Mrs JB - did your LO turn?

So excited about the May babies!!!

Bensonbluebird · 01/05/2007 19:54

Hurrah for little G&T's last minute turn!

Getting a mite bored with being pregnant, but still working and have a few things to finish so it would be quite useful if Babybluebird waited until after the weekend. Some back ache since baby engaged and a few period type pains. DP is convinced it is all going to happen while he is at work 2 1/2 hours away ( he goes down to York two days a week). I was convinced it was going to happen last friday when we were having a crisis about boys names, no sign yet though.

Yellowfrin - where are you? I'm in sunny Edinburgh (though there has been a mighty cold wind this afternoon).

Just added myself to the stats.

Fantastic news for lg and t, I bet she is so chuffed. It just goes to show that they CAN turn at the last minute.
Oh shite, Liverpool have just scored. Boo hoo

aprilmeadow · 01/05/2007 20:33

Yay for little g&t - good boy for going head down!

Mrsjaffabiffa · 01/05/2007 20:53

Pinkjenny, Yes I'm another lucky one. LO turned at 34 weeks.

Pebble's LO was still breech at last check I think, so you are not the only one.

OP posts:
largeginandtonic · 01/05/2007 21:28

noooooo pebbles baby is head down too now. Hello everyone, im sat in hosp bed with bloomin patient line thingy. Good cos i can post but v awkward to use!

Baby head down.........am so pleased! No idea when he turned though, in the night probably. Have no pains, just have to see if i lose anymore fluid overnight. I then have 92hrs before they will induce me. If no more fluid then i can await events, yay. No section 4 me i hope. Please stay head down baby.

Thankyou for all thinking of me xxxxxx

Am off to shave my legs incase i go in to labour in the night. No chance of hair being done though.......tsk

ShowOfHands · 01/05/2007 21:36

OMG, of course you must shave your legs. Pity you can't call out an emergency hairdresser too, maybe a beautician...

Can you just concentrate on that little baby you strangely relaxed woman you? I'm not going to sleep tonight at all, will be thinking of you nipping to the loo every five minutes to fix your hair and make-up.

Just got home, was going to blather on about events chez SOH over the last 48hrs, but that can wait. LG&T is enlargening her brood (yes, that's her brood, nowt to do with me as she would have you all think. I couldn't make babies that beautiful).

Was it definitely waters then? Where's the lovely uniformed DH? Did they send him home? Oh I want to drive to Plymouth but chances are we'd have another encounter with an incompetent, yet bolshy ticket man and the cows would all gang up for When Animals Attack II. I'd never make it, get stuck somewhere in Milton Keynes and never be heard of again. I've got some Haagan Daaz icecream and a big duvet, I'm settling in for the night. Come on MiniLG&T!

Pinkjenny · 01/05/2007 21:43

LG & T - thinking of you. Hooray for your little baba, turning at the last minutes.

There is hope then? I'm the only breech left.

But enough about me, keep us updated, its all getting terribly exciting!!!

MKG · 01/05/2007 22:12

Congrats LG&T, I hope you go into labor soon. My aunt was the same way when she went into labor with her twins she refused to leave the house until her legs were shaved.

As women we need to keep some shred of dignity. We can't show up in labor looking like hairy, scary monsters.

Lwatkins · 01/05/2007 22:15

OMG, I'm away for a few hours and LG&T practically has a baby! Well ok not quite, good luck and keep us all posted. So happy for you that bubs decided to turn, no c-sec for you. Good baby LG&T!

Had a chinese tonight, yum. Also caught up with an old friend whilst ramming s+s chicken in my mouth. Poor love could barely hear me down the phone! Had massive craving for dr pepper and coke tonight, so indulged. Really shouldn't seeings how I hate the dentsit and never go but couldn't resist.

Work going very slowly! It's actaully quite a hard report that I'm attempting to write. Trying to talk about one thing with it being easy to go of on tangents about another thing, argh! The stuff I'm writing is actually really good and I know it is, but it's not relevant so have had to delete it. The learning outcomes aren't very clear either so for all I know what I'm writing might be right or it might be wrong

Oh and m/w rang me today No explanation or anything, just 'I'll be coming to see you tommorrow at 11:30'. Taking bets for anyone who thinks I stand a chance of her actually showing up this time lol

scootermum · 01/05/2007 22:19

OH MY WORD!The excitment of it!Well done for turning babygandt..I will be on pins till he comes now!Good luck hon!!

To be fair to the NHS-I would proably literally be dead without it and I cant complain-but my post natal experience last time wasnt the best-and the answer to how do you sleep on a shared ward MKG? With some difficulty ..

Have had some awful news re our house today-our buyer claims that the structural survey showed up that the wall is falling down and will cost 20k to fix!And will we negotiate on price? We said we wanted to see the survey, (as its a little surprising seeing as our survey done under two years ago did not show this, and neither did the mortgage survey they had done). The buyer is refusing to show it us..So we are at an empasse..dont know wether to believe them, or are they exaggerating potential cost of repairs and trying to pull a fast one..anyway we are trying to get the estate agent to explain to them that we will think of negotiating when we've some evidence..in the meantime however we will probably lose our new house, (which we have forked out on a survey for already) and im also fleetingly concerned that the roof, which seems fine to me, is about to fall in and crush me to death..so all in all not so good..that said am strangely not as upset/stressed as I could be,(I mean I am, but not to the degree I would expect)-Just too much other stuff, mainly that im about to have a baby-to think about..
Think will call a builder in to look and see if they think there is an issue and quote us for any work and we will take it from there..I just knew it wouldnt be easy to move!

Saw midwife-babys head engaged and she thinks Ive got a little SPD as in a bit of pain down below now..all well with Mae though..asked about my 3rd degree tear last time and potential cosnequences this time and she said it would 'probably' be alright but to make sure I mentioned it at the hospital when I arrived in labour..not very reassuring really..have visions of ending up doubly incontinent and/or unable to walk or whatever ever again...

Glad jab went ok Lilkel..am stealing myself for dd's next week..

Well done for the self discipline on the work lwatkins..you go lady!

£200 Tam?Ruddy hell..That said in the two weeks before I had DD I managed to get 4 tickets in Ware and it cost me nearly that much-and I think by that point I couldnt raise the energy to care either!

Oh forgot tosay-after the house thing today decided to cheer self up and went and bought myself a lovely laptop so not reliant on DH's anymore, hurrah!DH thinks I onloy got it for Mumsnetting..not true I said..am going to MSN as well....

Does anyone know if Olbas Oil can have any ill effects on a pg woman-because my nose is so blocked now I feel as if it will explode!

MKG · 01/05/2007 22:20

OK I'm sweating bullets over here. I can't take it. I need to have this baby soon!!!!

Also I just coughed and I have to change my underwear. It wasn't a trickle it was a lot.

scootermum · 01/05/2007 22:21

Cant be long now MKG...Chin up!

MKG · 01/05/2007 22:22

Scooter, buying houses is the worst. It's so tedious with all the inspections and paperwork, I don't envy you one bit.

MKG · 01/05/2007 22:27

Did I mention already that I don't want to be pregnant anymore?

I just did the coolest thing while sitting here. I just pressed on the very top of my bump and felt the weirdest pressure in my rectal area. I wonder if I could manually push this baby out?

scootermum · 01/05/2007 22:38

Not sure it would be wise MKG!But then you never know, might work...I wont be trying it just in case)

Lwatkins · 01/05/2007 22:44

Scoot with regards to the survey. Sounds to me like the buyers are milking it for all they can get. When my parents sold their house last July the buyers payed to have a survey done and claimed there was £30,000 worth of work needing doing. We asked to see the survey and they refused. So we asked them what exactly the problems were and they told us. My mum then got experts in to assess how bad it actually was and the total damage all together came back as under £6,000!!! Buyers were just greedy bastards, the whole way through the sale they had been trying things like this. In the end I got on the phone to the estate agents and said that this was destroying my parents and that they could tell the buyers to go f**k themselves if they thought we were knocking of any more money for them. Had already agreed to take about £30,000 the house for them!

It was pure greed. My parents were in pieces over the whole thing, risked loosing their dream home that they are now in. And I just snapped seeing them like it. (Incase you haven't already guessed I love my family very much and will do anything for them!) That house bought nothing but bad luck with it - including 5 years of squatter problems, and even when trying to sell it they got shi**y buyers! After my phonecall to the estate agents they closed the deal and we moved

Put your foot down, if they're gonna demand that you knock money of your house you have every right to demand to see proof! If they get arsy with you, I'll give em a ring for you

scootermum · 01/05/2007 22:46

Nice bit of an interview with Jose then Abby-even if the result wasnt right for you..

Glad you didnt fall in the Cam by the way SOH...

So when do you finish work then Benson?Just the last week now?Golly it must be tiring-ive only been off a week and a bit and already I cant imagine getting up early to drive in and doing a full day..much respect to those still grafting...

Hows your DH getting on in his high tech loft in NYC Cameroonmama? (or so you say-we all know he is really somewhere deeply insconced in Thames house working away on some top secret mission, international spy that he is)

Must turn in as am knackered-if I wake up again at 4.30 am, for the fourth night in a row I will be livid!)

G night all

largeginandtonic · 01/05/2007 22:48

Testing, my post keps being lost, grrrrrr

Lwatkins · 01/05/2007 22:52

Oh and the property we were selling was an OLD property. Early 1800's, they knew there was a bit of work that needed doing. Truth was they couldn't actually afford the house to begin with, so just kept trying it on knowing that we needed the sale to go through or we'd have lost our new house. I've never seen my parents more stressed or upset, they both have health problems from time to time as well and they got quite ill with it all

It still makes me thinking about it all. My dad has heart problems and my mum only has 1 functioning kidney that packs up every now and then when she get's stressed. It was an eventfull couple of weeks! Don't think they'll ever move again, until they're too old to to do anything for themselves - and then I'll build them a granny annex on the side of my house for them to live with me

scootermum · 01/05/2007 22:53

Thats pretty much what we think lwatkins..not going to negotiate just because they've asked us to, without any proof..plus will get our own quotes on anything that needs doing..and if they dont like it they can do one I suppose..annoying as we will lose our new house and the money we spent on surveying it, but its not the end of the world..that said if the roof does fall in, or it really will be 20k to fix it we will certainly be a bit screwed!

We shall see I guess..am just concentrating on baby for now and what will be will be..(if I think about it too much I will end up a wreck I fear)

scootermum · 01/05/2007 22:55

Can you add another little annexe for us then just in case of falling masonry!

largeginandtonic · 01/05/2007 22:55

Have been tryin to post, grrrrrrr

Have shaved legs and am smothered in body lotion so when DH dashes here in the night he will be distracted from his bellowing\mooing wife by lovely smell of lotion

SOH, stay where you are! Clearly under the duvet is the only place you can be trusted I will have to cope without you >

Scoot awful situation, have some fudge and post\msn till you feel better

lwatkins well done on study, and yum chinese.

scootermum · 01/05/2007 22:58
