@marajade12 keeping all things crossed that it's something and nothing x

Welcome to all the newcomers 👋🏻

12w scan later today and am so worried as last time had high NT etc and then had the talk about the different syndromes etc which put a big downer on it all.

Emelene · 25/04/2018 08:21

@MeredithShepherd and @olderthanyouthink - I have my scan tomorrow too! I think it's normal to be nervous, I had a slight "moment"on Sunday sobbing that the baby might not be ok, etc. I think my hormones are raging! And it's a reasonable thing to want your baby to be okay. Any tips for making the time go?

I've been trying to keep busy at work and I'm seeing friends tonight (who don't know yet) so I'm hoping tomorrow will come quickly. Smile

I'm thinking of everyone who's scan hasn't been straightforward, I hope you get some answers soon and have lots of support around you. Thanks

Welcome to newbies Smile

Hugs to those with worries. Wishing you all the best. Thanks

Forgot to say - sonographer said yesterday that my placenta is at the front and that this means I will feel less movement. Does anyone have any previous experience of this?

TinyPawz · 25/04/2018 09:12

With my DD11 her placenta was at the front and the only movement I ever felt was when she hiccuped. She had reduced fluid so there was very little for her to move about in anyway. She hiccuped at least 5 times a day so knew she was perfectly safe in there

TinyPawz · 25/04/2018 09:44

Well scan was grand. Thank goodness. Baby measuring 9w3. Heartbeat 171, waving arms and kicking legs. So I can relax for another wee while. Picture was very fuzzy on print out though.

LastNightsMakeUp · 25/04/2018 09:50

@TinyPawz yey! What a relief for you. Great news x

Pumpkin2018 · 25/04/2018 10:53

Great news @Tinypawz

@marajade12 sorry to hear about your scan, hopefully you'll get some answers tomorrow. I'm I right in thinking your in Leeds? The LGI has a specialist children's heart unit if anything is wrong with baby and should be able to give you the beat care possible.

TheUbercornMum · 25/04/2018 11:23

@marajade hope the fluid on the scan turns out to be nothing.

@MeredithShepherd and @olderthanyouthink I was petrified for my 12w scan and all was fine. I'm now anxious again waiting for the next scan! I think it's normal, tbh I hate the whole worrying part of pregnancy, the unknown just sets me off.

@olderthanyouthink re the spotting it wasn't nr followed up, I've had it twice this pregnancy. The midwife said it just can happen sometimes and it's very normal in the first trimester and because it wasn't red I shouldn't get worried. I've since had a normal scan at 12w and no sign on that scan or the early one I had. Same with my DD.

@GiveMummyTheWhizzer last time my placenta was at the front and I still felt loads of movement. In fact my DD was so active at times I often wn wondered if I'd ever get any sleep if it was posterior haha! It isn't a problem just that kicks may be muffled but then you'll get used to "normal" for you.

@TinyPawz fantastic news!

Welcome to the newbies!

TheUbercornMum · 25/04/2018 11:25

Sorry, the spotting question was to reply to @LastNightsMakeup. Oops! This thread moves fast and I forget by the time I come to type! Grin

GiveMummyTheWhizzer · 25/04/2018 11:47

Thanks @TheUbercornMum that's reassuring Smile

TheImprobableGirl · 25/04/2018 12:24

Not good news here i'm afraid - baby was measuring 12+1 but no heartbeat sadly. going into hospital tonight for a medically managed MMC

LastNightsMakeUp · 25/04/2018 12:30

@TheImprobableGirl so sorry to hear your news. Hope all goes as best as it can tonight. Thinking of you x

petiteange28 · 25/04/2018 12:33

@TheImprobableGirl I'm so sorry to hear your news. Hope tonight goes as well as it can and you take time to rest and heal. x

olderthanyouthink · 25/04/2018 12:44

@TheUbercornMum i really hate uncertainty, not know what going on in there all the time is driving me mad.
I think you've tagged me by mistake re spotting, I haven't had any

@TheImprobableGirl I am so very sorry ((hugs)) x

@theimprobablegirl I'm so, so sorry. Hope the MMC goes as well as it can and you get some time to process/rest afterwards. You must be feeling really sad, sending love - I'm so sorry. xx

GiveMummyTheWhizzer · 25/04/2018 13:21

So sorry @TheImprobableGirl Sad

NoCatsHere · 25/04/2018 13:36

improbablegirl i'm so so sorry to hear your news. I had a medical management for my last mmc and it was ok really. i read a lot of horror stories on the internet about it before i went in and got really scared, and wanted to let you know my experience wasn't too bad. desperately sad, but ok physically. thinking of you.
