups?

Put my scan pic on two of them and every reply I've had says boy! Wonder how much accuracy there is in that.

sarahhh1984 · 25/04/2018 21:07

@GreenMeerkat I used nub theory with DD's scan. It suggested she was a girl and turned out to be right. But I had a a 50/50 chance of being right so I wouldn't take that as gospel!

TheUbercornMum · 25/04/2018 21:36

Ooh I love nub theory and love working it out. Got DD right first time but I also had a strong hunch but didn't have a clue this time as the pictures weren't very good, so I couldn't tell (apart from a feeling and when harmony test confirmed it!).

I do believe in hunches though.... What is you hunch?

sarahhh1984 · 25/04/2018 21:41

@TheUbercornMum With DD I just knew she was a girl from the moment I got my BFP. Don't know why, I just knew. She was a girl in every single dream I had too. Never once believed she was a boy. This time I have no feeling about it whatsoever really. Some days I think it's a boy and others it's a girl. Hoping I'll get a stronger feeling either way when I see my scan on Friday.

This time I will be finding out at 20-week scab though so I'll know then. With DD we didn't find out until she was born.

sarahhh1984 · 25/04/2018 21:42

*scan, not scab! 😂

Emelene · 25/04/2018 21:46

@sarahhh1984 - I have such a strong hunch my baby is a boy and so does my husband! We'd be happy with either but it'll be interesting to see what happens. Smile

I'm feeling anxious but excited before my scan tomorrow and trying to stay positive. Smile

MiniMinions · 25/04/2018 21:48

Just off to bed as shattered. Scan all good baby measuring correct, all legs and arms present and nuchal reading in normal range this time phew!! Still did the bloods for downs etc though.

Good luck to those with scans tomorrow

MeredithShepherd · 26/04/2018 05:50

I knew DS was a boy from tha very beginning. When they told me at my 20 week scan that he was indeed a boy (and proud Blush) I said I already knew!
This time I have no feelings whatsoever. Happy with either but if I’m honest would probably prefer another boy! Although DP would like a girl.
My scan is at 1.50pm today, so glad I’m going to work this morning so I’m not getting myself worked up about it!

sarahhh1984 · 26/04/2018 06:13

Congratulations @MiniMinions!

Good luck today @MeredithShepherd! I think I'd slightly prefer another girl but really I'm happy with either. Think DH is the same. Would love DD to have that close relationship with a sister that so many of my friends have with theirs. But, ultimately, as long as he or she arrives safely and healthily, that's all I really care about.

GreenMeerkat · 26/04/2018 06:19

Congratulations @MiniMinions

DD1 hunch was girl and I was right
DD2 hunch was boy which was obviously wrong

This one I don't know really. I think my gut is saying boy but I'm not really listening as I don't want to get my hopes up. I won't be disappointed at all if it's a girl but would like a boy as we don't have one and this will (definitely this time!) be our last baby!

Saraswati · 26/04/2018 06:20

Good luck to those with scans today!

I knew dd was a girl from bfp I just had a very strong feeling. I didn't find out the sex at 20 weeks but felt like I didn't need to! I don't have a strong feeling with this one and after this week I'll just be glad to get a baby that's alive. However everyone who knows so far is referring to it as a boy and I keep on reminding dp not to say he all the time. We have a boys name decided but not idea about a girls name!

MeredithShepherd · 26/04/2018 06:28

We are the opposite @Saraswati we have a girl name but not a boy name!

sarahhh1984 · 26/04/2018 06:44

We're the opposite too, @Saraswati. We have a definite girl's name picked and have had that picked since DD was a few weeks old. But with a boy we have two or three names and we're as yet undecided. Think we're waiting on 20-week scan since, if it's a boy we'll have to thrash it out as we each have favourites. Don't want to argue about that just to find out we're having a girl! 😂

olderthanyouthink · 26/04/2018 06:45

@BunBunMum I'm with you on holding you breath when you go to the loo!

Congrats @MiniMinions 😊

BF and I think is a boy but call it by a feminine name and say 'she' all the time Confused. Technically we should be right either way

Scan and blood tests at 11:30 😭😭😭😭😭 will cry and scream and whimper and wail ☹️

Hope it goes well, @olderthanyouthink. Will be thinking of you. Just focus on the fact that despite the blood tests you will get to see your little baba on the screen.

olderthanyouthink · 26/04/2018 07:10

Thanks @sarahhh1984
I always feel really bad about walking out of a hospital crying. One time someone stopped me and asked if I was ok then told me to have a drink when I said about needles.

I just really hope baby's ok in there, I swear I know too much about all the things that go wrong with humans. I envy my BFs ignorance.
