Thought I'd start up a new thread as the old one has run out of space.

@Sparklesdontshine & @SpriteGirl - so sorry to hear your nhs screening has come back high, we are all here to hand hold until you get your other results back.

@SpriteGirl as well as checking harmony, search for panorama too. Panorama tests for the same thing (and a few additional things too), plus it costs less. x

@Sjc1989 & @spydie - pm me your email addresses (the ones you use for fb) and I'll send the invite over (will go to your email).

Hi ladies, not been on this in a while! Not sure if i said i had swabs done on weds after i had a little bit of blood when i wiped, she said i had an irritated cervix and to call monday for results if i didnt hear anything. Well i called and one came back abnormal so need to book an appt with a doc, but nothing this week! Would it be really bad if i rang for an emergency one tomorrow morning? I need to know what's abnormal as obviously being pregnant its worrying!

Hope everyone is feeling better and morning sickness is getting better!

StrawberryLemonade · 06/02/2018 06:19

Rainbows you could ask for a phone call from the doctor to explain what’s wrong - most practices do that now Smile hope they can reassure you.

14 weeks today I’m into the second trimester woo!

bobcat85 · 06/02/2018 06:31

Sorry your feeling low @Emmasmum2013, I hope you feel better soon. Pregnancy can be a really difficult time and it's understandable you're feeling a bit down.

Good luck with your results @Sparklesdontshine & @SpriteGirl. We're all here for you.

@Spritegirl best of luck with your result. It’s nice to know you had a nice and reassuring consultant, it does help to put your mind at ease!

No ms today or the rest of yesterday, so probably was a one off :) very nervous about the baby and thinking about how I will take any bad news at the scan, or even good news. It doesn’t feel real yet, I’m finding it hard to process what I will be doing in the next 9ish months (11 weeks today).. telling my family and work is what I’m most worried about.. but my friend just says ‘well it’s done now so if they don’t like it then that’s up to them if they want to be involved’.. which is true I know. But nevertheless I’m still scared :( I can tell my mum will be disappointed in me. Sorry to be a downer, just the thoughts that have been running through my head recently

Gem173 · 06/02/2018 07:01

@Sparkles good luck with your result too!! X

Stephiewoo · 06/02/2018 07:12

@Gem173

I'm not sure if your family set up, but do you know what? Who cares what anyone thinks!!!!This is your life and you will make it what you will, so many things happen in our lives and for some reason us girls always seek the approval of others.
I'm with you on the anxiety of the scan, I've had a shocking week or so and don't really know what's happening with work etc.
We've both got our scans the same day next Thursday I think, I'm with you all the way sweet.xx

Whichoneisit · 06/02/2018 08:04

So sorry I’ve been so absent. The flu hit me hard and I haven’t been able to get out of bed. GP saw me yesterday and said I now also have a chest, throat and ear infection. I don’t think I’ve ever been so unwell! Hoping the anti biotics kick in school because DH is away until Friday night!
My nifty results finally came back after 15 days yesterday. The delay was nothing to worry about. All very low risk (into the millions). And surprisingly, the consultant’s early guess was wrong and we’re expecting a girl. DD and DS seem pleased.
For those of you who have received high risk results from your nuchal and are having the harmony, good luck. The majority of that I’ve read shows a huge difference in the risk factors so I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
13 weeks today. Have been worried about the risks to the baby of being so well and the anti biotics but I’m doing what I can. Will probably see the Consultant at the weekend for some reassurance.

Sjc1989 · 06/02/2018 08:18

My current email and my Facebook are different (I’ve forgotten password for fb one) hope that’s not a problem

milney25 · 06/02/2018 08:31

@Gem173 have you decided when you are going to tell them? I'm sure it will be a huge weight off. Hopefully they'll surprise you and be delighted for you! And if they aren't, I hope you can put anything negative to the back of your mind.

@Whichoneisit goodness that sounds terrible! I hope you start to feel better soon.

Has anyone had their exemption certificate through yet? I handed my form in at my Gp over 3 weeks ago, but still nothing. Maybe they are just really slow.

I ordered a pregnancy pillow off eBay and used it for the first time last night. Slept like an absolute dream!

SpriteGirl · 06/02/2018 08:57

Thank you everyone. I know it's completely irrational but when I look at the scan photo of my little baby I feel like I've already let him or her down a bit. I'm supposed to provide a safe environment and I might have failed to do that.

Trying to keep my mind off it and concentrate on other things.

@Gem173 why would our Mum be disappointed in you? Sorry I don't mean to pry if you don't want to talk about it.

@StrawberryLemonade 14 weeks here today too!

@Sjc1989 to be added to the group, facebook adds you, using your email address used for facebook...and sends a message to that email, making you aware of the invite, that you then click on and accept. you should be able to go into your facebook settings, to see what email address you have registered with facebook.

Gem173 · 06/02/2018 11:04

@stephiewoo
Thankyou for the advice, my oh says that our business is our business so we can do whatever we like and should not seek approval from everyone. He’s quite free spirited and been raised to do whatever he chooses. My scan is on Tuesday actually but will still be holding your virtual hand on the Thursday :)

@milney25 will be telling them either Valentine’s Day or during next week whenever I can see my mum.

@SpriteGirl me and oh have been together nearly 3 years. I moved out of my mums to live with his family and from then on started to rent my own home. I got engaged last October and me and oh started thinking about kids. We both wanted them early on and know that we aren’t going to split up (we have been through loads and have still managed to keep it all together) my mother was okay about me getting engaged because she said ‘I can call it off whenever’ but wasn’t happy about the idea of a child when I could get stuck with it alone.
My mum met someone in her past got engaged then ended it to be with my dad. When I was 12 she ran away with another man who she had been having an affair with. So I moved around a lot. And after 4 years of that (the man who she said was her soulmate) he died from meningitis on Boxing Day 2013. So I guess my mum is scared il end up wanting someone else or something else as I grow older. But I have reminded her many a time that I’m not her.
Anyway that’s my life lol I’m sure it will work out fine. This baby is very wanted by me and oh.

TinoTheArtisticMouse · 06/02/2018 12:18

I thinks it's normal to be nervous about telling your parents Gem.
First time around I was 34, been with OH for 14 years, owned our own home etc, but I was still nervous, as I'd never had any conversations about starting a family with them, so I didn't have a feel for how they would take it. As it happens they were overjoyed.
Even if your parents don't have the initial reaction that you'd hope for, just give them time and hopefully they'll be over the moon once it sinks in x

Gem173 · 06/02/2018 12:23

Thanks for the support, my grandparents and oh parents already know. All parties overjoyed, so much so my grandad started comparing prams on mothercare 😂 just my parents and oh grandparents don’t know. But they will soon :)

RainbowsAndUnicorns23 · 06/02/2018 12:33

I just got a call from doctor, my abmormal result was for thrush! Only slightly so got to pick up a prescription for some cream. Strange as ive not really been itchy like u think of with thrush. Pleased its been picked up tho and treated.

@Gem173 with my first i was 19, had been with OH 18 months.. was so scared to tell my mum, she actually cried (not happy tears!) But she soon got excited about another grandchild (I've got older sisters with children) this time (almost 6 years later) i was just as nervous to tell her! She was so happy for us.

Where do u get the form for the exemption certificate? I really need to send off for mine, can it be back dated? Ive had a couple of prescriptions!

SpriteGirl · 06/02/2018 12:47

@Gem173 we all have to make our own choices and live by them. I'm sure your Mum will be excited once she gets used to the idea.

milney25 · 06/02/2018 12:50

@RainbowsAndUnicorns23 I got my firm form the GP and took it back to them to post. But, you might be able to get it online too.

Gem173 · 06/02/2018 13:52

Thanks ladies 🙂xx

Stephiewoo · 06/02/2018 13:57

The last 7 days have been pants.
Off work now, going to be sacked for sure.
OH will be operated on and in plaster for 12 weeks.
Little DD's father being a knob chops.
Bills to pay and so skint what with xmas just gone and birthdays, plus going to be on half pay soon too.
Love my job just can't stand the people I work with and it's gone too far to ignore.
Feeling a little isolated and sad.

milney25 · 06/02/2018 14:02

@Stephiewoo why are they going to sack you? I remember you saying you were signed off for a bit, but not being sacked!

Gem173 · 06/02/2018 14:14

@Stephiewoo think positive, I know work sucks but think of what the money can do and how much happiness it brings when you and your family can go out and do stuff together. Only do what you can xx

Beanmama18 · 06/02/2018 14:53

Sorry I've not been on here much. Just impatiently waiting for my scan on Monday. For those of you who have already had yours, my letter says it'll be about 2 hours. What else is involved? 2 hours seems like a very long time!

Gizzymum · 06/02/2018 15:03

Had my scan (it took 30mins cos of a "retroverted uterus" and "lots of gas" 😳). They were running 45mins late which made the full bladder requirement very uncomfortable, as as soon as she tried to scan me she sent me to the loo as it was too full!!
They brought EDD forward to 18.8.18, but weren't able to do the nuchal measurement due to the above "issues", but as I've had the Harmony test( I wish the results would hurry up) and it's more accurate anyway I'm not too bothered about that.
