Nope. The only way I get any results is if it's bad. Anything else just goes to the midwife direct and I can ask about it at 20 weeks if I want to know the exact results from the bloods! I think it's a bit harsh and the woman taking my bloods agreed but that's the way it is now where I am (Glasgow).

So now to try and stay calm (hahahaha) and hope for no post in the next 2 weeks!

lovesrunning · 24/04/2018 14:55

Welcome @mintich :)

And congrats on the scan @unicornchaser - such a relief eh. Sure it’ll all be fine.

@rhibee I think yours is tomorrow? Good luck! Been thinking of you.

My form called me out on it today. They’re pretty perceptive - although to be honest it’s getting very obvious - so now the kids at school will all know and now it feels real. Have any other teachers been outed yet?

Also, has anyone else got a feeling either way whether they’re having a boy or girl? I thought pregnant people were nuts to say that before but in my head it’s a boy (of course, I have a 50% chance of being right)...

Hope everyone’s doing ok. @milk I really hope your hip starts to improve now.

RhiBee29 · 24/04/2018 16:41

@lovesrunning yes 9.45 tomorrow, just going to drop DS at nursery and head straight to hospital, should be there by 8.45, parking is a nightmare and they run a one in one out policy in the car park so I'm not risking missing my slot! I was convinced I was having a boy with DS and I was right so I think gut instinct can sometimes be right x

twobambinos · 24/04/2018 17:08

@rhibee29 goodluck tomorrow.

@unicornchaser congrats on today.

@mintich welcome aboard.

@lovesrunning someone asked you straight out if you were expecting? Before you announced? I find that a bit rude.

I have a feeling this baby is a boy so will find out in two weeks. I think i thought it was a boy last time too and it was a girl. But I'm totally convinced this time. Grin but I'd really love either. Because I have two girls I would have no idea what to expect from a boy. But I suppose every child is different anyway.

Physio went fine I'm loaded up on more exercises now and must invest in a tennis ball Grin

mintich · 24/04/2018 17:21

I'm not sure whether it's a boy or girl! I'll find out at 20 weeks. I've been less sick than with my last baby (girl) but my skin has gone mental!! So all in all, no idea!

Doll87 · 24/04/2018 18:20

@lovesrunning I knew I was having a girl, I just had an overriding feeling that I was. So I wasn't surprised when the sonographer (is that the right word/spelling) told us it was a little girl :)

It's my first baby so I can't compare it to anything, just knew :)

ATP1000 · 24/04/2018 18:27

Just had curry ramen at Wagamama, tastebud sensation!! I don’t feel sick when I’m eating / just eaten so I’m eating a lot!! Whatever works 😅

MamaL86 · 24/04/2018 18:45

@lovesrunning funny your form called you out on it! How many weeks are you? Mine haven't guessed yet but we've just told DS who goes to the same school so imagine it may all come out sooner than I'd like!

Just wondering when any teachers on here are planning to start mat leave? Are you planning to take the rest of the academic year off.

Having a bit of a dilemma as DS attends school I work at but really worrying how I'll manage the commute with a newborn. Would be a good 30 mins drive each way in the morning and, on a good day, would be 45 mins each way back in the afternoon. Any thoughts very welcome!

lovesrunning · 24/04/2018 19:20

@rhibee I’m the same - I’d be there an hour early camped out to make sure I don’t miss it (and reduce anxiety of course!).

@twobambinos yep they did! As they’re only 12 I’m letting them off. None of my colleagues have done the same (well not since I’ve actually been pregnant. One asked me after Christmas but I’d eaten a lot Confused). I did find that quite rude!

@mamaL86 only 15 but I seem to have popped out over the weekend! Is this normal? How did DS react? How old is he? Hmm that’s a tough one. Do you have any good friends you could share the school run with and just do every other day? I’m planning to start mat leave on the 4th and go back in for the last two weeks of the year.

lovesrunning · 24/04/2018 19:26

Love hearing about people’s guesses - getting very curious about ours. We should do some sort of experiment and see if more than 50% of us guess correctly. The data might be useful to someone you never know..!

twobambinos · 24/04/2018 19:33

@lovesrunning sorry didn't realise they were kids. Grin

MamaL86 · 24/04/2018 19:38

@lovesrunning your students must be more observant than mine Grin. Having said that, the only colleague that knows the news said another colleague asked her today so must be starting to get obvious!

He's 9 (year 4). We only told him last week but so far so good, although he did say this evening that he didn't want to share me. I think it'll be a little tough on him but mostly I think he's quite excited. Unfortunately none of his friends live anywhere near us so no hope of sharing the school run. Alternative would be to move him to a local school for year 5&6. Just the thought makes me feel doubly guilty but very nervous about a potentially 2 hour round trip every afternoon Confused

MamaL86 · 24/04/2018 19:40

Are most people getting early gender scans? How early are you planning to go?

mintich · 24/04/2018 20:04

No im waiting until the 20 week scan

sophkennedy · 24/04/2018 20:14

Hi everyone, I'm due end of October and I thought joining this group would help me be at ease and calm my anxiety down.

ATP1000 · 24/04/2018 20:39

I’m getting a gender scan next Friday, I’ll be 16 weeks on the day which should be ok. Managed to convince my husband this is a good idea, he wasn’t so keen this time last week!

Belles86 · 24/04/2018 21:35

Suspect having a girl but everyone else thinks boy. FTM so really don’t have a clue! Finding out a month today @ 20 week scan. There should be a January 2019 baby bus soon right? 😬

twobambinos · 24/04/2018 21:45

Welcome @sophkennedy

I'll be finding out at the 20 week scan too 2 weeks to go.

@belles86 I know the January bus is probably started already or soon enough makes it sound like Oct isn't so far away at all

doesthisnamelookgoodonme · 24/04/2018 22:34

I had an early gender scan at 15 weeks and I'm having a boy 💙

FromMaddieToMummy · 24/04/2018 22:52

@MamaL86 I'll be going on maternity leave end of September unless I am too big and uncomfortable. The head was very nice and accommodating. I don't know when I'll be going back. Perhaps at the start of Summer 2?

caoraich · 24/04/2018 22:54

Aww lovely @doesthisnamelookgoodonme !

I've been avoiding all baby discussion recently as suddenly been hit by loads of anxiety about everything! 15 weeks today and actually the hyperemesis has improved a little, 12 week scan was fine and obstetrics are happy so I should be more relaxed but nope nope nope! Anyone else feeling like that?

Good luck today @RhiBee29

weeblefeeble · 25/04/2018 08:48

milknosugar1 I’ve been doing park run the whole way through with no problems. Super slowly (so I’ve lost at least 10 mins off my time Grin ) but pleased to keep going while i can. Although in truth sometimes lately it’s been my own unofficial 5km a bit later in the day because I can’t quite face the 9am start! I have a friend who said they kept jogging up to 6 months so I’m going to give that a go. Agree with you that yoga’s brilliant. Hoping to keep up with that til the end. Just do what you feel your body’s comfortable with x

sophkennedy · 25/04/2018 11:18

Anyone else suffer from bad morning sickness? Been sent home from work 3 times and also had to ring in sick because I couldn't do anything without being sick. How did you get rid of it?
