Morning,

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
scootermum · 02/05/2007 15:30

Give her a ring back if you are worried..no point in fretting.Sure its fine but its ok to phone the midwife and get your mind put at rest..

twelveyeargap · 02/05/2007 15:31

If the baby's head is fully engaged and wasn't last visit, then that means the bump drops lower, so would that affect measurements? My m/w doesn't measure, which I'm glad about. Just pokes around and says "good size". She did actually mention last time that the bump was lower than the last time. I'm sure I had a thing last time round that the number of fingers of your hand you could fit between top of ribcage and top of bump indicated how engaged the head was.

Rambling now...

scootermum · 02/05/2007 15:44

Think you are right TYG-makes sense anyway..Mae engaged as well, boy is it uncomfy-I feel like I cant walk..

Mrsjaffabiffa · 02/05/2007 15:45

Oh thats great lg&t, so glad they are happy to let things take there course.

Feeling niggily and knackard today. Had French this afernoon as it was bank holiday yesterday here. I could hardly stay awake at the desk. YAWN

Have a good trip in France meggle, don't worry the maternity it's OK should anything catch you by surprise.
Scoot, Children born here to expats are still British if the parents are British. Maddie has a French birth certifaicate but a British Passport. All of my children will be able to take dual nationality at the age of 11 provided they have lived in France for a minimum of 5 consecutive years since birth.

LW, glad is all well with your wee one.

SOH, how did your 38 week prod go?

OP posts:
twelveyeargap · 02/05/2007 16:21

Think I might go for dual nationality now that I've been here for a few years. THey're quite strict about it and the fact that my mum is British doesn't seem to mean anything... Means me, DD1 and DD2 could hold both British and Irish passports if it works out. DH will just have to be content with the one.

Lwatkins · 02/05/2007 16:52

My lord hasn't it all been kicking of today? Have you seen it out there? It's like the great battle of MN, antenatal threads vs everyone on the chat boards! Flippin eck, don't venture out there without ammo and your hard hats ladies.

scootermum · 02/05/2007 16:56

Decided I would go for a walk given that the weather is so nice and I dont get chance to walk on my own very often..Got about a mile before I was desperate for the toilet and Mae was pressing down so hard on my nether regions that I had to sit down on a stile for a bit before attempting to get back..so thats it for exercise for me for some time I think-well at least on my own-realised as I was on my way back that not a soul had any idea where I was, I was on a path not often frequented by other people and I had no phone..so it would've looked quite well if Id fallen over or gone into labour-would have had to give birth in a Hawthorn bush...

Going for a wee lie down now I think, but I just cant settle today-even though im knackered..mind is willing but the body isnt!

scootermum · 02/05/2007 16:58

I have..quite frankly I thought some of it was a bit OTT..it was only a thread title surely?!

Oh meggle I wish I could do links! Basically a load of MNers got stroppy about the June antenatal thread title and started a thread on the chat boards. All got a bit heated and some things were said, like a mini MN war if you ask me!

BefnalBub · 02/05/2007 17:15

meet up was fab - everyone is looking v good. which thread was it that kicked off - do a link!!!

Pregger yoga very good by the way....very gentle...

LOL. Felt great to move so much!

Lwatkins · 02/05/2007 17:16

Apparantly there are some, shall we say over sensative MNers about! Took offence to the title of the thread and everyone got a bit funny about it. Then a comment was made about the fact that with a thread title like that, they probably don't love their unborn babies blah blah blah. All no silly if you ask me!

scootermum · 02/05/2007 17:18

It all kicked off over a June thread title that was meant to be funny but some people found offensive..and then it got a bit generally offensive about antenatal threads in general...

Are you Eurostarring it then?Where is your Moneypit?(Was thinking about that film last night as it happens, with re our own potential house probs..maybe I will end up entrapped in a rug in a hole in the floor )

Lwatkins · 02/05/2007 17:18

Scoot yes I agree - very ott!

scootermum · 02/05/2007 17:20

Glad the yoga was good Befnal..did you get to do a nice relaxation bit at the end as well..(I once actually fell asleep in that bit at mine!)

Hi all

I'm still here, just been out socialising all day.

Have a consultant appointment tomorrow at 1.30 and am going to stage a sit in in his office if he doesn't do a sweep. The little man was 8 lb two weeks ago and the longer he stays in there the bigger he is getting so will cry if he says no tomorrow.

My 27 tear old neice is 11 weeks pg and has just started bleeding yesterday and still is. She can't get a scan at the epu until Friday FFS so really doesn't know what is happening and is in a state bless her.

Just off to look for the June thread - is it still there?

Lwatkins · 02/05/2007 17:22

BB glad yoga was good, bet your feeling all nice and relaxed, grumble grumble. I have a constant knot in my back from always being sat at my computer! So uncomfortable, sob.

Scoot you must take it easy says LW in her stern, teacher type voice. Make sure you rest for the remainder of the day. Dr LW's orders

Might do a trip to sainsbury's to get some fruit and chocolate. Can't be arsed but feel like a nibble or 9 tonight whilst I work.

BefnalBub · 02/05/2007 17:23

yes we did - they gave us nice thick bolsters to put between our knees - it made me realise the pillow at home I am using is pants and thats probably why I've been getting hip ache in the night which wakes me up.... will be investing in something else now!

scootermum · 02/05/2007 17:25

How are you feeling generally though SKY?ok or a bit fed up?Good luck for tomorrow then...
for your neice-horrid situation..

lol at the handbag idea Meggle-it would need to be a pretty big Tote to hide my bump Ill tell you!

BefnalBub · 02/05/2007 17:26

aha "offensive" june thread

Lwatkins · 02/05/2007 17:26

Yes the threads are still there. The antenatal one is called Due in June, I'm gonna sart charging you rent soon you little **er or something like that. The one in chat was Do some thread titles make you want to heave or something, I can't remember! Wish I could do links......

Lwatkins · 02/05/2007 17:28

Sky Won't scan her until Friday? Are you having a laugh! That's effing ridiculous, she needs seeing now. I hope she is ok.

SKYTVADDICT · 02/05/2007 17:29

Feeling ok thanks scoot just fed up. I really thought he would be here by now. I have even had a few good nights sleep until last night when I was thinking about my neice.

The end is definitely in site though, I cannot imagine asking for a sweep but needs must!

Could do with him here by the weekend.
