Huge congratulations @ClareB83. So glad your little boys are here safe and sound. I'm sure they will be taken good care of on NICU. Hope you get to hold them soon. Hope you are recovering and feeling better from the c-section and pre-eclampsia. xx

ClareB83 · 26/04/2018 01:21

Finally got to see my boys about 10pm, bit awkward cuddles as they and me are covered in wires and tubes still, but actually we're all doing pretty well and it was amazing.

My DH was amazing too with all of us and I'm too knackered now to explain it all properly but wanted to say hi and thanks!

They're so little and gorgeous.

Lovely news Clare. Hope you managed to get a good night sleep and I bet the boys will be excited to see you again

Cookie1831 · 26/04/2018 09:14

Aw I bet they are cuties! Hope you continue to feel better xx

ElizabethLemon · 26/04/2018 19:37

I hope you’re feeling ok Clare and your boys are doing well.

I’ve had such a long stressful day and feeling very sorry for myself, wishing I could have a few glasses of wine. It was my penultimate day at work and it was a shit show from the beginning, I had to deal with social services and the police before 10am. I had so many emails to send and so many loose ends to tie up but barely got a chance and I’m only in for a few hours tomorrow. Then i got home and the plumber had been and made a huge mess that I had to clear up so ds could have a bath. Ds is a bit under the weather and behaving like a toad, I shouted and now feel guilty. And I am so so tired and my feet hurt 😩😫!

SparklesandBubbles · 26/04/2018 20:48

@ElizabethLemon sorry to hear you've had a rubbish day. I'm so glad I'm not working full time at the moment (that said I have a backlog to get through before next). My DS has also been under the weather and last 3 nights has wanted to sleep in with me - meaning I don't sleep as well either. It's so hard dealing with a poorly little one at the best of times let alone when you are heavily pregnant. I totally feel your pain. Put your feet up - and if you fancy a small glass of wine then have one. Or go and have a lovely relaxing bath (that you've made all nice and clean!). Sending hugs x

Northernbeachbum · 26/04/2018 20:53

@ElizabethLemon I had a similar day but didn't get home to the plumber mess and poorly boy so I don't know how you are awake still. 4 weeks left of work.....god knows how I'm going to make it but at least there's a bank hol in there

ElizabethLemon · 26/04/2018 22:27

@SparklesandBubbles @Northernbeachbum thanks both, I’m sorry you’re dealing with sick children and work stress too.

I had a big cuddle with ds before he fell asleep and felt a bit better. He’s been so patient and understanding when I’ve been exhausted and a bit stressy, he’s such a good boy. I’m hoping I’ll be able to relax a bit once I’ve finished work but I have a to do list as long as my arm!

ClareB83 · 26/04/2018 23:00

Today has been so long and crazy. Started the day so incapacitated with wires and catheters etc. But got up and moving, so much I'm now on a regular ward. Feeling exhausted now though.

Spent more time with boys today and expressed some more colostrum. Everyone seems amazed by this whereas I feel guilty strangers are caring for my babies while I have a shower, eat etc.

Quiet cuddles with me, DH and boys definitely the highlight of the day.

So glad you got to hold them! Don’t feel guilty, you will be doing lots when you’re able to but you need to get better

Northernbeachbum · 27/04/2018 07:46

Echo what rockinrobin says, make sure you're taking it easy and you'll be back up to normal soon. Hope you manage a day of plenty of cuddles with you all today

HoneyBee03 · 27/04/2018 10:09

Sorry to hear some of you ladies are having tough days with work and the little ones! I'm pregnant with my first, I haven't thought much about how it would be doing it the second time around. Hats off to you!

@Clare how long will you and the boys be kept in hospital? Have they given you any indication, or is it a case of waiting until they're strong and big enough? You sound like you're all being well looked after.

I've started feeling really heavy this week. I'm 31 weeks and had a growth scan yesterday because my bump is small, I could easily get away with saying I'm only 20 weeks and can still hide it under baggy clothes! Turns out the baby is a very normal size and weight for my dates, so it's strange to feel so heavy and having to move so slowly when I don't have a huge belly. I'm moving house next week, so that will be fun! Will brush up on my delegating and finger pointing skills :)

SparklesandBubbles · 27/04/2018 12:31

@HoneyBee03 good luck with moving house - you are brave moving at this stage but it will be great to be settled in a new place for when little one is born. Are you moving area too?

@ClareB83 glad you had cuddles with your boys and hope you get lots more today. I agree with others - you will soon be doing everything so I would take all the help you can get right now to recuperate as much as possible.

I had my 36 week scan just now and thank goodness baby is now head down and no longer breech - such a relief and I'm just praying it doesn't turn again. Weighing at 6lb10oz. I have no idea if this is normal or not but at least it's within the range on the growth chart.

HoneyBee03 · 27/04/2018 15:29

@SparklesandBubbles the new place is in the village we currently live in, so most of the moving will be done in car loads as it's only a 5 minute drive around the other side of the lake :) Also surrounded by lovely friends and family who are keen to help! Excited to unpack the baby stuff out of the carrier bags and boxes it's been living in.

Congrats on your baby successfully spinning itself into position! According to my scan my little one is exactly half the weight yours is at now. Amazing how much they grow in the final weeks!

SparklesandBubbles · 27/04/2018 17:02

@HoneyBee03 that sounds like the perfect move - glad you've got lots of people to help you.
Just had a look at my notes and at 32 weeks it was 4lb 10oz so it really has been growing! Let's hope it doesn't grow too much more before it's born Confused

ClareB83 · 28/04/2018 12:32

I've been discharged now but both boys will be in a while longer. Starting to get our head around what being SCBU parents means and sorting out routines etc.

I expect them to be in at least a couple of weeks. Hoping I can physically recover a bit by then as I feel pretty awful. I'm assuming it's the pre eclampsia making it so bad but I don't know, people keep saying how well I did to be mobile so quickly. But you have to when your babies are on another ward!
