Hi everyone! First ever post feels very strange! I am 12+2 with EDD 16th October! I have my first scan booked for when I will by then be 13+4. This is my first pregnancy but I am worried that seems very late compared to other women I know..and from what I have read here Confused xx

nmiles27 · 05/04/2018 22:27

Feeling very insensitive posting before having just read the previous posts above, I am so sorry for your sad news to both ladies x

twobambinos · 05/04/2018 22:51

Just catching up on all the updates
@monkerina @melamine I'm so sorry to hear your sad news. Be kind to yourselves Flowers

RhiBee29 · 06/04/2018 10:25

@nmiles27 my scan is at 13+4, Midwife said it's ok as long as it's done before 14wks, so frustrating though!

@Melamine sorry to hear your news, hope you're doing ok x

ATP1000 · 06/04/2018 10:48

Welcome @nmiles27 and to the other new joiners. We are all here to support each other, I know this group has helped me through a difficult month already. I’m so glad we have this and can go through all of it together x

So sorry Sad Look after yourselves xx

Unicornchaser · 06/04/2018 13:13

@nmiles27 my booking app was 10 weeks 3 days and my scan isn't till 13+1. Apparently it's a busy time for scans where I am just now hence it being quite late. I got an early scan @ 8 weeks (privately) hoping it would reassure which it did at the time but now nearly 3 weeks later, I'm still nervous!

So sorry for the sad news from @Melamine & @monkerina, life can be really cruel at times 💐

Filzma · 06/04/2018 14:19

@Melamine and @monkerina I'm so sorry to hear this news. Hopefully you both have enough support around yourselves. Xx

twobambinos · 06/04/2018 14:31

@rhibee29 will keep the fingers crossed that you stay negative to parvo. Hope your DC is feeling better now.

Welcome to the mad House @nmiles27.

Fingers crossed the next 6 months goes smoothly for everyone. Life can indeed be very cruel at times.

@unicornchaser I know what your mean the reassurance is short lived. We had a scan at 9 and 14 and only 5 weeks to our next one. At least how I think the doc can hear heartbeat with a doppler so will be in to them if having any doubts.

No real bump as such here maybe a little by the end of the day but nothing noticeable. How is everyone elses bump coming along

Hayleyxmx · 06/04/2018 14:38

I know it’s way too soon but when do people start buying bits and pieces for the baby. I’ve only bought a baby thermometer so far only because it was in the sale. I’m a first timer so I’m in the want to walk around every baby shop phase 🙈

Belles86 · 06/04/2018 15:22

@twobambinos I’m 14+1 with my first and I’m showing! End of day is at its biggest. My mum was like ‘you won’t show til 6 months like I did’ 😬😬

Penny31 · 06/04/2018 16:30

I’m so sorry to hear of the sad losses. Hugs to you and hope you are ok.

I’m full of cold and have a chesty cough. Feeling very sorry for myself! I just don’t feel like I’ve been well since early January.

Scan isn’t unt next week when I’ll be 13+1. Feels like it’s taking forever! Would love some reassurance, it might perk me up a bit.

ATP1000 · 06/04/2018 16:31

I don’t have a bump yet but my waist has thickened by several inches. I made it to Topshop maternity yesterday and nearly cried when I saw the stretchy waistbands! First day of maternity trousers today and they are fab!!
Also just sneaked a sleep in one of the meeting rooms at work- I was wiped out!

Penny31 · 06/04/2018 16:39

I think I’ve got a bit of a bump/fatty lump. Need to go and find some maternity leggings tomorrow. Back at work next week and need to hide it until after the scan! It’s becoming difficult!

elizastarbeth · 06/04/2018 18:17

@ATP1000 - Genius having a sleep in one of the meeting rooms! This growing a baby lark is pretty tiring.

Think that I might have to have a trip to the shops sometime soon for maternity wear - definitely got a bump going on! It's pretty firm, so probably just bloating. I keep on hoping it'll go away, but it keeps getting bigger! I should probably measure it. I've been wearing baggy tops, but I'm getting paranoid people will notice when I'm getting changed at the gym (which is at my work), but I'll hopefully be in a position to tell a week on Monday.

@Hayleyxmx I'm holding out till 20 weeks, which is taking a lot of self restraint.

caoraich · 06/04/2018 19:45

Oh @monkerina @melamine so sorry to hear your news, look after yourselves xx

Thankfully 12wk scan yesterday was OK, EDD now 17th October. Started telling some friends and family now but gonna hold off for a few weeks with work -- no real bump yet and once they know they'll get all angsty and possibly stop me seeing patients so I want to wait as long as possible...

Hayleyxmx · 06/04/2018 20:19

@elizastarbeth hopefully 20 week scan will come quicker than 12 weeks. The last 8 weeks felt more like a year xx

ladydolly · 06/04/2018 22:13

I'm 15 weeks and huge. Like there's no doubt now. I was in maternity jeans at 6 weeks. I was big with my first but this is way beyond that.

Long scarves kept me going at work in the end!!

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 06/04/2018 23:35

Hoping there's room for one more. I've held out having had 2 mcs last year and didn't really want to make connections and then bow out again, and I didnt really want to jinx anything which seems ridiculous.

Had our dating scan this morning and we're a couple of days ahead so at 12+2 which is a relief.

I hope it'll be okay to join your fb group and say hi.

Sorry if I've just kind of barged in here!

FromMaddieToMummy · 07/04/2018 00:43

Anyone else eating stuff they crave (chocolate mini eclairsBlush) and then panicking they might not be good for the baby?
I swear there are so many restrictions in terms of food Confused

justtowarm · 07/04/2018 06:51

Welcome and congratulations @UnicornsandRainbows1.

@FromMaddieToMummy Since the constant Sickness feeling has passed I keep eating things I crave (as there seems loads now). I had chicken and bean sprouts from the Chinese last night🙈 then realised maybe I shouldn't have 🙈

@hayleyxmx haven't bought anything yet but because we have two already we dont have much to buy except new car seat and buggy and I'm waiting until we find out boy or girl. Not buying any unisex stuff. Also haven't been well so thats kept me out of the shops and away from temptation.
On my first i had a load of stuff bought by about now.

@milknosugar I'm the same until this week haven't been feeling well so little food. But this week I'm a bit better and not denying myself anything I'll have to reign it in now. Don't want to be facing a major battle afterwards.

Everyone is so different with the bumps but sure they all level out in the end. I hope I look pregnant and not just flab on my summer holiday but apart from that I'm OK with the in between stage at the moment probably because it's still so cold and hiding under baggy jumpers.

FromMaddieToMummy · 08/04/2018 02:24

It's so reassuring to hear some of you are out of the morning sickness phase SmileMakes me think there's still hope for me too. I'm 13 weeks but I can't remember my last vomit-less day Confused I was contemplating ringing my GP on Monday because I am always so thirsty but any sort of liquid makes me sick and I end up bringing it all out Sad

daisychain07 · 08/04/2018 06:07

Sorry to hear about sickness. If it does continue please do go to the doctors, I did in previous pregnancy at about 15 weeks as I was being sick daily and they put me on tablets, they stopped me being sick instantly but if I ever forgot them it returned very quickly. I took them until late pregnancy. On a plus side those of you thinking ahead....I haven't had any sickness this time so it defo changes with each.

I am on holiday at the moment and am in that awkward 'is she fat/ is she pregnant' stage but I'm embracing the bikini, no one knows me!!
