Still tired, queasy and moody here at 12+5 too, swear this stage ended a lot earlier with DS! Although the lack of opportunity to nap or go to bed at 7 and sleeeep til 10am (at weekends!) has definitely impacted this time around, 25mo DS won't accept it!

twobambinos · 01/04/2018 13:34

Just over 14 weeks I started to feel better. As in I have had two not so bad days in a row. Hope it lasts. And on my 3rd pregnancy I finally get the pregnancy glow Grin
We told our families this week too so the secret is out. Think I'm starting to show a little bump not obvious to anyone only me naked! But at least i won't have to be trying to hide it.

Fingers crossed rhi for Tuesday and the results.

Great news about the harmony results sorry can't see who got them on the phone. It is a relief though isn't it.

Will be counting down the days to 20 week scan to get as much reassurance from that as we can. Also I'm just itching to buy something.

hotchocolate86 · 01/04/2018 14:11

I’m still feeling queasy at 13 weeks today even with my cocktail of medications. Hoping to feel a lot better soon.

I hope I get a pregnancy glow this time. I most certainly didn’t have one last pregnancy. I also have a little bump which I am really happy to see.

hotchocolate86 · 01/04/2018 14:12

@Penny31 when I looked at harmony tests in my last pregnancy two years ago they seemed to be about £400.

Unicornchaser · 01/04/2018 18:01

Can anyone tell me the benefits of the harmony tests over the blood test and scan check for Down syndrome they do at 12 weeks?

I am 12 weeks now and have scan on Tues, still feeling tired and nauseous but it disppeared around now last time so fingers crossed eh?! Had really bad episode of actual sickness last week - in street, in a bloody bin on a train as no nearby toilet. So sorry for you ladies who have to deal with that on a regular basis. Got a bit of a cold and cough at the moment and the cough keeps making me retch which is not great!

ladydolly · 01/04/2018 21:25

14 weeks here and still SO tired. I'm going to bed at 8.30, its the only way I can function with a 3 yr old. Have figured the night waking is actually from reflux rather than nausea, tums by my bed for a midnight snack helps!

I feel a bit fed up today, I felt great at 14wks with dd but my early symptoms haven't gone yet and my late ones started early! Piles, sciatic pain, heavy bump on top of nausea, insomnia and tiredness. I so wanr this baby but I'm already sick of pregnancy!

Melamine · 02/04/2018 10:51

I’m 11 weeks today & had some light, brown (the spotting was light, the colour was more...medium) spotting yesterday after a longish walk. Bit worried but going to try & monitor it today rather than rushing to A&E. No pain or anything. Any positive stories welcomed!

Alyosha · 02/04/2018 12:06

Melamine - no personal experience but there's lots of stories about this many with good outcomes. I think I've heard that at 11 weeks the placenta is taking over from the yolk sac and that can cause some spotting?

Crossed fingers for all being well.

Mayah · 02/04/2018 13:38

So I had a little scare with red bleeding and cramps all day last Friday. Just had an emergency scan this morning and the little bean was bouncing away without a care. Midwife said she saw no reason for the bleeding, however she dated me back by 2 weeks, making me 8+5 and due date is now November 7th.

So happy to know baby was fine, but I was so looking forward to the 12 weeks mark in hope that this sickness and constant nausea would end Grin feels like a lifetime away now.

ATP1000 · 02/04/2018 15:01

Hi everyone, I am feeling your pain with the ongoing nausea and tiredness. I have a review at work tomorrow, this whole month has been a write off and the month before wasn’t particularly impressive so I am not looking forward to it. I’ll be doing my best not to fall asleep, cry or be sick during the whole thing whilst trying to think fast enough to answer a load of questions! Just letting it out here so I can continue lying on the sofa drinking flat ginger ale and feeling rubbish this afternoon!!

twobambinos · 02/04/2018 15:42

@mayah that sounds so scary. Glad you got the scan and all is well.
@atp1000 I'm sure work will be looking at the time since your last review and not just the few weeks. Best of luck with it.

@melamine hopefully the spotting has stopped. It doesn't sound like anything to worry about think it's just if its fresh blood.

weeblefeeble · 02/04/2018 17:41

melamine i had about 4 days of very light spotting at around 11 weeks. Had 13 week scan 5 days ago and all hunky dory. Can definitely be totally normal. Hope all goes well for you.

FromMaddieToMummy · 02/04/2018 22:09

Hi ladies,
I have my first scan tomorrow !! At this point I'm more nervous than excited. I just want to know that little peanut is healthy and developing well. Anyway, I know my appointment was tomorrow as I booked it over the phone. I was supposed to receive a letter about it, but it's yet to arrive. I was just wondering if anyone who already had the scan could let me know if there's anything I should (not) be doing prior to the appointment. I know I'm supposed to have a full bladder. Is there anything else ? Thank you

Melamine · 02/04/2018 22:27

Thanks so much ladies for your reassurance. It’s still there today but only seen when I wipe, so going to hold on a bit longer to see before panicking 😉 - the week until my scan next Monday is going to seem an eternity if it keeps up!

ATP1000 · 02/04/2018 22:35

Hi Maddie I’ve had a few scans due to being ill, my 12 week one is next week but from the previous scans I’d say take a bottle of water and drink it whilst you wait, that should give you enough liquid in your bladder to see the baby more clearly. I hope it goes well!

Thanks @twobamabinos, Work is being supportive but a lot of my income is performance based which adds to the stress when I know I’m not performing very well. I’m always worried before the reviews and they’re never as bad as I expect, fingers crossed for tomorrow.

@milknosugar1 I know what you mean by pricey me and my partner decided pricey pram and crib. We will shop around for a bargain for the little things. So far we have gone for...

Silver cross pioneer pram
Silver cross simplicity car seat
Tutti bambini cozee crib
Sleepy head deluxe

RhiBee29 · 03/04/2018 08:17

Thanks @Milknosugar1, praying they come back today and I am immune!

My parents bought our pram for DS which I'll use again this time, cost about £350 I think and as DS was so long he was out of it and in a stroller by 12mths. Will reuse Cot, got a mothercare own brand which was about £150 with mattress, again DS was in a bed by 20mths. Baby's don't have to cost the earth, own brand products serve just as well as fancy top end and the baby won't care what tag is on them!

daisychain07 · 03/04/2018 08:30

A cheaper alternative to the sleepyhead which I found really good was a 'purflo'. Does the same thing and can get it on amazon. We got pram and cot new last time but so many newborn baby things aren't used for very long that you can pick things up very cheap second hand and in good condition, it's just about keeping your eye out x

ATP1000 · 03/04/2018 11:40

I’m at work listening to this
m.youtube.com/watch?v=XBY73oui5i0
I’m able to use headphones at my desk, it needs headphones to work. I’m not sure if it’s working but I do feel a bit less frantic! Worth a try to control the nausea!
Thanks for the messages of support everyone, review is last thing today.
I hope your test results come through soon @Rhibee29

Hello all! I have been reading and lurking but quiet for a while - so long that I realised this thread had disappeared from my 'I'm on' list! So thought I'd check in.

@ATP1000 good luck today! hope it goes well.

My scan is in just under 2 weeks, booking appointment this Thursday. Looking forward to both to make it a bit more real. Usual anxieties remain! I'm 10+6 now and everything ticking along. Haven't bought anything yet and will hold off for a while I think - my mum has kindly offered to buy a pram so we will test drive a few together at a later date I think!

Assuming all is well with baby and pregnancy uncomplicated, we are going to aim for a home birth. I wondered if anyone else was considering this?

Hope everyone else is well!

RhiBee29 · 03/04/2018 12:40

My test results will be available after 11am tomorrow, please send all your positive thoughts my way!

@EffRam I'm considering a water birth at home this time, my MW is very encouraging, DH isn't convinced yet...
