@Belles86 Hi! I've been much better over the past few days. Still quite tired in the afternoon but nothing compared to the absolute exhaustion I felt last week when I was ready to go to bed at 2pm. Nausea has been gone for about a week with only occasional light queasiness. Haven't really put on any weight yet and my "bump" only looks like I have a bit of bloating. YES to sluggishness! I'd say my main symptom right now is an absolute lack of motivation to do anything apart from sit around and eat pasta/pizza. I'm off to Pilates in an hour though so need to drag myself out of the house (I work from home). When do you have your first scan?

RaliaMusca · 19/03/2018 16:08

@Latenightreader I know exactly how you feel. My symptoms are constantly on and off, not very reassuring. But I wouldn't read too much into it, a lack of symptoms is no indication of anything being wrong.
We have so far told close family (parents and siblings) and three of our closest friends. As many, I am anxious that the first scan will produce bad news but I guess it's just part of the journey. I'm just trying to distract myself as best as I can.

RhiBee29 · 19/03/2018 16:38

Urgh @EyeBaggage hope you're feeling better.

@Latenightreader totally on knicker watch here, I hate going for a wee these days!

Belles86 · 19/03/2018 17:01

@RaliaMusca am impressed my Pilates classes! Actually, I’m planning on getting back into the gym post 12 weeks, not to get ripped or anything crazy but more just to keep my growing arse in check 😂 scan a week today, v excited but totally have the feeling that there will be nothing there and it’s all been in my head..

BarryTheKestrel · 19/03/2018 17:09

I'm really struggling to keep it a secret and it's going to be even harder with a big family do over Easter! I'm 10+3 now, scan is on the 29th but we don't want to tell anyone (other than our mums, and my work no one knows) because we don't want DD to find out from anyone but us and are waiting for a private scan at 16 weeks to hopefully tell her if she's having a brother or sister.

I feel so awful 99% of the time with nausea and exhaustion and just want to curl up in a ball, hence having to tell work.

One of my friends has just announced she's 16 weeks and is having a boy and I want time to speed up so I can celebrate with her. She keeps saying she wishes one of the group was pregnant with her! Little does she know... 😂

EffRam · 19/03/2018 17:28

I'm 8+5 and only just started feeling properly nauseous over the last few days. It's not awful but I definitely feel off! Am shattered too. Currently curled up on the sofa with the dog on my feet! Hope everyone is getting on ok.

DwangelaForever · 19/03/2018 18:14

First off .. I'm forever grateful to be pregnant again but today I am feeling rough 😷

I spent a good half hour chucking up yellow bile when I got up this morning (which resulted in lots of little bruises around my eyes) , I've had a weird pain in my side all day and I just have no energy to run after my 18 month old DD I feel like a crappy mum to her today 😢.

I was off work due to the st Patrick's day Bank holiday thankfully (N.ireland) so we went to visit my mum who helped me occupy her all morning, we both went for an afternoon nap when we came home and then chilled and watched tv this afternoon 🙈 I just can't wait for my energy to be back and I can do things like take her to park etc!

hudsquart · 19/03/2018 19:29

Hello! Please can I join your baby bus?

New here and new to pregnancy - 10+4 and booked in, but scan not until 5 April so still ages to go. Definitely all feels like I just made it all up at this stage, so will be a relief to know whether it's real or not!

Symptoms have been quite mild really - nausea, tired, disliking veg (hating squashes in particular) and insane need for carbs and beige food!

caoraich · 19/03/2018 20:36

Welcome @hudsquart !

Today I've been sooo anxious - I weighed myself for the first time in 6 weeks and I've lost 17lb Shock - was a bit overweight before but not now! I don't actually look much different, think it must be all muscle loss from the lying around being exhausted Sad I sat down and calculated how much I've been able to eat in the last 3 days and it's about 1200 calories, not all of which I've kept down. I guess that'll do it, too...

Have my booking appt tomorrow - can anyone go through exactly what happens at it?? I have been googling but different sites say different things and I'm weirdly nervous. I HATE being a "patient"!

@caoraich I haven't had my booking appointment yet for this pregnancy but like a PP said it tends to be quite an administrative affair - there's nothing invasive. There will be a lot of questions about you and your immediate family's medical history and some advice about looking after yourself and what to do if there's a problem. If you go with your partner they might ask them to leave the room while they talk to you about domestic violence...I was so shocked by that but learnt that sadly it's more common than you think when a woman's expecting. You'll also get a big file of info/your details/upcoming appt (rough) schedule that you need to take with you to all appointments. Hope your booking appt goes well!

RaliaMusca · 20/03/2018 12:23

@hudsquart your symptoms sound exactly like mine, only that my biggest aversion is lettuce. Random, I know. Not good with other veg either right now. It's pasta, rice, bread and pizza in all variations right now. Other than that, nothing major. I had some nausea and tiredness for a few weeks but that's almost gone now. I'll try and make the most of it and be more active again whilst I can (haven't been to the gym in about a month).

The wait for the first scan is so agonising! It definitely doesn't feel real yet at all. Also, my bloating has gone down significantly over the last couple of days so my tiny bump has nearly vanished.

@caoriach Sorry to hear you've been feeling so rotten. Fingers crossed you'll come out of the worst phase soon. I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and my all-day nausea has definitely gone down a lot. My booking appointment was actually quite fun. Had a lovely, chatty midwife. We went through my medical and family history, took bloods, made me stand on the scales etc. Nothing scary. She also asked questions about mental health and my family situation, where to seek help or assistance if I had any concerns. I was also given an information booklet and signed an application form for my NHS maternity exemption card, which gives you access to free dental care, free prescriptions and entry to some local swimming pools (although this may vary depending on where you live), which arrived in the post today.

Unicornchaser · 20/03/2018 14:04

I feel like I may curse myself for asking this, but when did everyone's sickness start? I have been nauseous on and off over the last 3 weeks but had no sickness yet. Feel like it's just going to hit me like a train one day because of this!
I'm 8 weeks today and got a private scan tomorrow! NHS scan isn't until I'm 13 weeks, I'm so anxious with this being my first pregnancy that I couldn't wait that long!

Unicornchaser · 20/03/2018 14:12

P.s sorry to read so many are suffering badly just now! Hope it all smoothes out soon for you all!

ladydolly · 20/03/2018 15:43

unicornchaser I was never actually sick with my dd or this pregnancy but the nausea has been overwhelming with both. Dd started at 3 weeks (seriously) and vastly improved at 11/12 weeks, gone by 15. This time it didn't start until about 7/8 weeks and peaked at 11 weeks, just starting to ease at 12 weeks.

I had a missed miscarriage last year and I felt exactly the same as I did with my first pregnancy, I had no idea anything was wrong so symptoms aren't always an indicator.
I'm sure you are just one of the lucky ones, enjoy it!! Good luck for tomorrow 😀

RaliaMusca · 20/03/2018 15:44

@Unicornchaser I haven't had any proper sickness, as in I haven't actually been sick. From around 6 to 10 weeks I had all-day nausea, which now at 12 weeks has largely gone away. I count myself very lucky! Especially as I usually have a very sensitive stomach so was convinced I'd get it bad. I guess it could always still hit me at a later stage, who knows... For now, we should be happy not to suffer too much!
Good luck for your scan tomorrow, how exciting!

Peanutbutterkitkat · 20/03/2018 16:31

Hello to the new thread. Sorry I've not been keeping up as since I last posted I've been diagnosed with HG and I'm as sick as a dog and can't remember what I said and what I haven't as I'm just getting through each day at the moment. Fed up with it. I had it with my last pg so I know how to care for myself but it sucks. Had our early scan too though in the midst of that and all good so there is a positive there somewhere. Hope everyone doing well!

Peanutbutterkitkat · 20/03/2018 16:34

Unicorn my sickness got bad at about 6 weeks ish but I'd been feeling weird since I got the BFP tbh! It started with aversions and smells and then feeling ill first thing to constant nausea and then how I am now. That said, I knew it was likely I'd have HG again and most people I know with mild to moderate sickness start to feel ill around 7 or 8 weeks. I suspect my body ramps up and goes for it with the nausea and sickness early on. Boohoo.

Unicornchaser · 20/03/2018 16:52

Oh gosh @Peanutbutterkitkat that sounds horrible for you! Hope it eases off soon, did it last throughout your last pregnancy?

Think I will just do as the others have said and count myself one of the lucky ones and keep my fingers crossed I don't wake up with it suddenly! My biggest problem just now is the tiredness. I can't generally get to sleep before 10.30ish so just getting my normal 7hours but so abnormally tired all day! But still, such a minor complaint to what some of you ladies are suffering with so ill keep my mouth zipped!

Anban · 20/03/2018 16:52

I am so fed up of feeling unwell. This bean better be sticky!
Just tidied the lounge- put away a few things and straightened the throw and I am now exhausted. My mum is gonna start asking questions soon, spending so many days laying down and doing nout but read. Fortunately hubs has also given up alcohol for wl so that gives us a good cover up.

Not actually been sick but certainly had a few major waves and then a more constant low level nausea. I am mostly living on potato products Grin

Got mw app on Monday which will be 9 weeks.

Foolishly got a bit over excited and tried to hear bean's heartbeat with our stephoscope yesterday Blush

Anban · 20/03/2018 16:53

Add on: i have a phobia of being sick so I am feeling so so sorry for all you ladies with hg. Hope it passed soon!

Peanutbutterkitkat · 20/03/2018 16:57

Hey Unicorn last time I had a variation of sickness all the way through Sad but it eased off around 16 to 18 weeks where it was just morning and night sickness and then somewhere in the 3rd trimester it went and I was able to eat normally. Bliss. Came back a bit nearer birth but think that was more reflux issues. I'm certainly not typical though. I just don't think my body likes pregnancy. Can't say I disagree Wink I'm just not very good at being pregnant!!!!!!

RaliaMusca · 20/03/2018 17:21

@Anban Hah, that sounds so familiar! A couple of weeks ago when I hoovered our (tiny!) flat, it took me about half an hour because I was so slow and then I had to have a nap because I was exhausted. So glad I'm slowly getting my energy back.

Melamine · 20/03/2018 22:11

Sorry everyone who’s feeling so crappy? I feel bad for asking but... anyone else not really having many symptoms? I’m exhausted & get slightly nauseous when hungry but my previously sore boobs have lessened a lot & the twingy cramps I had before have eased off too. Not overly worried but I feel like it’s less common to have fewer symptoms!

Melamine · 20/03/2018 22:12

That wasn’t meant to a question!
