@theimprobablegirl I had a similar panic today as I managed my normal breakfast fine, and was fine all the way into work.. almost felt normal again! But 10 mins ago I started to feel rubbish again, which is reassuring, but I guess the symptoms have to stop at some point, right?!

@MamaGarl If it's been happening for a week since you last mentioned it, maybe it's worth giving the midwife a call again? There's no harm in checking, and it'll help reassure you.

Nightmanagerfan · 24/04/2018 10:32

@saraswati I planned to go to work today but woke up sobbing. After a shower my husband convinced me i wasn’t in any fit state to go to the office. I’ve told HR& my boss that we had bad news at the scan and the pregnancy may not be viable. I don’t want to give any more details than that. If I were you I’d take the time off - you’re not pregnant very often in life and I think as women we are programmed by society to carry on and not think of ourselves, but if there’s a time to be self focused it’s probably now.

@greenmeerkat lovely to see your pic - such a clear photo.

I had a good chat with my sister (who’s a GP) and another doctor friend last night. They were really supportive and both said it’s really important not to tell lots of people as everyone has a view and people can get quite moralistic when it’s not their situation! So we are taking that to heart. The wait til Friday is going to be agonising. I’ve been reading stories online of people with similar odds to us who went on to have healthy babies, so it may happen, but internally I’m prepared for the worst.

Hope everyone who’s feeling sick/nauseous/bunged up feels better soon.

Emma0902 · 24/04/2018 10:32

@TheImprobableGirl I am the same, I remember feeling really nauseous my first pregnancy for weeks and to be honest haven't felt like that this time! The on/off symptoms are so worrying!! No one ever tells you how hard pregnancy is!

SakuraSunrise · 24/04/2018 11:13

@Nightmanagerfan and @Saraswati I'm so, so sorry to hear about what you're both going through, thinking about you both very much.

I had my 12 week scan yesterday, all looked well which was a huge relief as like you @TheImprobableGirl I've not had many symptoms this time around so I'd braced myself for bad news. With DS I was so sick and had a lot of cramps / growing pains but with this pregnancy I've had none of that, I guess it just shows pregnancies can be so different.

I was measuring one day ahead at the scan so my due date is now the 5th of November, so I've joined the bonfire night crew. However, given the complications I had with DS it looks likely I'll have an ELCS towards the end of October.

Magpie24 · 24/04/2018 12:25

@Saraswati so sorry about your worrying time, especially as you've been away at home. So glad the bleeding has stopped for you. I've had some on and off bleeding throughout and all has been fine so I have my fingers crossed for you.

@Nightmanagerfan really sorry to hear your news. Taking time off work is definitely a good idea. I hope you get some more clarity this week. What a stressful time. Definitely be as kind as you can to yourself.

Am 11+5 and morning sickness back with a vengeance today. Feeling terrible and have had to work from home. Worried work will think I'm slacking off. Have a new line manager as well which is worrying me. Ah well I hope she will understand when I eventually tell her. Anyone else had symptoms come and go? I was feeling good for the last week and even went away at the weekend. Will be gutted if the sickness is back to stay!!

MamaGarl · 24/04/2018 13:05

@Magpie24 I am 14 weeks and yesterday and today the morning sickness and nausea throughout the day has returned Confused Hopefully not for long!

olderthanyouthink · 24/04/2018 13:30

My nausea has returned today and nothing is helping it 😒

I was trying to do some maths and I think that there's a fair chance that I'm slightly less pregnant than I thought because the date from my LMP is 5-10 days off of the contraceptive failures so for my 12 week scan I might only be 9/9.5 weeks, so too early for the NT test. Though I don't mind having 2 scans if I need to go back.

Oh god... just gone 10 weeks today and for the first time in those 10 weeks I feel fantastic!

No nausea, sickness, bloaty-ness... nothing!

It is SO disconcerting!

Also... I still don't have my friggen appointment through for my 12 week Scan and I've been waiting for it since my 8 week booking in appt.

Ugggh! Frustrated and panicky today!

CVB1990 · 24/04/2018 13:45

I’m the same with the symptoms ladies! I have days we’re i feel almost human again and then I have days we’re I can’t eat a thing and have the headache from hell! I’m just tryna take each day as it comes, so lovely seeing all the scans coming in.

Sorry for the ones with worries, I’m keeping everything crossed for you.

I’m 10+4 + still not seen a midwife or got a scan date - 1st appointment Thursday so hoping she has a scan date then. Driving me insane all this worrying 😥

Magpie24 · 24/04/2018 14:28

I've also been having very slightly tingly/numb fingers. From a quick google it looks like it could be carpal tunnel syndrome. Anyone else?

Saraswati · 24/04/2018 15:17

@nightmanagerfan there's no way id go to work in your situation so I'm glad you've called in sick. I think you're right not to tell too many people, everyone will have an opinion but ultimately all that matters is what you and dh decide and you'll end up hating everyone who told you to do the opposite of what you do.

I haven't told work I'm pregnant yet but I think I'll call on Monday and tell my boss the truth and just say I need to try and talk to my midwife and the Italian doctor recommended bed rest anyway so I shouldn't be working. I was going to tell her quickly after the scan anyway and will need to tell her if it's bad news as well. Dd will be at preschool for those days so I'll get to rest and cry in peace before scan time. I told dp I was considering work and he told me I was insane and he was going to tell my mum so I think that's made the decision for me Blush

Managed to go to the beach today and dd had a great time so I'm feeling less mum guilt. I feel exhausted but I'm guessing that's the progesterone or stress. Everywhere in Sicily smells of hot bin so I at least I know my nausea hasn't subsided!

MiniMinions · 24/04/2018 16:27

Great scan @GreenMeerkat, proper little person like!! Can't wait for ours tomorrow

Re how am feeling...work trousers feel a bit tighter and bottom fat tyre feels more firm, still not sleeping great which isn't good and also have got swollen throat gland and bit of ear ache today so am on the hot honey and lemon and been sucking soothers all day!!

TheUbercornMum · 24/04/2018 16:29

@mamagirl I've had some spotting and no reason for it. Can you call up and ask for some advice if still continuing? I was just told it can be normal and it's one of those things. I've had a few occasions if it but never lasts long. Funny what you said re sickness and nausea. The last two days have been horrendous and it's kicked back up a gear and identical dates to you. Bleugh. Want it to disappear now!

Lovely to see scan pictures.

Nightmanagerfan · 24/04/2018 16:39

@GiveMummyTheWhizzer just blame it on baby brain 🙃 I left my keys in the office on my way out, luckily I hadn't left the building when I realised.

Congrats @GiveMummyTheWhizzer

@Magpie24 I had numb patches on my fingers a while back before I was pregnant, definitely worth mentioning it to your GP as it can be a symptom of a vitamin deficiency. In my case the first thing they did was some blood tests to check vitamin levels etc which came back normal, so the neurologist checked me for carpal tunnel etc but decided it was just random nerve damage from some surgery I'd had which may or may not improve, luckily it has since improved a lot!

TheImprobableGirl · 24/04/2018 20:00

I have another assurance scan tomorrow morning and hoping all is progressing correctly. Two weeks since last scan so should be 2 weeks growth. Fingers crossed.
