Thank @sarahhh1984. Good to know. I can stop panicking about trying to find vaccination record from 2012.

Are there any other vaccines that are now recommended. I didn't need that one when pregnant with Dd in 2006

sarahhh1984 · 04/04/2018 06:47

@TinyPawz Just flu, I think. My booking in was at the very end of flu season though and when I rang my GP and the chemists they were all out, so have to wait until September for that one!

MeredithShepherd · 04/04/2018 07:11

@Picklesandpies so so sorry to hear your news Sad look after yourself xxx

Picklesandpies · 04/04/2018 07:28

Thanks @MeredithShepherd

Leaving this board but I'll probably check in to see how you are all doing at some point.

Bye @BadBadBeans - good luck in the rest of your pregnancy x

@Picklesandpies so sorry to read your news. Take care of yourself xx

confuddledconfuddle · 04/04/2018 08:53

So sorry to read your update @Picklesandpies take care

I'm freaking out today - nausea completely disappeared! Like how, why, it can't just disappear at 6 weeks can it? Hopefully it is just a good day today and I will be regretting not enjoying today tomorrow.

I still haven't heard about any dates for scans or booking in. I am in NI this time and my last pregnancy was in England and I think they do things slightly different here.

I believe that you don't routinely get offered blood tests for Down syndrome at 12 week scan!! I really can't believe that. They say it's because of law you can't act on it. But maybe someone would want to travel to act on it. It wouldn't change what I would do in pregnancy, but I will demand it as it may change my decisions such as where I deliver, if there is a possibility of needing additional care and also I think it helps parents to bond with the child and grieve imagined future before the child is here, instead of when trying to cope with a potentially ill newborn.

MiniMinions · 04/04/2018 09:02

@sarahhh1984 thanks for that hopefully same will be for me too then! Just remembered they are going to weigh me haha am going for lunch before!! Did they take bloods?

sarahhh1984 · 04/04/2018 09:05

@MiniMinions Yep, took bloods and a urine sample. I did take one with me but they wanted a "fresh" one. Also took blood pressure and did a CO2 test thingy. Oh, and weighed me. 🙈

Amarettoplease · 04/04/2018 09:09

Sorry pickles, I’d never heard of PUL until my mc before this pregnancy. The waiting for something to happen stage is horrible, take care of yourself Flowers

I’m here from the October bus after an early scan moved my dates back a week to 4th Nov. I’m not 100% convinced as it’s early so I’m somewhere between 9 and 10 weeks. This will be DC2, DS is 4. Struggling more with nausea this time, have only been sick a few times though so should be grateful I guess!

I’ll add my details to the stats sheet when I’m on the laptop, nice to see a few people in SE London. Smile

marchblossom · 04/04/2018 09:27

Sorry to read your update @Picklesandpies sending love Thanks

marchblossom · 04/04/2018 09:32

Anyone else have terrible nausea but no actual vomiting?! Wandering if I'd feel better if I was actually sick sometimes! It just builds and builds all day and I'm not enjoying any meals except my first bowl of cereal in the morning. I feel totally bloated and nauseous all day long :( struggling to be active and healthy as everything turns my stomach. I can barely swallow my prenatal vitamin without gagging and it repeating on me for hours. I'm sure I wasn't this bad in my last two pregnancies, and have never suffered with actual vomiting. Sad

pipsqueak126 · 04/04/2018 09:34

@pickles I'm so sorry of your loss, take care and I hope you have better news soon xx

@olderthanyouthink I'm totally with you on feeling fed up! I'm 8 + 2 and suffering constant nausea. I'm normally so careful with what I eat, and I think the amount of bread I'm eating is causing me to feel worse, but it's all I can stomach. Anyone else only craving moist or soft food? Crisps are totally off the cards. I keep eating bananas too as they're easy, but I'm not a big fan so that's making me feel down too. I just want to eat normally again!

NoCatsHere · 04/04/2018 10:04

pickles I’m so sorry to read this. Be kind to yourself. I too lost one at 7 weeks naturally and it was like a heavy period not to bad at all. I hope yours goes easy too. I fell pregnant straight away next cycle with no period as well....some people feel bad for wanting to try again quickly but I found I really wanted to be pregnant again. Big hugs to you.

pipsqueak126 · 04/04/2018 10:07

@marchblosson I hear you! I ran to the toilet 3 times yesterday but wasn't sick. I know it's better to keep food down, but the constant nausea is the worst. My SIL is a GP and she gave me some anti-sickness meds (not on prescription) but I'm wary to take them as I might start relying on them! Especially as I don't have HG... I told DH last night that if I knew I'd feel like this (and I did know, but obviously you don't think about it...) I'd have had second thoughts about trying! I know that's a stupid thing to say, but it's really got me down!

Saraswati · 04/04/2018 10:11

@picklesandpie so sorry to hear your news, go easy on yourself Flowers

I've got my booking in appointment today which is quite nice as it feels like something is happening! I had to throw up in the bushes when I was walking my dogs this morning and feel horrific, luckily I have today off work and dd is at preschool so after my appointment I might go back to bed. I'm over 8 weeks now so hopefully in a couple of weeks I'll start to feel better, seem to be getting worse at the moment Confused

petiteange28 · 04/04/2018 10:20

So sorry to hear your news @Picklesandpies. Wishing you all the best x

GiveMummyTheWhizzer · 04/04/2018 10:37

@marchblossom - me!! Bad nausea a lot of the time but no actually vomit (touch wood!)

marchblossom · 04/04/2018 10:41

@pipsqueak126 my friend (a nurse) has recommended the anti-sickness tablets too. I might resort to them if this doesn't improve! Glad it's not just me, I'm also about 8 weeks, think this is the worst time for it?

Nightmanagerfan · 04/04/2018 10:53

@pickles so sorry to hear that. Look after yourself and know we'll be thinking of you.

@Amarettoplease I'm in SE London too and there are quite a few of us. Hoping we can meet up at some point. Which hospital have you gone for? I'm at Kings.

My exhaustion/nausea/attitude to food isn't great at the moment either. I'm ten weeks today so hoping it gets better soon. I am craving white carbs/stodge, but not sure that's helping as I get very hungry afterwards (could be the crash after the sugar rush), but I just don't feel like anything else.

I was coming home last night on the tube and realised I haven't been out in the evening after work for ages! I would usually see a friend or go to a talk/event at least twice a week, but it's just not possible when feeling so unwell. Hope everyone feels a bit better soon.

Amarettoplease · 04/04/2018 10:57

@marchblossom I’m rubbish at being sick, so the couple of times I have I’ve just ended up in more of a mess- eyes streaming, blocked nose, sore throat. The nausea this time has been awful though, I considered going to the GP for anti sickness meds but was reading about light headed side effects and changed my mind. I can’t believe how different I feel this pregnancy compared to with my son, really wasn’t expecting this Hmm

marchblossom · 04/04/2018 11:06

@Amarettoplease I feel exactly the same! Mum keeps telling me nausea/sickness is a good sign so I'm sticking with that as encouragement for now! Good to know about the tablets, I have super low blood pressure and suffer with dizziness so prob not best idea for me.

Amarettoplease · 04/04/2018 11:14

@nightmanagerfan I’m at Queen Elizabeth. They have a MLU based on the one at Lewisham where I delivered my son. Definitely up for meet ups, the London ladies on DS1’s bus are more scattered so we tended to meet more central- a meet up a bit closer to home with the option to drive would be fab!

I’m off for the Easter holidays now and am meeting some friends after they finish work this week and next. We’ve arranged locations so I can drive as the thought of being on the tube feeling sick fills me with dread at the moment. My cravings also change all the time so don’t know where we will eat- last week I absolutely HAD to have Zizzi’s Casareccia Pollo Piccante when I finished work. I picked DH up from the pub (he wasn’t very impressed) and we all went but I don’t think I could stomach it now!

TheUbercornMum · 04/04/2018 11:18

Hi @Amarettoplease I'm due late October so we may have similar dates.

@MeredithShepherd I feel similar. It feels strange that I will have two children I adore equally because I adore my DD. I know it's irrational and just because it's all new but I totally agree and I'm sure a very normal feeling.

Sorry to hear about others nausea. It's the pits. If I'm not being sick I feel sick. I try not to take my meds all the time so I still experience it. My GP said to take the meds but I feel really cautious about taking them. When I do take them because I start spiralling the relief is immense. They do make me groggy a few hours after taking but that goes away after a few hours. They take away all the nausea and sickness so I almost feel normal. Necessary evil!!
