We registered the boys today. It was with the same registrar who did our intention to marry which was nice and they let each of us be the informant for one twin.

We also booked them in for their BCGs which they need because London is a high risk TB area, but I really hate the idea of giving them such a nasty vaccination so young. I had it as a teen and it was horrible for weeks afterwards.

@clareb83 that's lovely it was the same registrar. Shame the boys need the BCG so young but it's just not worth risking it I suppose. How are you all getting on? Are you feeling better?

RockinRobinTweets · 10/05/2018 18:04

Ah all registered, definitely here now!

I’m having the oddest feeling of baby pushing into my pubic bone, or at least that’s what it feels like. Is that normal?!

Northernbeachbum · 10/05/2018 18:28

I've been having the same @rockinrobin, think he's run out of space.....No idea if it's normal but it's a very odd feeling

ClareB83 · 10/05/2018 19:32

I definitely feel loads better physically, but every now and then I get reminded that I am still recovering eg getting pooped after walking to the supermarket.

The boys have been sleeping well at night the last few nights which has really helped me and DH feel more on top of things. DH has been brilliant doing loads of the housework and baby stuff too so I can put my feet up when I need to. I'm trying to accept that he will go back to work next week, but I really wish he had longer.

Shutupanddance1 · 11/05/2018 06:44

@ClareB83 we had to give the BCG vaccine as well due to where we lived, DD had no side effects so try not to worry too much about it.

I’m feeling huge atm and very uncomfortable. I’m sleeping on a pile of pillows would be the only way to describe it Confused

ClareB83 · 11/05/2018 08:41

It is ridiculous how many people say to pregnant women "sleep while you can". Between being uncomfortable and needing to pee 20 times a night it's pretty damn difficult!

Joe was a lot more restless last night so we're not quite as well rested as previous days. But what's weird is I was awake and dealing with him for a couple of hours and then slept through it for a couple of hours while DH got up. I don't feel like I was tired enough to be that zonked not to hear them right next to me and wake up! Admittedly he wasn't screaming just fussy but still.

@RockinRobinTweeting I’m feeling as though baby is pushing really low every time I move. Doesn’t help with lower back ache too. Every time I walk the kids to school (down a hill) I swear I feel as though I’m going to go into labour the baby is pushing so heavily.
Hope everyone is ok today

RockinRobinTweets · 11/05/2018 12:00

Walking is definitely tricky. Although I’ve just been weeding the garden and mowing the lawn which probably isn’t ideal!

SparklesandBubbles · 11/05/2018 19:29

@ClareB83 lovely to have them registered by the same registrar. I was supposed to get my DS done for BCG when he was tiny but the waiting list at the time was ridiculously long and I must admit I then forgot about it. Suspect I'll have to get this one done too as I'm London too.

@RockinRobinTweets I've had similar. I'm not sure this baby likes being stuck in one position - had it confirmed today on a scan that head is fully engaged now so that's great news - and apparently it won't come out again. I keep seeing feet up at the top of my bump when it stretches too! Really need to try and capture it - never had that with DS as he liked being curled in a ball!! I can also tell it's engaged as I'm needing to constantly pee!!

I'm feeling totally exhausted - our DS is sleeping really badly at the moment so I'm averaging about 5hrs broken sleep a night. Luckily my DH is being amazing and tonight we've agreed he's going to sleep in with him and I'm going to have our bed and close the door for hopefully a solid night's sleep - we'll see if it happens. Anyone else having issues with their toddler?

WreckItRach · 12/05/2018 07:24

@SparklesandBubbles
That's so lovely that your DH did that, did it help at all? You must be absolutely exhausted!!

My baby was low down but since I have been ill I think he has come back up so I need to focus on more walking and exercise ball exercises ASAP!!

SparklesandBubbles · 12/05/2018 08:20

@WreckItRach yes it worked. I had 6 hours solid sleep - before I needed to pee at 5:40am!! I then went back to sleep till about 7:30am. Sounds like DS and DH slept relatively well too so we are all feeling more refreshed this morning. I'm still in bed though with a cup of tea!! Have a good weekend everyone x

ClareB83 · 12/05/2018 10:39

That's a result @SparklesandBubbles!

Hearts22 · 12/05/2018 11:22

I’ve also been feeling like the baby is really low down the last couple of days, is that normal at not quite 34 weeks??

jadeward89 · 12/05/2018 13:22

@Hearts22 I’ve been feeling it for weeks I’m only now 35+2.
@SparklesandBubbles sounds like a well deserved rest all around 😊

Hearts22 · 12/05/2018 17:38

Thanks @jadeward89 that’s reassuring to know 🙂

SylvesterTheCat · 12/05/2018 21:56

Has anyone been on an NCT course? DH and I did Day 1 of a two-day course today and dreading going back for more tomorrow. All the info - 10 hours in total - could be cut down to a couple of hours (at most) if there weren't so many patronising group activities - seems like such a waste of time but I've paid for it so had better go along... 😩
Hoping for more practical information tomorrow.

WreckItRach · 13/05/2018 04:55

@SparklesandBubbles that sounds amazing!! What a difference!
@SylvesterTheCat I didn't go on one, we thought about it but it was a bit pricey. I'm quite glad we didn't actually because we both are quite shy around others and it sounds quite active!
The info will always be helpful but if you feel that uncomfortable or overwhelmed you don't have to go x

WreckItRach · 13/05/2018 04:58

Ladies can I get your advice? (Warning for a TMI post in advance!)
I went to the hospital on Wednesday evening with pains, they did tests and said stomach bug. I then spent all weds night and Thursday with sickness and diarrhoea. This slowed down a bit but came back Friday morning, then stopped in the evening again. Yesterday, I had to go to the toilet once in the morning and that's all so I thought yay, kept some food down, now at 4am I have just had to go again and basically everything has come back out (sorry 🤢😓).
Do you think I should phone the hospital or wait it out? I'm drinking as much as I can but I'm concerned that the baby hasn't had any decent nutrients since Wednesday lunch to be honest x

Northernbeachbum · 13/05/2018 07:52

@wreckitrach give them a call, you'll only worry otherwise and they really don't mind!

@Sylvesterthecat I considered NCT but thought the pricing was too steep so I can't help you there. I think it's so regional as to the quality actually

@sparklesandbubbles hope you had another good night's sleep

SylvesterTheCat · 13/05/2018 07:58

@WreckItRach sorry to hear you're not well. Tummy bugs are horrible. Could you call the hospital for advice again? You might get a different nurse/doctor on the phone therefore a different opinion. I'm no expert but I'd imagine that whatever nutrients you're getting would be prioritised towards baby so it could be that you're also feeling worse in yourself because of this(?).

Do you take vitamins? (I haven't since first trimester but if I were in your position I'd start taking them again just in case it helps. Though vitamins can smell/taste horrible too so it depends on whether you think it might make you vomit more).

Take care Thanks

ClareB83 · 13/05/2018 08:14

@WreckItRach I've had stomach bugs boomerang like that before so it's probably fine, but there's no harm in ringing. The baby will always take what it needs first, directly from your bones if necessary, so they'll be fine too.

I didn't do nct either as the nearest one was far away and I thought that was pointless if the main purpose was meeting people. Our nhs classes were nearby and helpful.

WreckItRach · 13/05/2018 08:18

Thanks @ClareB83 , that's really helpful 😁

Watchingmasterchef · 13/05/2018 08:40

I didn’t bother with nct, instead did a day course with nhs. Was ok- some good advice some bad, but for me the main drawback was that it was too focused on childbirth . I was unprepared for what happens after birth ! And nothing can prepare you for the birth anyway as nothing ever goes to plan ! At least , it didn’t for me last time and since then have spoken to so many mums about birth and not a single one of their births was at all predictable . Somehow it happens and then yo are left with a baby that I had no idea how to look after ! Three years on and about to happen again I can’t remember a thing about looking after a newborn baby other than we both cried a lot

Cookie1831 · 13/05/2018 09:04

The only thing useful from Nct was making some friends but to be fair not really in touch with many 6 years down the line, the lady who took it was patronising ill informed and a very anti medical professionals I found (her and I had words Angry)
@wreckitrach are you keeping fluids down and passing urine? The baby will be getting plenty of nutrients from your reserves don’t worry about that but the issue is dehydration if you aren’t tolerating fluids then a bit like a hyperemeisis patient you might need to go in for Ob fluids if ketones in your wee, can you try sips of dioralyte I’m the meantime? Baby moving ok?xx
