It's torture huh @rhibee! At least the wait between this one and the 20 week won't be quite as bad this way

MamaL86 · 10/04/2018 19:22

Congratulations everyone who has had scans over the last few days Flowers. All starting to feel very real! We've been away for a couple of weeks so don't even know when my scan will be - I'm secretly hoping it might be this Friday when I'll be 12+1. Feeling rather nervous about it all as all my symptoms subsided at about week 9. Know I should be grateful but finding it hard not to worry!

lovesrunning · 10/04/2018 19:30

Thanks so much for the lovely thoughts! It went well! What a relief. Similar story, it kept turning round and didn’t want to play so I had to go and empty my bladder and come back and the doc was prodding at my tummy to make it move. Really really nice to see it in there though! Got a good shot in the end and all looks as healthy as it should at this point so Big phew. Due Oct 16th.

Huge congrats to other scans today and good luck the rest this week! @rhibee29 and @unicornchaser and anyone else waiting, hang on in there! Hopefully it’ll fly by and be here before you know it Smile
X

Congratulations @milknosugar! I’m glad you’re feeling better. I can feel the tension building for my scan tomorrow, I’m feeling so nauseous but I know after each scan that I feel better! It’s such a waiting game isn’t it!

I’d love to know which websites you find for second hand baby stuff please, i don’t want to spend a fortune on it and am 99% sure there won’t be any siblings coming along in a few years🙈 so won’t be saving things for next time!

Glad to see everyone’s scans are going well just had mine this morning moved ahead to 13+2 so now EDD is 15th October. I went for the combined test so had the scan and bloods taken NT came up as 2.5mm can anyone shed any light on what this means is it normal? I really don’t want to use dr google he always sends me into a panic 🙂

ladydolly · 11/04/2018 10:59

My best bargains have come from NCT sales BUT, you need to volunteer at them with set up or on the checkouts to get early access to the sale otherwise all the good stuff is already gone. It has everything apart from electrical and car seats. The clothes can be a HUGE bargains. I've had loads of Jojo, White Company etc for less than £2 an item. Our friends think we spend a fortune since DD is always so well dressed but nearly all of it comes from the NCT sales or GAP in the last days of their sales when things are reduced to 20% of what they were. I got DD a coat that was reduced from £50 to £7 once. Also worth buying a year or 2 in advance if you see a really good deal.

Car boots for toys, especially garden things. I got DD a beautiful wooden dolls house with furniture for £20. I repainted with samples from Wilko and she plays with it near enough every day.

caoraich · 11/04/2018 11:37

Lovely to read about everyone's scans! Anyone still feeling nauseous? 13 + 1 today and while I can now eat and have started to put weight back on, still being sick a few times a day. The Cyclizine seems to have worn off and just makes me sleepy Sad

That's such useful info @Milknosugar1 and @ladydolly - I'm getting a bit anxious about what we need to buy etc. We have a "study" that is also a bit of a dumping ground - aiming to tidy it out to turn into a nursery but I was thinking about how scarily empty it will be... OH and I are fairly competent adults but have really no idea what babies actually need at different stages. Even the choice of books to advise on this stuff is overwhelming! I guess getting things second hand isn't so wasteful if they end up not being useful.

Penguina · 11/04/2018 13:43

Phew scan all done . Moved my due date earlier too which is rare for me. Now busily comparing this ones scanto my other two and amconvinced it’s a boy!

lovesrunning · 11/04/2018 16:40

Yay to all the successful scans today and good luck for tomorrow @ATP1000 I’ll be thinking of you!

Thanks for all the advice on buying things, I’ve screen shotted that for when I wrap my head around buying all ‘the stuff’!

lovesrunning · 11/04/2018 16:45

PS @Hayleyxmx I’ve consulted doctor google for you and it seems to think that 2.5mm is considered in the normal range...

Hayleyxmx · 11/04/2018 16:58

@lovesrunning thanks for looking, dr google always give me terrible anxiety!

It’s so nice hearing everyone’s scans going well 🙂 next stop 16 week or 20 week scan depending what people are opting for. Personally I need to know boy or girl I just can’t wait another 27 weeks to find out 😆

EyeBaggage · 11/04/2018 17:50

Congratulations everyone having their scans! I had mine this morning and everything was fine - feeling really weird now like just finding out I'm pregnant?!

ATP1000 · 11/04/2018 18:20

Thanks for all the good luck wishes, I’ll let you know how it goes. I will also try to ask the sonographer your question @Hayleyxmx. How many weeks are you measuring? I guess the size of the baby might

ATP1000 · 11/04/2018 18:21

Ah it posted before I finished! I guess the size of the baby might be important when thinking about the NT measurements. However, it’s good to know that there’s a positive answer on dr google! I’d take that!

Does anyone have sky high anxiety levels?

elizastarbeth · 11/04/2018 20:18

The great thing about the baby bus is that everyone is going through the same thing at the same time! Congratulations on all the recent scans

My scan's tomorrow, fingers crossed. It's in the afternoon, so I've got to try and act like a normal person at work all morning. Good luck @ATP1000

@ladydolly Thanks for the tip. We only have NCT sales twice a year in our area, so there's on at the end of this month when we're hoping to be away and one just after my due date. So I don't think that's a goer! I'm hoping to get a lot of stuff second hand though, am looking forwards to a time when there's stuff to do that isn't just waiting!

@Milknosugar1 You have a lot already! Do you have a list you're working off, or just snapping up bargains if you see them? First on my hit list is maternity clothes and new bras, it's starting to get pressing.

ladydolly · 11/04/2018 20:27

I have a long flight tomorrow, I might try and write a list of things you're likely to need while I'm on it. Essentials/nice to haves/wait to see what works. I had a spreadsheet with a budget vs actual costs when I was pregnant first time around because I'm a massive geek and it really helped.

justtowarm · 11/04/2018 20:33

Congrats on the scans today and fingers crossed for any coming up!

I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and I swear I'm feeling fluttery, wormy movements already. I could feel my son at 17 weeks, which I think is early with your first . So this seems really early but I am sure that it is the baby and not wind. It just feels different and like the movements when I was pregnant before. It's only happening every so often but it's cool and reassuring (if it is real and not my mind playing tricks on me)

@hotchocolate86 Absolutely, still nervous even after scan. Had the tiniest amount of brown discharge today which sent me into a tizz. We're doing NIPT at the weekend and will hopefully get to see baby again, so hoping for some more reassurance, even though we've only just had the 12 week scan!

How are you doing?

Hayleyxmx · 12/04/2018 05:20

Thanks @ATP1000 got my mum to consult google and everything looks fine measurement wise,so one less thing to stress about 🙂

Good luck everyone having scans the next few days, take a list of questions you have written down I got so caught up in the moment I didn’t ask anything I wanted to xx
