Can I join please? Tested this evening, feeling very excited. Due 20th April. 2nd pregnancy. Ds - 16 months. Symptoms - tiredness, sore and leaky boobs, very bloated (esp in evenings) and (annoyingly) waking in the middle of the night to go to the loo.

lou33 · 16/08/2004 20:03

Just popping in to say congrats to you all. APril is indeed a lovely time to have a baby. Dd1 was born on the 11th, and it was a glorious sunny day sandwiched between april showers.

DelGirl · 16/08/2004 20:11

Hi Tassis, welcome to the April thread. Congratulations. Looks like you and I have a race on

Ooh thanks for the words of encouragement Lou.

xoz · 16/08/2004 20:21

Welcome Tassis. Nice to have you on board.
That's a great list Delgirl. Nice to see where we all are at. I have 2 dd's though age 3yrs 7mths and 1yr 10.5mths. All going well by the time this baby is born we'll be living back in Australia. So we'll have 2 Aussie born and 1 Brit born (although she's not a UK citizen). Will make for an interesting 8 months anyway.

DelGirl · 16/08/2004 20:24

I knew an apology would come in handy somewhere, oops!

xoz · 16/08/2004 20:42

Don't feel you need to apologise Delgirl, it doesn't really matter. I'm very impressed that you've even got the list in due date order, it must've taken a while to figure that out. Well done.

xoz · 16/08/2004 20:44

Sorry, pregnancy branin has set in already... the purpose of all that extra info wabiout moving back to Australia was that that means I'll be giving birth going into the Sydney winter, which I gues is still not too bad, but I know I'm really going to miss the central heating!!! It great for babies to have that constant temp.

DelGirl · 16/08/2004 21:08

uh, are we supposed to feel sorry for you Xoz? It's not working

xoz · 16/08/2004 21:18

No not looking for sympathy at all or trying to make anyone jealous. I can't wait actually. I miss my family a lot and it will be nice to have babysitters on tap! It was really just FYI....

Azure · 17/08/2004 08:35

Good idea about the list Delgirl, and welcome Tassis. I have a DS who is almost 3. Has anyone had v. v. mild aching in the ovary / womb area? I've had it on and off for the last 2 weeks. I suspect it was ovulation and implantation. No other symptoms to speak of, a mild tingling in the boobs at times, but it is early days for me and I didn't get very sick last time.

Seabird · 17/08/2004 09:10

Wow fantastic to have so many new expectant mums on this thread - welcome and congratulations all!!

And especially HUGE congrats to Azure - I'm SO delighted for you and really pleased we get to be on the same "Due" thread after I graduated from your TTC#8 thread

Great idea about the list DelGirl - well done.

Still only feeling mildly nauseous, ok as long as I keep eating - and I had just managed to lose the weight I put on with dd!

Congratulations to everyone joining recently!
Not sure when I'm due as a bit irregular but 11th-16th April ish - I will get better date from scan. Ds (now 2) was born on 16th April and IMO a lovely time of year!

OK now I feel really awful. Tired, headache and sick all day for the last 3 days. I am 5.5 weeks. With ds it didn't last too long so fingers crossed. How is everyone else feeling?

DelGirl · 17/08/2004 14:10

Azure, I've had the same. Sore ovaries on and off and today have felt a bit tender, almost feel bruised in my womb, well that's where I think it is. Had 2 m/c's in the last 16 months and maybe it's had a battering. All good signs i'm hoping. A touch of nausea but not like last week. I think it's because i'm making a point of resting/sleeping more. Boobs feel a bit heavier today, hooray. The more symptoms the better. I have my scan in 3 weeks and it feels like a lifetime away.

Azure · 17/08/2004 15:39

Delgirl - did you just ask your GP for an early scan? I would be interested in one too because I had a m/c last October at just under 12 weeks, and am meant to be away on holiday in September when I'll be about 10 weeks - I would like to know if all is well before I go. When is everyone planning to see a GP, if you haven't already?

DelGirl · 17/08/2004 16:08

Azure, I've had IUI (5th go) that's why I get an early scan though I think if you've had an m/c you could ask for an early one, they can only say no. I'm seeing a midwife on the 1st Sept @ 7 weeks.

tassis · 17/08/2004 17:37

Azure, I've made a doc appt for a week Friday. I wasn't sure what the procedure was...

mitzi · 17/08/2004 20:28

Wow this thread is filling up.I feel like absolute crap today, had to come home from work cause of all the throwing up.I was fending off all the usual "ooh your not pregnant are you"questionswith great difficulty.Like some of you i've got the sore boobs, twingy pains and bad nausea and a bit of vomiting but i'm thinking these are all good signs as I didn't feel like this with my last pg which ended in mc.I've got an appointment to see my gp on Friday and I'm gonna ask for an early scan and hope I get one.I have decided to tell my immediate family on Friday as my little brother is travelling up then, and Im not sure when we will see him next. Oh and I got a new niece yesterday and she is absolutely fab

tassis · 17/08/2004 20:49

Mitzi - congratulations on the new neice! Sorry to hear you're so sick. I hope you have a better day tomorrow.

Seabird · 17/08/2004 20:51

Congratulations on your niece, Mitzi! Sorry to hear about the sickness though - poor you! Makes me feel better about my nausea, at least I'm not actually throwing up.

Things seem to be following the same pattern as last time for me. I've gone off my morning tea which is very dull. And this afternoon went to sleep at 230 with dd and we both woke up at 445!

Told my GP on Monday but I'm signing up with a private midwife this time so hopefully I won't need to see much of the Dr.

Hope the rest of you are feeling ok.

OP posts:
Azure · 18/08/2004 08:43

Seabird out of interest, why are you going to use a private midwife?

Seabird · 18/08/2004 09:38

Azure - with dd I wanted a home birth and would've ideally liked to have met the midwife before so (because I live in london) I looked into having a private midwife. I realised that if I was going to book one I should've done it at the outset (from a cost point of view). Anyway I didn't end up with the birth I wanted and the whole hospital experience was a bit grim mainly because it was so busy, plus I ended up with two infections.

So... this time I'm going with the Caroline Flint Midwife team. I know I may still not end up with my "ideal" birth (which actually wouldn't be a home birth this time) but hopefully I'll have a better experience. I'm still having heeby jeebies about the money though

jumpin · 18/08/2004 11:45

Hello all.
I've just found out I'm expecting : EDD is April 20 though I haven't had that confirmed by doc yet.
Only symptom so far is: I'm absolutely RAVENOUS. Any ideas on healthy snacks? I'm determined not to resort to choc and crips this time round (It's my 2nd).
Have already scoffed a box of cherries and half pack of dried apricots this am and it's nowhere near lunchtime yet. Help!!!

Seabird · 18/08/2004 11:53

Congratulations Jumpin! And welcome to this board. Know what you mean about needing to scoff. I don't actually feel hungry but seems to be the only thing to keep the nausea at bay. I'm getting through dd's mini-rice cakes at quite a rate!
