Trying to remain calm & positive. Have the occasional freak out & meltdown. It's not even next week, bloods being done Weds then probably have to wait another week for the results. Nervous for scan, just praying all is ok in there.

ladydolly · 20/04/2018 16:19

Lovely to hear about all the good scan news!

For those with pain, I had sciatic in my first preg and my midwife said it just needed to ride it out, it's part of pregnancy. I did some research that all said you can't get sciatica from pregnancy. I had it with my first, not had it since and now it's back so that is some weird coincidence.... Hmm anyway, I got reflexology and massage from an alternative therapist who specialised in pregnancy. Really helped. I've already been back in touch with her.

I just did a long trip with work and it was exhausting, I was so tired and jetlagged it was making me feel sick. I have another one in June although that will be less intense, I am worried about it... I'm a broken woman today!

lovesrunning · 21/04/2018 04:28

@ladydolly hopefully by June you might be in that ‘more energy, glowing’ phase that people keep promising me is coming, and you might find it more manageable. Could you let your employer know how you felt this time and see if they could accommodate in some way e.g by making the trip finish on a Friday so you have the weekend to get over it, or working from home/ coming in late the couple of days afterwards to help you get yourself back on track? Or could you arrive a day or two before meetings etc start so you can get in the zone a bit at the start of the trip? Are you flying east or west? Always much better coming back from the West I find; even if I’m shattered by the evening, at least I wake up really early and feel ready for the day. Although in any case whichever way round feels easier you’ll have the opposite at the other end to deal with. Take it easy.

lovesrunning · 21/04/2018 04:31

@rhibee29 I’ve got everything crossed for you. Hope you’re able to distract yourself but that’s always easier said than done eh.

ATP1000 · 21/04/2018 06:42

Good luck @Rhibee, it’s been such a long time to waitfor your results. You’re doing a great job, I’d be having the occasional meltdown too.

I feel doomed...fell over in Sainsbury's car park last night, cut all my knees, didn't land on my tummy and no pain etc but still a bit worried then got home and the little girl next door runs up to me to explain she has Slap Cheek, i know she's not contagious as the rash is visible but bloody hell I need a break!!!

Oh @rhibee, couldn’t agree more with @milknosugar, you really deserve a rest this weekend. I’ve had meltdowns for far lesser reasons, like I can’t decide what to eat and if i don’t eat I feel sick!

Just found this website for maternity work clothes, the work dresses look good.

The cakes went down really well! I’ll attach a pic, Lola’s cupcakes, they were better than I expected. No one had guessed, I must look sick and exhausted more often than I thought 😅

Thats such a cute announcement @ATP1000 and now I really want cake 🍰

@Milknosugar1 DH is in Work today so DS and I are having a day in the garden eating ice creams. Going to suggest tea at the pub tonight and a lazy day tomorrow. Wednesday cannot come quick enough!

lovesrunning · 21/04/2018 15:52

Ooohhh @atp they look scrummy! I agree on the Isabella Oliver stuff :) I had some delivered from eBay second hand for about £8 an item while I was home because I can’t really get good stuff where I live and it looks so comfy I can’t wait to fit in it and not just look... what was the phrase @milk? ‘Bloatyfat’ - which is definitely where I’m at right now.

Doll87 · 21/04/2018 19:29

@ATP1000 wow!!!! They look lovely!

I've been feeling little flutters in my tummy this week, last night I shone a light on my tummy and could feel our little girl wriggling away and could even see my tummy twitching (bit like when you get a random eye twitch) it was amazing! Can't wait to feel proper distinctive kicks ❤️

ATP1000 · 21/04/2018 20:08

Wow @doll87 that’s amazing! Congratulations! How many weeks are you? I’m looking forward to that feeling :)

Doll87 · 21/04/2018 22:06

I'm 17 weeks, so not super strong baby movements but enough to know it's not just wind!!! It is so lovely ❤️ how far along are you? X

justtowarm · 22/04/2018 08:30

@Doll87 it's an amazing feeling isnt it. I could feel it last week but wasn't 100% sure it wasn't wind but proper flutters now, especially if I change temp like getting in/out of the bath.

Doll87 · 22/04/2018 09:53

@justtowarm it's so incredible! Now I'm just looking forward to feeling it more regularly, I start to panic if I don't get the flutters lol!

justtowarm · 22/04/2018 10:22

@Doll87 I know the feeling, I keep finding myself willing the baby to wiggle.

@Milknosugar1 I felt my little boy moving at around 17 weeks which was early as he was my first. I think I remember the midwife telling me it depends on how quickly everything moves out of your pelvis to the areas where you are able to feel the movements.

With exercise I have been having bleeding for a couple of weeks on and off, everything is looking ok with the baby but it has made me reluctant to do anything strenuous.

Doll87 · 22/04/2018 11:43

@Milknosugar1 I'm a regular gym goer but since I feel pregnant I just stopped going as was worried it may cause problems. I have now decided, I'm out of the scary period and want to get these flabby arms and legs looking a little nicer so went for a gym induction yesterday. They showed me what machines I can safely use etc and so I did a little half hour workout yesterday. Has really made a difference to my mental state already! I think I'm going to aim for 2 days a week, swimming and gym. If I can manage more then I will but won't feel bad if I don't. I figure if I keep some kind of Exercise up then it'll be easier after baby is born too to get motivated...well that's the plan lol!

Belles86 · 22/04/2018 12:39

@Milknosugar1 I’m going to the gym later, mainly going to spend time on recumbent bike and walking on treadmill, got hand weights at home for bingo wings. What are you thinking?

Longish update on sciatic/arse pain for anyone suffering. Docs referred to physio which apparently will take 2-3 weeks. Had pregnancy massage yesterday which was nice but didn’t address hip issues. My mum (god bless her) just spent 40 mins basically rubbing my arse/hip (through leggings, I’m not a deviant) and that has been the most helpful yet. Am going to continue with exercise ball and gentle exercise and also see if I can book a prego chiro (as feel oddly cynical about physio working for it).

unicornchaser · 22/04/2018 12:51

Exercise isn't a forfront priority right now which I feel guilty about! Used to gym a few times a week and fairly regular hikes or hill walks.
Today this 'hill' had me looking for a nap spot while walking the dog! Hmm

I have plans for yoga/Pilates/swimming if I ever regain energy and the ability to not get breathless walking up the stairs!

Hi all, it has been a while since I posted on this thread.

I am now 15+4 and still feeling pretty crappy everyday which is frustrating. I was hoping to feel better by now! And to add insult to injury I have a lower back injury which is really painful and a result of my accident at the start of the year. Been seeing an osteopath but still in a lot of pain.

I am currently on holiday in Hurghada for 2 weeks and hoping that some sun and rest will help my ailments!

ladydolly · 22/04/2018 14:10

I'm doing prego pilates and hope to get back to swimming soon but the nausea is beating me for now. In the summer my main exercise is my allotment, I went down for an hour this morning and managed to dig and plant my potatoes and (manual) mow half of it, when I got back dp said I looked like I'd gone for a massive run! You're right though, does wonders for state of mind.
Swimming can be bad for those with SPD so be careful ladies.
