Laurisi · 19/04/2018 06:39

@marchblossom I had the cubs screening with my previous 3 and at the booking in midwife went though all the screening options available this time to just asking what tests etc I wanted to have and she just checked them all off

Tyrionsbitch · 19/04/2018 07:04

So sorry @tinypaws Flowers

TinyPawz · 19/04/2018 07:15

Sickness has hit. Thought I managed to escape not this time round. Today is going to be a long one

sarahhh1984 · 19/04/2018 08:47

Sorry to hear that @TinyPawz. Mine hit yesterday. Only had mild nausea with DD so this has been a bit of a shock to the system. Dinner last night consisted of me sucking on a series of ice cubes! 🙈

dontquit · 19/04/2018 10:22

Getting ready for my 12 week scan!! Had brown discharge for 2 weeks. None for last few days so fingers crossed all ok and it was just placenta getting set up!! Was always excited for 12 wk scan. This time I'm super anxious!!

pipsqueak126 · 19/04/2018 11:01

Just a reminder that the Aldi Baby and Toddler event starts today!

MamaGarl · 19/04/2018 11:12

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to hop on and introduce myself. Second time mummy, 13 +2 weeks so official due date of 23rd October (although original due date was 27th!). Have a DD 4 years already. Didn't really join a Mumsnet group till after DD was born so missed out on antenatal chat last time.

Look forward to getting to know everyone 😊

TheUbercornMum · 19/04/2018 11:55

Hi @Mamagarl!!

So sorry @Tinypaws.

Ugh to the sickness @TinyPawz and @Sarahh1984

Good luck for scans today.

Sorry I've not been around, stress of primary school applications this week (my first baby cannot be old enough for school boo boo!) and I've been trying to get out in the sunshine to lift the mood (and hopefully help clear my spotty skin!). I've started to have to break into the maternity wear, I literally cannot cope squeezing myself into my normal clothes anymore, I just look like I overindulged over Easter atm (in reality I didn't eat any chocolate or hardly any food!) but the bump is really popping out now and it looks like my organs have all pushed everything up so the "top tummy" part is now jutting out so I have that delightful two bump look coming out. Hope everyone is well

MamaGarl · 19/04/2018 12:12

@TheUberCornMum oh the two bump look! I am totally there at the minute!

Don't know if it's already been mentioned but there's a baby and toddler event on at Asda too

MrsFTigalar · 19/04/2018 12:16

Morning all! I've not been around for similar reasons @TheUbercornmum. Did you get the school you wanted? We were stunned to get our first choice as there were 20 siblings going into reception.

Still nauseous here. I'm making spiced chickpea wraps tonight that I really fancy, what's the vetting that by teatime all I want is toast and honey?

TheUbercornMum · 19/04/2018 12:53

@MrsFTigalar yes! We got our first choice and I'm delighted! I'm just crying into my orange juice about her being so grown up! Haha! Congratulations on getting your first choice too!

Yum chickpea wraps sounds amazing. I'm really struggling as I'm usually a spicy food addict but the sickness and nausea has put me off spicy food and I'm also off meat totally. I eat loads of vegetarian food normally but I'm struggling to find things I genuinely want to eat and am stuck on the safe foods I know don't trigger sickness so I'm stuck on the same old things every week and it's getting boring now! It doesn't help that by 5pm I usually feel quite yuck so I end up having to eat dinner ASAP and choose whatever is going to go down the best which is usually bland, plain and quick and often not very healthy. I'm starting to come through the worst of the sickness I think and hope but it's still very much there so I sympathise.

@MamaGarl ooh will check out Asda, thank you!

MamaGarl · 19/04/2018 13:19

@MrsFTigalar I hate that...when you really fancy something and then by the time it's made you don't want it anymore :-(

sarahhh1984 · 19/04/2018 14:04

@MrsFTigalar @TheUbercornMum Ugh, I know what you mean. Almost every night for a week I've prepared meals and then ended up watching DH eat them while I eat toast/ice cubes! 😂 I'm really missing spicy food. When I was pregnant with DD all I wanted was spicy food but this time not so much. Hoping that changes as things progress.

Congratulations on the school, Ubercorn! It's terrifying how fast they grow up, isn't it? DD turned one on Monday and I've been having little cries ever since.

Good luck to those with scans today! Very envious - mine's not until a week tomorrow. My BIL's partner had hers today and I loved looking at the cute little picture. Can't wait to see this on again in a week.

wejammin · 19/04/2018 14:25

My scan is tomorrow at 9:30am. Today is really dragging!

DD also got into her first school choice (she's a sibling so it was likely) but she's a late July baby and also below all centiles for height and weight so she will most likely be the smallest child in the entire school.

dontquit · 19/04/2018 14:40

Scan went really well. Have been so anxious but finally feels real and am very excited! Here's a pic. 12+2 today and measured exactly that. Forgot to ask where placenta was as have been having brown discharge but prob doesn't make a difference at this stage.
Good luck to everyone else with scans coming up. Sorry to hear some of you are still suffering.

Emelene · 19/04/2018 14:57

Great picture @dontquit. I'm glad you got good news. @sarahhh1984 - my scan is a week tomorrow too! I'll be 12 +4. Can't wait!

pipsqueak126 · 19/04/2018 15:01

@dontquit that's an amazing picture! Can't wait to see more to come over the next few weeks! Mine is a week on Monday, I'm really excited now having seen yours!

AiredaleFan · 19/04/2018 15:09

Hi everyone. Life seems a bit of a rollercoaster at the moment. My husband and I have been fighting colds this week, and yesterday we were both quite unwell. I had a headache and was vomiting up everything, I was soooo thirsty but just couldn't keep anything down. I was just about to cancel my scan (massive palaver for us to get to fertility unit 40 miles away, plus drop daughter off at grandparents) when I started to bleed (bright red plus clots so v worrying). So we decided to go but managed a misunderstanding between us which ended up in a brief shouting match followed by silence.

Anyway, we made it there with various stops for me to be sick, and all was good on the scan (8+6, clear heartbeat and gave us a wriggle). I had a massive cry, DH realised then how worried I'd been.

I feel fine today, no headache, no nausea, just a little tired.

Yesterday was a testing one for sure!

TinyPawz · 19/04/2018 15:21

@TheUbercornMum @MamaGarl I've been researching belly bands to try to limit the dreaded B bump. I want a nice D bump this time

Nevada54 · 19/04/2018 15:38

So sorry to hear your news @tinypaws :(

@theubercornmum I'm also currently rocking a double bump bloat! Have given up with jeans but have some jeggings that are much more forgiving

10+6 now. I caved and had a private scan early in the week. Measuring perfect and I can't believe how clear it all looked, I'll try and post a picture later :) I'd been having some bad cramping and wanted the reassurance everything was ok before telling my mum.
