Hi ladies,

Glad to see you are all progressing nicely and getting things in order for the bouncing bundles of joy due in june.

I will keep on checking in to see the birth announcements.

Take care of yourselves x

Heregoeseverything · 12/04/2018 23:09

Good to hear from you @Mummyloves09 , how are you and little Amayah? x

Cookie1831 · 13/04/2018 10:03

Yay mummyloves thanks for popping in how are you getting on? X

ElizabethLemon · 13/04/2018 16:32

@Mummyloves09 👋🏼, hope everything is going well with Amayah!

It seems like some of the babies on this thread will be here very soon, very exciting!

I had a total panic and thought I was going into labour last night. I had awful period type pains and a rock hard bump on and off for a couple of hours, eventually it went away and I was able to get some sleep. I was convinced at one point that I was going to have to go into hospital and my H wanted to call an ambulance 😅. I feel fine today but I have chucked some stuff in a bag and we’ve agreed to build the crib this weekend as last night made me realise how unprepared we are!

SparklesandBubbles · 13/04/2018 17:15

@Mummyloves09 hope you and Anayah are doing well?

@ElizabethLemon - that must have been scary! I suddenly thought I must get my Mum to bring up our crib. She's 2.5hrs away and also going away to Spain from 29 April-10 May so I want to get it before she goes just in case! Glad you are feeling ok today - probably your body just beginning o get ready!

Cookie1831 · 13/04/2018 19:58

How many weeks are you elizabeth? I get really strong Brixton Hicks like that my belly is so tight and sore in the evenings like a big achy watermelon I really don’t know how I am going to manage another 10 weeks I feel like I could burst!

ClareB83 · 13/04/2018 20:16

Braxton Hicks combined with restless babies kept me up til 1am last night too.

I keep thinking 'if I went into labour now how would me, DH and my notes get to hospital' and then when one of us changes location thinking it all over again.

@SparklesandBubbles I think I’ve been ready blasé up until now about getting things sorted but now feel a bit more proactive!

@Cookie1831 I’m 33 weeks on Sunday. I think it probably was BH but I can’t really remember them from my 1st. But yes a big hard sore belly is not very nice, I can’t imagine my muscles and skin can take much more 🤣.

RockinRobinTweets · 13/04/2018 20:59

I’ve had lots of bh for quite a long time in this pregnancy. The top of my bump has been very sore too but I’m not sure why that is, probably stretching or gas. I do remember getting to this stage last time and being up at nighttime a bit with both complaints.

Roll on mat leave and naps!

princesspxx · 13/04/2018 21:03

Hi ladies Smile my first pregnancy due on 18th June with a little girl, Rosie Flowers

I’m bloody knackered Grin

ClareB83 · 13/04/2018 21:04

Hi @princesspxx! Congratulations!

princesspxx · 13/04/2018 21:06

Just been scrolling through the thread I haven’t had BH for a few weeks is that normal? I used to feel them quite a bit now I just get the odd one.

Had a bit of a scare today (baby is fine!!) but I fell down the stairs and landed on my arse. I’m just glad my bum took the impact but I’m feeling it now Hmm

jadeward89 · 13/04/2018 21:26

Really grateful that I haven’t had any BH, I say this now and I’ll probably start getting them 😆
I just keep feeling sick/being sick and I seem to constantly have heart burn, even water sets it off. I’ve had approx 10 weeks of little sickness and now it seems to have come back with a vengeance 😞
Hi @Princesspxx congratulations

SparklesandBubbles · 13/04/2018 22:26

@ElizabethLemon I agree - I've been a bit too relaxed. Suddenly looking at my diary it all became very real and I thought I better get everything sorted - perhaps nesting is finally kicking in!! I've been so exhausted though - my toddler has been a bit of a nightmare sleeping wise recently which is not helping!!

Welcome @princesspxx sorry to hear about your fall but glad everything's ok. I've fallen twice in this pregnancy - revisiting what grazed knees are like!!

@jadeward89 Sickness and heartburn is the worst. I've had horrible heartburn too - I'm eating Rennie's like they are sweets!! Often feeling sick in the evenings - think maybe I've been eating too much in one go and body can't cope.

jadeward89 · 13/04/2018 22:38

@Sparklesandbubbles Dh keeps joking that we should take out shares in Gaviscon. Think I have 4 big packs open at various locations around the house/in my handbag etc, the doctors have also given me anti-reflux tablets because of how bad it gets at night.
I loved the chewy rennies (like chewing gum just edible) when I was pregnant with my youngest but I can’t find them now.
I still haven’t got a cot but we have got a Moses basket for the time being, our room isn’t huge so I’m trying not to have too much taking up space.

Mummyloves09 · 14/04/2018 06:19

Good morning ladies,
Baby Amayah is doing very well, she is off the ventilator breathing for herself with a nasal device called optiflow. She is on full feeds (She is fed through a tube) and is one room away (moved from intensive care to high dependency care) from going home. She isn't on any meds apart from vitamins, caffeine and sodium etc. She is now 3lbs. I'm actually amazed how she has suddenly turned around.

Lovely ladies I will check in soon maybe in May. So babies may have arrived. Please all take care.

P.s. get you Braxton hicks checked if your in lots of pain etc. Remember all that time I thought it was Braxton hicks, mines wasn't.

Shutupanddance1 · 14/04/2018 07:08

@Mummyloves09 - congratulations and hopefully your little family will be able to get home soon Flowers

I haven’t had any BH. I didn’t have any with my first pregnancy either, starting to worry if my body will actually know what labor is this time round Confused

I’ve also realised yesterday that it’s 2 calendar months til the baby arrives and I need to start getting actually prepared! Got a family fix base second hand for the car seat we wanna buy, it did come with a seat but I’m not keen on it as it’a a horrid brown color Blush

I’ve did a bit of prep for DD1 - I’ve written down her routine so whoever has her knows what she should be doing on what days. I also pre booked our newborn photo shoot - not a necessity but last time I had no nice photos of us together and I’m determined we will have something nice to look at this time round Grin

skenn3285 · 14/04/2018 10:40

@Mummyloves09 so good to hear your update! Great news x

SylvesterTheCat · 14/04/2018 11:00

Hello mums-to-be (and @mummyloves09!!How wonderful to hear all is well with you). Hope you're all going well.

Haven't been on here for months but just catching up now.

@princesspxx I'm pleased to hear I'm not the only one without Braxton Hicks- I keep reading about how they'll become more frequent etc but, at 32 weeks, I'm not aware that I've had any at all yet. Just weird asymmetrical belly movements from baby.

Anyone else having to buy liners "for those oops moments"? I had a bad cough, now settling down, which I think set it all off.
...and I was so enjoying not having to wear these sorts of things for protection from AF Confused but I'm just so paranoid about smelling like piss!

Watchingmasterchef · 14/04/2018 11:05

Been on omeprazole for4 days and gone from drinking Alot of gaviscon and being unable to lie flat , to no gaviscon at all in four days ! Like a miracle cure for acid reflux . Didn’t feel it was worth a gp appointment so phoned surgery and dr called back and prescribed me over the phone

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 14/04/2018 12:26

@Mummyloves09 So glad to hear your good news, hope Amayah will be home with you soon.

Another one here who has never had braxton hicks either in my first pregnancy (where I did labour all the way to 10 cms) or this one. On the positive side, never had heart burn either.

I feel like June is sneaking up on me though. Need to get more things done whilst I can. Sent dh out to softplay with ds this morning so I could tidy up... I've watched Location Location Location and eaten mini cheddars.

Northernbeachbum · 14/04/2018 13:14

No Braxton hicks here I don't Think, that or I've not noticed them.

I don't care sneeze or cough hard unless on the loo @Sylvesterthecat So you're not alone

ClareB83 · 14/04/2018 14:35

Between bleeding in the first and second trimester and generally an enthusiastic downstairs I've used more sanitary products while pregnant than I did before!

OP posts:
SparklesandBubbles · 14/04/2018 15:28

@jadeward89 I hadn't thought about getting anti-reflux tablets from GP. I've just been battling through and propping myself up a bit which seems to help a little.

@Mummyloves09 so glad Amayah is doing well and you are progressing up the rooms. Fingers crossed it won't be too long before you get to go home. Bet you can't wait!

@Shutupanddance1 Very good idea about writing down DCs routine. I must do that too as it will make life a lot easier should I need a longer stay in hospital for any reason. I was also thinking about doing a newborn shoot as we didn't with DS (I took a ton of photos but no professional ones till he was 8 weeks)

I too am worrying that my body won't know what to do - natural contractions never started with First and I had to be induced in the end.

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine. We went to Kew Gardens this morning which was so beautiful. I'm currently sat in the car while DS sleeps (he refused to sleep in the buggy whilst at Kew!!).

jadeward89 · 14/04/2018 16:32

@SparklesandBubbles I only went to the dr after I had woken up choking a couple of times even though I was elevated (falling asleep on the sofa whilst kids are at school mostly) I also had to see her for other reasons too including my antidepressants. I can’t eat tomato soup because of the reflux now 😕
I never had a newborn shoot with any of mine, I have lots of photos of them but none professional. I’m debating getting them done with all 4 children but I’m still not sure.

I keep thinking about everything that I still need to do including packing things for the 3 kids so that no matter when I have the baby whoever comes over/picks them up from school will have everything that they need. But I’m stressing that I don’t know when the baby will come or what the kids will need, poor DH keeps finding me sobbing because I’m stressing over all the little things and getting nowhere.
Sorry that ended up being longer than i intended
