@TheImprobableGirl it is rare, yes we are praying we will be lucky and a bean will grow in one.

@Badbadbeans I hope you get an appointment early and the spotting stops. Sending you positive thoughts.

@NoCatsHere I hope you get a scan soon to ease your worries.

BadBadBeans · 12/04/2018 20:01

Thanks @LastNightsMakeUp @NoCatsHere and @Emelene

@TheImprobableGirl you are describing exactly what I have been having - definitely not tmi: thank you for the detail! I have the wet period feeling too. My last wipe was back to really pale brown. It's the light periody cramps that are worrying me the most so it is so good to know you have had them. (Although obviously I am sorry you have been through similar worry!) I had googled a bit but I will stop now. Reading about other people's experiences won't change my outcome, but reading yours has at least stopped me from assuming I am definitely miscarrying! Thank you :)

@NoCatsHere I think your reasoning is sound and I hope the midwife listens x

TheUbercornMum · 12/04/2018 20:15

@Badbadbeans I hope you get a scan tomorrow morning and of course hoping for the best for you. Fingers crossed. I know a few friends who had similar in their first trimester and those babies are now 4 so it can be OK. I've also had spotting in both pregnancies now as well as period like cramps and there has been no explanation for either time. Hope you manage to get some rest tonight and everything stops.

TheImprobableGirl · 12/04/2018 20:22

Yes @badbadbeans if you go back a couple of pages/ might have been the end of the last thread (it started last Wednesday at the cinema!) it does follow everything you are saying - fingers crossed you have a good outcome, best of luck x

ditzzy · 12/04/2018 20:24

Fingers crossed for you Badbeans - it’s the ‘not knowing’ that’s always the worst, so I really hope they do call back first thing.

I had my booking in with the midwife today. She’s lovely and perfectly sympathetic to the fact I’ve spent the morning in hysterical tears because I’m convinced I’m going to have another mmc after all my symptoms disappeared today (at exactly 8 weeks - just like last time. She still said that absolutely no way would they give me a reassurance scan though. Her point was that it’s only reassuring for the five mins in the scan and then you need another one to be reassured again! I’ll be phoning the private place in the morning and booking in for a scan there....

TheUbercornMum · 12/04/2018 20:36

@XSunnyX wow, 4....fingers crossed also for you that the next scan shows positive news. I really feel for all of you waiting and for those of you with previous losses, it's so unfair.

BunBunMum · 12/04/2018 20:47

Sorry you are having such a stressful time @badbadbeans Hope you get a scan early tomorrow

All being well, DS will be 3yr 1 month when this baby arrives

Magpie24 · 12/04/2018 21:33

@BadBadBeans hope all goes well for you tomorrow and you get an early scan.

Nausea back with a vengeance today after a few days feeling better. Spotting seems to have abated a little too. Would rather the nausea than the spotting. Swings and roundabouts!

Still don't have a midwife despite being 10 weeks as GP messed up hospital referral....

BadBadBeans · 12/04/2018 21:39

@TheImprobableGirl I remembered you had had some red blood but hadn't realised about the cramping etc too. I must say I do love mumsnet for the ability to share experiences and information like this. There is absolutely nothing like being able to talk to someone who is in the same situation as you at the same time as you!

Thanks everyone for your well wishes and support.

@ditzzy so glad you had a good appointment. I can see her point about the scan but on the other hand... it would be really helpful for you to have a scan!!! I think I would get a private one too in your position. I think symptoms can be a bit mysteriously coming and going during the first trimester though so try not to worry (said the pot to the kettle).

Well I have treated myself to some choc and a drama episode (I almost never watch tv) and am feeling about as relaxed as I'm going to get with all this 'spotting' (seems more like 'blotching' to me) going on. Sleep well everyone, especially those with worries tonight x

XSunnyX · 12/04/2018 22:47

@TheUberCornMum thanks for your well wishes. I hope you're well?!

toasterstrudle · 12/04/2018 23:50

@BadBadBeans totally agree re the unique loveliness of having people in the same boat at the same time! As mentioned I had bright red bleed at 8 weeks with DS and he's now nearly 9 months old so keeping everything crossed for you. @TheImprobableGirl 's situations also sounds very similar, hope you get a scan asap. Will be thinking of you.

First trimester - it's not easy!

I went shopping today for new clothes for return to work on Monday (actually a new job). Bought a lot of clothes in a size or two up as the empire lines of maternity wear make me look about 6 months go! Really hoping to hide this until 16 weeks at least, hopefully new wardrobe will do the job.

BadBadBeans · 13/04/2018 07:34

Thanks @toasterstrudle! Hoping they can fit me in for a scan today... I will ring towards lunchtime if I haven't heard as I need to be able to sort out contingency plans for the event I'm attempting to go to this evening!

@LastNightsMakeUp I can confirm that the feet on the stool (no pun intended) trick works well for pooing! Would recommend!

Bit of a sleepless night here for various reasons!

TheImprobableGirl · 13/04/2018 09:32

Hope they get in contact with you earlyish @badbadbeans x

MeredithShepherd · 13/04/2018 09:34

Fingers crossed you’re seen asap @badbadbeans

NoCatsHere · 13/04/2018 10:25

thinking of you today badbeans hope they call you this morning.

NoCatsHere · 13/04/2018 10:32

improbablegirl thank you - i did think that, that I could say i'd seen spotting to get scanned. And i agree, i think mental health during pregnancy is as important as physical health. I'll see what the midwife says on tuesday, see if she sees my reasoning as fair and if not i'll re-think and go from there.

sunny thank you so much. hope you're doing ok today. fingers crossed for your next scan.

7+4 today so made it past my first mc date at 7 weeks, next milestone is 9 weeks when I had a mmc. Booking in appointment is next tuesday and i'll be 8+1.
Oh and the gap between my ds1 and ds2 is 3 years 10 months and between ds2 and this one will be (hopefully) 4 years 2 months roughly.

sarahhh1984 · 13/04/2018 11:14

Just catching up on thread from yesterday.

Sorry to hear you're going through a tough time, @BadBadBeans! Hope you get seen ASAP and it can still put your mind at rest.

@Emma0902 DD will be about 18 months when this baby is born. Looking at the Phil & Teds Dot as it can revert to being a single once DD is confident walking. Will probably do some baby in the carrier and DD in pushchair, but not too much as I don't drive so wouldn't want to do that for long distances. x

Tyrionsbitch · 13/04/2018 11:53

Fingers crossed for you @BadBadBeans .

I finally got my scan appointment through this morning - 2nd May. Feels so far away! Looking forward to getting past that milestone and will hopefully relax a bit after that.

petiteange28 · 13/04/2018 12:26

@BadBadBeans thinking of you this morning and hope you have got an appointment and everything is ok?

@Emma0902 I am the same as @sarahhh1984 and DD will be about 18 months when no2 comes along (all going well). I think you can get an adaptor to attach a kind of double layer (like bunk beds) onto the pram so I will go down that route. I'm not thinking through too much yet until I get to the magic 12 weeks....and then I'll start being practical and panicking about having two under two and being exhausted CONSTANTLY, and paying for two in nursery - arghhhhh Shock

moomoo85 · 13/04/2018 12:31

@Tyrionsbitch same scan date as me!

BadBadBeans · 13/04/2018 12:37

Hey ladies, it's not good news for me. Ironically the bleeding might actually be an implantation bleed, but the pregnancy is only measuring 6 weeks and I should be 9. Given I had a positive pregnancy test 5 weeks ago, the nurse and I both thought it very unlikely that my dates were wrong. I have to be rescanned in a week because od its size, but it is pretty much a miscarriage. I'm more upset than I thought I would be but I'm also not surprised. Like Picklesandpies earlier in this thread, I knew in my bones something wasn't right. Thanks for all your support x

ditzzy · 13/04/2018 12:46

Hi Beans - sorry to hear your news, was there a heartbeat?

I’ve just come back from a scan at EPU too. Measuring 5+3 instead of 8 weeks, but there’s an active heartbeat, so the midwife was quite upbeat, and told me to come back in two weeks so they can see if it’s growing at all

TheUbercornMum · 13/04/2018 12:53

@Badbadbeans I'm sorry to hear your update. Of course I hope for some reason the dates are wrong and next week everything is fine. Hope you're being looked after. @Ditzzy that's good there was an active heartbeat, could the dates be a bit out? FlowersFlowersFlowersFlowers

ditzzy · 13/04/2018 12:58

I think if they try to suggest it must be wrong dates my dp is going to raise eyebrows as we’ve not dtd since 1st March!! (For various reasons...) And that was the day I had a positive OPK...

But yes, I’m feeling much more positive.

sarahhh1984 · 13/04/2018 12:59

@BadBadBeans Sorry to hear your update. Hoping it is just a case of wrong dates for you. Thinking of you. Thanks

@ditzzy Glad your scan was more positive. Sounds like maybe it was wrong dates.
