Cookie1831 · 02/05/2018 18:20

I am secretly hoping mine comes a wee bit early as have been measuring 4 weeks ahead not really prepared yet either but have loads of time (I do love to tempt fate!)

WreckItRach · 02/05/2018 18:49

@Cookie1831 that's so exciting! It's just round the corner now.
My husband and I were saying it's exciting because we can now officially say we will be having a baby next month if not earlier!!
@Dinosauratemydaffodils not long to go!
Have any of you been drinking raspberry red leaf tea?

ElizabethLemon · 02/05/2018 19:19

Yes so exciting that most of us should have our babies in the next 8 weeks!

@WreckItRach I plan on buying some ASAP as I drank it in the weeks leading up to my last birth and it was very swift and straightforward. The tea could have absolutely nothing to do with that of course but it’s only a couple of quid so who cares!

jadeward89 · 02/05/2018 19:26

I can’t believe it’s May either! I keep thinking 3 weeks until I’m 37weeks and 6until I’m due. When I was measured at my last mw appointment at 32+5 I was measuring 37 weeks. So I’m wondering if my dates are out slightly, ok maybe I’m hoping that they are out and that baby comes sooner rather than later. Mind you my other three were all late so we’ll see. 😊

Northernbeachbum · 02/05/2018 19:28

The FaceTime idea is a great one, @Clareb83 hope you're feeling better!!

Mine should be here 5 weeks today.......Oh wow that sounds so soon. I'm so so sure I'm missing things we will urgently need too! No idea what those things are though

WreckItRach · 02/05/2018 21:12

It will be time before we all know it!
@Northernbeachbum I feel the same! It's ok though, someone can do a dash to the shops if needed I guess!

@ElizabethLemon I will definitely buy it at the weekend then!

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 02/05/2018 22:24

@WreckItRach Nope because I'm aiming for an elective section as I have a dodgy pelvis (which ds got stuck in last time) but I have friends who swear by it.

ClareB83 · 03/05/2018 05:50

I stayed home during the day until I was sure I was fine and it was just my BP medication and not a bug.

Actually I probably needed the break from hospital. I never did get any maternity leave before babies arrived, so I did some pottering around the house, making up changing stations, washing second hand toys etc.

As long as I don't think about the boys being somewhere else at all it's fine.

I wonder how many babies we'll get in May and July?

Hey ladies,
First of all BIG congratulations to @clareb83 well done glad to hear the boys and yourself are doing great.

Secondly I'm rooting for all you lovely ladies and these summer babies, ant wait to hear the announcements flooding in.

I hope you all are well and not having such a hard time towards the end of your pregnancies. Wish you all the best.

Quick update: Amayah is still in NICU and most probably be there until June sadly. However she was 9 weeks on Monday, she now weighs 4lbs and on full feeds via feeding tube.

I will pop back soon

ElizabethLemon · 03/05/2018 10:09

@Mummyloves09 pleased to hear your update. I bet you can’t wait to get her home, 4lb is a great weight though - only 1lb off my full term baby! She has done so well. Hope you and the rest of your family are doing well too.

It must have been a welcome change of scenery @ClareB83. Are you on labetalol? I had some funny side effects when taking that with ds1. Hope you get some good news today about bringing the boys home.

I’ve been feeling awful the last couple of days. My throat has been so painful and now my ears are starting to hurt 😐. I just want a lemsip and ibruprofen but managing with honey and lemon and the odd parocetamol. I had my whooping cough vaccine on Tuesday and I’m sure that made me feel ill, plus my arm still really hurts. Feeling a bit pathetic and sorry for myself!

Hearts22 · 03/05/2018 11:08

Hi ladies!
Could I join this thread please? New to MN and first baby due on 6th June. Didn’t find out until nearly 20 weeks so it still feels quite surreal!

ClareB83 · 03/05/2018 11:09

Hi @Mummyloves09 you're doing so well coping with NICU for so many weeks. It is so intense. I hope you've got some other nice families in your unit, we found it really helpful having some nice couples to chat to in the parents room. Full feeds is great, as is 4lb. Hopefully you can start combining with the bottle soon!

We've just been told we can take them home today as their weights went up enough. I'm sure we'll be here for many hours waiting for paperwork etc and Joe needs his hearing test doing, but at some point today!!!!!!!! Haven't quite let it sink in yet but relieved I didn't have to even argue about it, consultant just said "yup think I'm happy with that".

OP posts:
ClareB83 · 03/05/2018 11:12

Yes @ElizabethLemon it is Labetelol. Made me vomit everywhere the first time I had it before the boys were born. Now it seems to make me tired for half hour after taking and makes me prone to the shakes when tired. Sorry your feeling rubbish too. I miss ibuprofen, still can't take it because of the PE.

Welcome @Hearts22!

OP posts:
Hearts22 · 03/05/2018 11:14

Thank you @clareB83 and huge congratulations to you!

ElizabethLemon · 03/05/2018 11:24

Excellent news Clare! It’ll be so lovely to settle into being a family of 4 at home.

I remember the tiredness and feeling a bit fuzzy, hopefully you won’t have to be on it much longer.

Wow @Hearts22 that must have been a bit of a shock. Welcome!

Shutupanddance1 · 03/05/2018 11:39

@Mummyloves09 - fab update, great news that your girl is getting bigger and stronger all the time!

@clareb83 congratulations on taking the boys home! That’s amazing!

I’ve 6 more weeks to go and had a horrid 4 hour GD test this morning. Doc is gonna let me know in a few hours the results as they have lab on site. Think if it comes back positive for GD I may cry - I nearly cried this morning when I went in and they told me I couldn’t eat for another 3 hours.

Had a 30 min fetal monitoring as well as Dr was concerned about oxygenation levels - really just want to have a quiet afternoon now and try not to worry too much about everything.

ClareB83 · 03/05/2018 11:43

I got so sick of that feral monitoring machine last week @Shutupanddance1. Baby just wriggles a bit and you have to reposition it and if you had enough BH at the same time it is so uncomfortable!

OP posts:
Hearts22 · 03/05/2018 11:53

Good luck @Shutupanddance1 @ElizabethLemon yes it was quite a shock! We were starting to think about TTC though so it was a pleasant surprise. I didn’t show at all until about 24 weeks then bam, there’s no mistaking it now!
I’ve had braxton hicks for the last few days, stupid question but I’m guessing real labour feels different right?

ClareB83 · 03/05/2018 12:10

I wouldn't know!

But my BH were tight and uncomfortable rather than painful.

OP posts:
Hearts22 · 03/05/2018 12:27

Yeah they’re definitely tight rather than painful. Thanks Clare!
Just noticed my first post is wrong, it should say I’m due on 26th June.

jadeward89 · 03/05/2018 14:03

Congratulations @Hearts22. @ClareB83 that’s brilliant news that you can bring them home today 😊
I’m struggling to walk properly today, been having pain in my pelvis for ages so nothing new but hard work. I swear baby is trying to tickle/grab at my cervix odd as it sounds haha

HoneyBee03 · 03/05/2018 14:43

Congrats @ClareB83 on bringing the boys home today! So pleased for you.

And great to hear an update from you @mummyloves. Glad your little girl is doing well. Would she be able to go home sooner if she puts on weight and things before June? I guess she's in the right place for now and being well looked after.

I'm feeling crap today. I've got a painful nerve in my foot that makes walking very difficult, the Braxton Hicks I thought I'd got away with seem to have really kicked in, and my tailbone is aching so much when I stand up and sit down. I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself, and me and my partner have had a few arguments over silly things because moving house and prepping for the baby is getting a bit stressful! Not in the mindset to be stuck at my desk. I need my duvet!

WreckItRach · 03/05/2018 16:31

Congratulations @ClareB83 ! How exciting for you all!!

@Mummyloves09 that sounds really positive. You are doing so well coping with NICU for that long!

@HoneyBee03 that sounds awful, bless you, try and take it easy this evening and rest.

My bump goes really tight and heavy when I go for walks, is that Braxton Hicks it just baby moving position?

Cookie1831 · 03/05/2018 17:04

Stupid question how do you do the at thing to tag someone?!!!
Welcome hearts we are due date twins Smile
Brilliant news about the Max and Joe getting home and thanks for the update mummyloves you are doing amazing!
Yes Braxton Hicks are more tight I found real contractions have more of a period intense cramps nature to them and radiated to my bum too but difficult to tell the difference to start with but my god they do ramp up and you will know!

Northernbeachbum · 03/05/2018 17:46

@cookie1831 you just type that as I've written it, easy as that Smile

@clareb83 I hope you and the boys are safely cuddled up at home!! They've done so well to be getting out already

@mummyloves09 amayah sounds to be doing so Well. I hope you're making sure to look after yourself too, I know it's a lot easier said than done

So glad someone else how you can tell the difference as I wasn't sure the other night but it was definitely bump tightening
