@RhiBee29 Fingers crossed for you!

My husband had been quite quiet on the topic but over the weekend brought it up and has been doing some reading and speaking to friends which surprised me! and he is now pro, which has made me more inclined to go that way too. If not, we have a midwife led unit which be my second choice.

Of course after all the thought I'm sure baby will have other ideas and will end up being induced or needing C-section or similar - I really just want them to be healthy, but the intention is there! I have friends who've had such positive experiences which is what swayed me.

Penguina · 03/04/2018 13:17

Gosh I’ve been been sent for a while!

Now 11+3 and scan in 8 days. I can feel my womb when lying down which is reassuring me a bit. Frustratingly I didn’t get an email Arlen scan despite the midwife saying she’d refer me for one due to my history. Hey ho!

Am tempted to join the fb group but still feel a little reluctant !!

Is there any twins yet??

twobambinos · 03/04/2018 13:42

@rhibee29 that's a long wait. Would you be showing symptoms by now if you weren't immune?

We are splashing out on a new travel system for this one. Dh doesn't know yet. We changed our car to a 7 seater and the boot is tiny so need a really compact buggy. And we needed a new car seat our own one is 9 years old. Everything else we have already. Except for clothes if it's a boy.

No twins here @penguina the relief Grin although I do think they look super cute I couldn't imagine the workload.

caoraich · 03/04/2018 13:50

Ooh fascinating link @ATP1000 - no idea if it's worked yet (3 mins in) but at this point I'll give anything a go!

12 weeks today and scan is on Thursday. Hope your scan today goes well @FromMaddieToMummy !

I joined the FB group but I don't really use FB that much anyway so I've just been on here. I find all the FB notifications every time someone posts a bit much!

We told my family at the weekend and I don't know why I was so anxious - they were all delighted. First grandchild/great grandchild so much excitement. My dad immediately started planning a family holiday to Disney World in 2020 Grin

FromMaddieToMummy · 03/04/2018 16:27

Thank you @caoraich Smile seen baby today. It looked so tiny and cute and relaxed. Even threw us a smileEaster Smile cannot wait for October now !!!

2ndPGchimp · 03/04/2018 17:39

Hello all, I have been away on hols for the last 10 days, looks like I have missed lots of positive news. We had our scan today at King's fetal research institute. Confirmed due date of 7 Oct (I was sure it would be put back as I have long cycles), but there it was measuring 13+2! The scan was amazing, seeing all the little bits of body - so much clearer than the one we had with DS. They also said 90% chance of another boy, which makes life easier on the clothes! They also do the chromosome test results on the same day, which meant we were there for 2.5 hours but don't have to wait. I feel relieved that it wasn't all in my head to see the little thing wriggling around!
Good luck to anyone else waiting on scans, a holiday with a 3 year old was definitely good to take the mind off the waiting!

DwangelaForever · 03/04/2018 18:16

Still struggling with food so much, I can’t eat anything I cook it makes me feel ill 😭 was down at my mums on Sunday for a roast and didn’t like any of it 😭😭 even my dads sausage meat stuffing which I usually inhale! Currently having cheese, olive flatbreads and sandwich pickle for dinner whilst my OH and daughter eat the chili con carne I made for us! Hopefully it passes soon as I would love to be able to eat again 😢 13 weeks tomorrow!

Trill27 · 03/04/2018 18:18

Hello, I haven't posted before but have been following the board for a while. It's been great to read everyone's comments. This is my first pregnancy, I'm at 11+4, and got my first midwives appt on Sat then scan on Tuesday (also at Kings @2ndPGchimp). It's all starting to feel a bit more real now!!

elizastarbeth · 03/04/2018 18:29

@DwangelaForever Hope you feel better soon! Bring on the second trimester, I can't wait.

@Trill27 Welcome on board! It's been a very anxious

It's nice to hear of so much happy news regarding the scans. Another benefit is that I think it's making me feel less nervous. 1 week and 2 days left to wait! My scan's at 2pm, I'm seriously considering working from home so I don't have to be in the office.

monkerina · 03/04/2018 19:25

"Effram* I'm planning a home water birth ☺️ DH is surprisingly on board after being strongly pro hospital last tine- ended up with an uneducated water birth in the MLU which seems to have reassured him for this time.

Scan tomorrow at 13+1, excited and nervous!

DwangelaForever · 03/04/2018 19:37

@elizastarbeth I hope so 🤞🏻 I was nauseous until around 14/15 weeks with my first but I've deffo vomited more this time! I just projectile vomited across the kitchen 🙈, I think it's because I have more triggering smells this time around compared to last!

hotchocolate86 · 03/04/2018 19:43

It’s great to hear about all the good scans. Good luck to everyone with scans coming up.

No twins here. I just have one little one in there unless there’s a very well hidden surprise.

I’m 13+2 and still feeling very sick. I have HG though so not normal morning sickness. Hoping I’ll be able to reduce some of my meds soon but we will see.

JellyBeanPaws · 03/04/2018 20:02

Hello Smile I’m a bit late to the group but I am having my #2 baby in October Star Dd is 12/10. I’ve had terrible morning sickness since 5 weeks and I am taking promathezine for this. It’s awful, never ever had this with my first pregnancy!!

How are we all doing?? Think I am 12+4 today xx

monkerina · 03/04/2018 20:21

Haha just reading back! Uneducated = uneducated! That's what you get for messaging whilst bfing a wriggly 2 year old!

monkerina · 03/04/2018 20:21

Ffs phone! UNMEDICATED!!!

BridgeFarmKefir · 03/04/2018 21:03

Jumping back on - I was avoiding the thread as I sort of felt like time had stopped until we had the first scan. It was today and all was good, dating me a few days later than I thought - 13+2. It was so weird to see the screen - I had genuinely convinced myself there wasn't anything in there! Feel like I can relax very slightly now... not entirely though! Hope all the rest of you are doing well Smile

FromMaddieToMummy · 03/04/2018 21:42

For those of you mummies suffering of morning sickness, Wotsits and spread cheese on toast are helping with mine.
It was rather amusing today being in a waiting room filled with pregnant ladies all snacking on all sorts of different flavour crisps Grin

justtowarm · 04/04/2018 06:25

Hi everyone, I hope your morning sickness passes soon, I'm hoping my constant nausea (but luckily no sick) has passed now at 12 weeks 5, it seems I'm just getting indigestion now, I never thought that would make me happy 😆

Crisps really helped me too it was all I could manage at one point 🙈

running3 · 04/04/2018 07:08

So exciting everyone having scans Smile Has anyone been having any stomach pains? I had my scan last week and all was well but the next evening I had about 3 hours of stomach pain. I thought it could be pain just from bloating or constipation (never usually have those issues so don't know what those pains would feel like). No bleeding or anything and I think the pain was higher than where baby is. However I'm getting myself more and more worried about it so will give the midwife a call today.

tappitytaptap · 04/04/2018 07:58

My nausea is still hanging on at 13+5 (dated 9 days ahead of when I thought at my 12 week scan yesterday). Fingers crossed it passes soon for everyone!

2ndPGchimp · 04/04/2018 09:05

@Trill27 be warned we were there for early 3 hours yesterday, and our appt was at 9!

@BridgeFarmKefir we must have the same due date! Great name by the way!

2ndPGchimp · 04/04/2018 09:06

Nearly not early!

Unicornchaser · 04/04/2018 09:25

So had to cave and buy the next size up in work clothes yesterday! Though still just look like I've gotten a bit fat rather than actual baby bump! 10 weeks yesterday but having to hide it from work for at least another month or 2 so it's going to get really hard soon! Confused

lovesrunning · 04/04/2018 09:38

Hi lovely ladies, mind if I join you? I’ve been reading along since the beginning but am 12 weeks today so feel like it’s getting real now!

@running3 I’ve read a few things saying mild stomach pains are normal - especially if it’s not like period cramping I wouldn’t worry - but having said that if you can pop in and ask someone that’s definitely a good idea to put your mind at rest. Hope it’s nothing! Are you a runner by the way?

@rhi good luck this morning! Will be thinking of you.

@unicornchaser I feel the same! Off work until next week and pretty sure I won’t fit in stuff when I go back. I didn’t think it would show this soon (although to be fair I am home on holiday visiting friends and family and have done a LOT of eating so who knows - could just be that).

lanzlucy · 04/04/2018 10:50

Had our twelve week scan on Thursday and was relieved to see everything was ok. EED is now 8th October. Got to spend Easter telling family in person (hadn't told anyone beforehand). It was a nice experience but I also got a bit upset -perhaps unreasonably - with feeling a loss of identity. People calling me a Mum to be and just wanting to talk about the baby. It just freaked me out a little. I'm still a person! Anyone else felt that way with their first? The baby is very much wanted and planned (one year of TTC) but feeling very guilty at my identity crisis.
