Pregnant joggers, what is this madness! I'm pleased I'm still walking a lot and occassionallly swimming!

Normally I love the hot weather but not being able to lie in the sunshine comfortably means its much less appealling this year

I'm also really starting to struggle with tiredness at work, I average 200-400 driving miles a day and its starting to take its toll. Not sure what I can ask of work to adapt it to make it easier as my job is visiting people. Might just have to accept it for the next few weeks.

ClareB83 · 20/04/2018 16:05

Woo hoo just got through what I knew would be the hardest work week in this pregnancy: feeling huge, hot, moving offices, away day etc.

Finished it off with a 1-2-1 where my boss said I don't have to come in next week at all if I don't want to - yay!

I still might go in for a team lunch on Tuesday but it's nice to know I don't have to.

On the home straight now Clare.

I keep on flitting between being petrified or excited about having a baby this week.

I love the warmth and I’m no more uncomfortable but just hoping to avoid swelling up too much! It was a nightmare last time and the night sweats after were a shocker Blush

Cookie1831 · 20/04/2018 22:25

Sounds fab clare I have another 4 weeks of work and feels like ages!

Northernbeachbum · 21/04/2018 08:15

Your boss sounds fab @clareb83!! I'm the same as you @cookie1831, 4 weeks to go......Not quite sure how I'm going to last it but we will see

My body has decided to get me used to early mornings and woke me up pre 6 today, apparently lie ins are already a thing of the past

ElizabethLemon · 21/04/2018 09:16

Well done Clare, that sounds like it was an intense week!

I’ve got 4 days at work next week and then that’s it! I feel a bit sad about it but also can’t wait, I have so much to do next week though, lots of loose ends to tie up etc.

Robin, my feet/ankles were huge yesterday when I got in from work. It looked like tree trunks sticking out from under my dress 😳.

ClareB83 · 21/04/2018 10:37

Had a bit of a shitty evening/morning after my upbeat work day.

Realised I hadn't definitely felt twin 2 since the morning and he's usually the most active one. Took ages until he woke up and got kicking and has since been as active as normal, but really freaked me out. So close to going into hospital for monitoring. Felt a bit down all evening and DH tried to be nice saying how we are in it together etc but we're not really - he's not responsible for monitoring movements and he didn't get home from work until late (again) by which time twin 2 was on the move.

Then I blubbed this morning about how much my body hurts everywhere even when sleeping. Think I was actually more down about DH working at the weekend again. I know he's trying to get work sorted so he can take paternity leave in peace but I miss him. He is off tomorrow though.

@clareb83 that sounds a tough evening! I think it's hard for them to understand how responsible you feel for keeping an eye on movement. Baby has changed it's wriggling times of day here which has caused me a few hours of stress. You're doing so Well growing two babies, I think it's more thab fair to have the down moments too

Cookie1831 · 21/04/2018 11:28

Oh clare you poor thing totally understandable, no matter how understanding a partner is they will never understand he maternal angst, hormones and aches we are all going through and Never mind the ruined bodies afterwards 🙈 make sure and go get checked if you do get worried again, you deserve double the treats of the rest of us bless you! Xx

ClareB83 · 21/04/2018 12:18

Thanks ladies. I am feeling a bit better sat in the garden with the sunshine. Had a nice chat with my mum too.

On the ruined bodies point - I wasn't exactly slim before being pregnant but I was ok with my slightly squishy tum. However instead of being spread out over my stomach the fat has now collected together all at the bottom of my bump. Is this normal? I'm not a fan of how it looks and starting to think I might need to budget for a tummy tuck in a few years (when we're sure we're not doing this again). Or do you think it'll spread back out again eventually?

OP posts:
ElizabethLemon · 21/04/2018 14:53

@ClareB83 I’m wasn’t slim before pg either and still had a tum from the 1st (who is 7 😐). Since I’ve been pregnant my belly fat has definitely moved down to make way for the harder bump.

I think it’s natural to have a bit of an overhang after pregnancy but I definitely noticed my tummy shrinking and becoming more even when I was consciously dieting and exercising so you won’t necessarily be stuck with it!

ClareB83 · 21/04/2018 15:49

Ok cool thanks @ElizabethLemon - I'm happy to carry around my c section scar and stretch marks and other (saggy) badges of honour from pregnancy, but I'd still like my general shape back at some point.

Nesting has arrived. I’m fairly sure this didn’t happen with ds. I couldn’t stop yesterday, even though I was tired and aching I was sweeping the patio at 9pm Grin

Northernbeachbum · 22/04/2018 10:52

@rockinrobintweets would you like to come sort my house out too.....I can pay in tea and cake

RockinRobinTweets · 22/04/2018 17:43

northern 😂 I’ve been weeding, washing and even ironing. It’s most strange

SparklesandBubbles · 22/04/2018 18:27

@ClareB83 glad you've got an understanding boss - definitely take the time off if you feel like it. I've also felt like baby hasn't been moving quite as much the last couple of days. It is still moving though so I haven't gone in yet. I seem to remember with my first he definitely had times when he was a bit quieter and I've definitely felt pretty exhausted this week. Maybe twin 2 wasn't moving as much because you've had a super busy week with work. Glad it started to wriggle though x

@Northernbeachbum I'm usually a really deep sleeper and I remember with my first i seemed to have things like carpal tunnel that would get me used to being woken up several times in the night! This time round I have a toddler to contend with! He slept in with me last night as he was scared of the thunder and lightening.

SparklesandBubbles · 22/04/2018 18:34

I found after my first it took a bit longer to get rid of the baby weight - I think the whole breastfeeding helps you loose the weight is a myth. I think my body held on to the fat instead! That said everyone is different and I did also eat copious amounts of cake when I first had my DS which I will try hard not to do this time round. Getting back to exercise is going to be key for me - as it was with DS.

@RockinRobinTweets well done on the nesting. I'm still waiting for mine to kick in!! I'm with @Northernbeachbum - you're welcome round mine anytime to sort me out!!

Watchingmasterchef · 22/04/2018 21:11

I am 32 weeks and have put on 35 pounds! Was determined not to do this but I am so hungry all the time ! I met a woman with virtually the same due date (three days after mine) who looked half the size and looked so comfortable and nice. feel ridiculous

RockinRobinTweets · 22/04/2018 21:22

watching I can assure you that all 7-8 months pregnant women feel huge. I’ve put on 9lbs since booking in and am a waddling whale

Shutupanddance1 · 23/04/2018 07:29

@Watchingmasterchef - I put on 4 stone with my last pregnancy and lost it all within the first year, don’t worry about it. I did BF but due to frequently forgetting to eat, I’m assuming that’s why I lost it all.

I think I’ve put on about 12kg this time round (currently 33 weeks) and tbh, not arsed about it Grin.

Cookie1831 · 23/04/2018 09:12

I think I am about the 2 stone mark too and I don’t care 😂 am enjoying myself!!

Northernbeachbum · 23/04/2018 09:35

@rockinrobintweets I wish I had your motivation!!!

I have no idea what I've gained, it'll be a lot as I was very very active before.....I am too scared of the scales

jadeward89 · 23/04/2018 11:27

Thanks to my HG I lost around 6kg in the first two months of the pregnancy and I think I have put that back on (mostly) though with still being sick I’m not actually sure how much weight I’ve put on/lost. Having to go to my antenatal assessment unit this afternoon because baby’s movements have completely changed. Sudden rapid movement earlier but then nothing and baby is usually really active whilst I’m chilling 😕 x

Cookie1831 · 23/04/2018 12:18

Good luck jade keep us posted x

Northernbeachbum · 23/04/2018 12:55

Fingers crossed @jadeward89
