Oh sparkles you are term how exciting are you the furthest ahead then? Bouncy ball longs walks and sex!
I did have a clary sage massage 3 days before I had my second and did use the tea with my first and although contractions were far apart they were definitely strong according to midwife so who knows!!x

WreckItRach · 06/05/2018 18:15

How exciting @SparklesandBubbles ! Definitely try long walks or something quite active and hopefully it will be time before you know it!

RockinRobinTweets · 07/05/2018 18:20

How’s everyone getting on with the weather? I’ve not swollen up yet but it feels inevitable.

Have been having what I assume are braxton hicks but for a few hours. No other symptoms though

Northernbeachbum · 07/05/2018 19:54

Usually I'd be in the sun tanning myself, this weekend I've hidden in the house and had loads of cold showers. I'm starting to hope the baby comes ASAP

I found with Braxton hicks if I got up and walked around they died off (it was the only way I knew for sure that's what they were)

WreckItRach · 07/05/2018 19:59

I have struggled with it more, I usually love the sun too. I have still been out in it quite a bit but have to dunk my feet in cold water to cool down.
How many weeks are you again @Northernbeachbum ?

jadeward89 · 07/05/2018 21:04

I don’t do well in the heat normally so I’m not finding the heat fun, our room has been boiling even without the sun on it (front of the house is always in shade). I’m still being sick though and feeling swollen both down to heat and feeling massive. Will see what the mw says tomorrow 😊

RockinRobinTweets · 07/05/2018 22:04

Oh dear Jade, that’s no fun.

I was pretty close to calling mau earlier as they were only worse if I moved but luckily passed now.

Cooling down by Wednesday I think, I have no idea how people do pregnancy and function in hot countries

Shutupanddance1 · 08/05/2018 07:18

@RockinRobinTweets - it’s 40 degrees here where I am robin and we generally live in the A/C Grin.

Heat has cranked up here too, I’m hot and sweaty and having like 2 showers each day. No fun. Although I’ve now washed and dried all the baby first size and done my hospital bag. It’s significantly lighter than first time around Wink

SparklesandBubbles · 08/05/2018 07:38

So I'm being admitted to hospital today. Turns out my little tinker of a baby is transverse (or was when I went in for reduced movement - I think it has moved since). They wanted to admit me straight away but I refused so managed to enjoy the bank holiday weekend and have my baby shower and more importantly get all my last bits together. I was really emotional yesterday as my little boy is very clingy to me at the moment and I don't really want to leave him - there's a possibility I could be in for 3 weeks. Shock I've expanded my hospital bag a bit more with changes of clothes etc but worried I've forgotten something vital.

I guess some people would just opt for a c-section at this point but I really don't want that unless it's absolutely vital.

I'm really hoping that they do an ECV and the baby's head then properly engages so I can go home and wait for labour. Keep your fingers crossed for me ladies xx

ClareB83 · 08/05/2018 08:42

Good luck @SparklesandBubbles!

Good Luck @SparklesandBubbles hope everything goes ok x

ElizabethLemon · 08/05/2018 13:15

Hi all, I’ve just come back from my 36 week scan and unfortunately they have found what they believe to be a blood clot on the baby’s brain. I’ve got to go back to the hospital in a couple of hours for an MRI so they can get a better look.

The consultant was positive and said that she’s seen this regularly and that there is usually nothing to worry about. Obviously this makes no difference to me and I am feeling absolutely devastated. I stupidly googled and all I could see was info about babies in utero and newborns having strokes. I feel awful.

Cookie1831 · 08/05/2018 13:15

Aw good luck sparkles turn baby turn!!!

jadeward89 · 08/05/2018 13:21

@ElizabethLemon I hope the MRI goes well for you and you are ok x

ClareB83 · 08/05/2018 13:57

Oh gosh @ElizabethLemon I'd be totally freaking out too! But try to take reassurance from what the doctor said and good luck with the MRI.

Best of luck @SparklesandBubbles

@elizabethlemon - best of luck for this afternoon, fingers crossed xx

Hearts22 · 08/05/2018 14:28

Good luck @SparklesandBubbles xx

@ElizabethLemon I know it’s easy to say try not to worry, but my mum had the same thing with me, and when they looked again a week later it had completely disappeared, so I hope that helps you to feel just a little bit better xx

SparklesandBubbles · 08/05/2018 14:29

@ElizabethLemon sorry to hear this. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that the MRI is ok and brings positive results. It's so hard to not look at the internet for these things and I've done it myself but try not to worry.

SparklesandBubbles · 08/05/2018 14:30

Update from me: well the good news after all that stress and worry about potentially spending weeks in hospital the baby is head down now (clearly all the bouncing on the exercise ball I did over the last two days helped). Baby is wriggling around like crazy - felt 60movements in 20mins on the CTG! They also want me to have a growth scan to check baby’s growth which I’m having later this afternoon but basically they’ve said I can go home. I can’t tell you how relieved I am!!😁

Great news @sparklesandbubbles!!!!

@Elizabethlemon, fingers crossed for you! It's a good job you get a 36 week scan!! Made me consider going and getting another private one

Cookie1831 · 08/05/2018 16:57

@elizabethlemon we posed at the same time so I didn’t see your update fingers crossed mri is good news
Yay for you sparkle

ElizabethLemon · 08/05/2018 17:21

Thanks everyone 🙂. The sonographer looked at previous scans and apparently it was there before but it had got brighter this time so easier to spot, although it hasn’t got any larger which they were pleased about. I feel like I don’t have enough information though, they didn’t say that much and what they did say went over my head as I was panicking. Luckily my husband was there and took a lot more in. They said the other thing it could be was a tumor but that’s very unlikely. If it is confirmed as a clot it may well sort itself out or he could have to have surgery 😞. She said occasionally it can cause neurological problems and mentioned epilepsy. I just want him to be ok.

MRI is now done but unfortunately I have to wait until next Wednesday to go back and discuss the results with the consultant. I can’t imagine how I’m going to cope over the next week but in a way it’s reassuring as I feel if they were very worried they would push the results through quicker?

I know @Northernbeachbum it’s a bit scary that he could have been born with this and we’d be none the wiser.

Great news @sparklesandbubbles my friend recently had a c-section due to a transverse baby and she had the most bizarre bump! I think it was really uncomfortable too so good that your little one has turned!

WreckItRach · 08/05/2018 21:15

Yay for you @SparklesandBubbles ! That's great news!

I'm so sorry for your news @ElizabethLemon , try to stay calm (easier said than done!) the doctors don't sound too worried which is a good sign. Hopefully it will sort itself out and you and baby will be perfect. I will be thinking of you xx

Northernbeachbum · 09/05/2018 14:35

@ElizabethLemon I tend to notice they're very cautious and honest with issues found in pregnancy. It'll be impossible not to worry but I think you're right and they would be rushing if they were incredibly concerned
