Thought I'd start up a new thread as the old one has run out of space.

Hello ladies,

Still incredibly sick but the consultant has prescribed new medication so hopefully that will help. Went for a private scan to make sure everything is still ok (I’ve been so worried with being so sick and stressed) and there was peanut waving and chillin’ with his arms behind his head! ❤️ And yes, he’s a he! We’re having a boy!

For anyone who's not on the Facebook page, I've just found out I'm expecting another girl!

Buk88 · 19/02/2018 19:37

Aww congratulations @YouCantBeSirius! Thank you for letting us non-facebookers know 😊 x

Gem173 · 19/02/2018 20:04

Congratulations @youcantbesirius! Such amazing news! X

YouCantBeSirius · 19/02/2018 20:55

I'm really chuffed, would have been either way. Was lovely to see the baby again. She wasn't in the best of positions to begin with so I had to get up and move about, have a drink then I had to lay on my side but we got there in the end.

bear1991 · 19/02/2018 21:10

Hi ladies!

Hoping you can help reassure me! I’m 15w today with my first baby (due 13th August) but getting concerned as I have hardly any baby bump! I had my 12w scan a few weeks ago and all looked fine but just seems so long till the 20w scan - anyone else not have a bump yet?

milney25 · 19/02/2018 21:13

Hi @bear1991 I am 16+5 and no bump yet! I'm bloated in the evenings and look large but it's defo not a bump. I'm tall (5'11) and have some curves, so I assume that's why?!

bear1991 · 19/02/2018 21:22

Hi @milney25 oh that’s a relief! I’m glad to know I’m not the only one - I’m getting obsessed every time I walk past a mirror haha! Sometimes I think I’m getting a bump then I’m sure it’s just bloat - I can’t wait to have a proper bump and to start feeling pregnant properly! My morning sickness has almost completely gone over the last 2 weeks so was getting a tad worried!

SpriteGirl · 19/02/2018 21:23

Hi @misshannah your boss can’t make you decide the specifics of your maternity leave now and personally I wouldn’t want to - what if you change your mind about something.

If I were you I’d be really cross and I’d be telling her and HR that as the law states 15 weeks prior to due date you haven’t given it much thought yet.

I got in to work today and my boss told me he’d been reading up on the pregnancy policy and that whilst I’m pregnant, if I don’t feel well I can just not go in and it won’t be counted as sick leave as it would be pregnancy discrimination. I said I could’ve done with knowing that earlier on when I felt awful and dragged myself in! Lol. I hadn’t told anyone then anyway. But that’s how you should be treated.

Of course we all need to plan for our maternity leaves and to ensure business continuity but there’s a law in place for a reason. These people wouldn’t let themselves be treated badly - makes me so mad 😡 sorry hormones!

milney25 · 19/02/2018 21:25

@bear1991 I know, I spend a few hours furiously googling 16 weeks and no bump! My mum told me just to enjoy it, because it gets so boring re wearing your small pool of MAT clothes! Though admittedly, my jeans are really bloody tight around the middle now...

bear1991 · 19/02/2018 21:33

@milney25 argh I’ve spent the whole evening googling that! Good to know I’m not the only one - hubby keeps telling me off! I know I’ve bought some mat jeans but not big enough to fit into them yet - although struggling to do up my old jeans. Living in dresses and dungarees at the moment but I feel I’ve just got thicker around my waist in general rather than a bump!

39Suzy · 19/02/2018 21:56

@bear1991 i know what you mean...i just feel fat. I am 15w and in the last few days i can hardly squeeze into my last pair of jeans and yet maternity jeans bloody fall down every two seconds. I am sick already of living in tunic dresses and leggings for work ☹

bear1991 · 19/02/2018 22:03

39Suzy I know the feeling - getting frustrated at being in between normal and mat clothes. Don’t really want to spent money on getting normal clothes a size bigger as I’m sure I’ll grow out of them in no time! Have you tried bump bands? They’re quite good and you can wear them over normal jeans with the button undone 😊

clementineclouds · 19/02/2018 22:40

@dancingunicorns123 please pm me on mn, with the email address you use for fb. I can then send an invite to the group. x

dancingunicorns123 · 19/02/2018 23:10

@clementineclouds sorry how do you pm?

39Suzy · 20/02/2018 06:12

@Bear1991 not yet but have invested in an over bump pair of jeans and work trousers to see how i get on. Will keep you posted 😁

clementineclouds · 20/02/2018 09:54

@dancingunicorns123 on a laptop, against each post (on the right hand side), you should see Message Poster as an option. Click on that, will take you to PM's. Alternatively, go to the top of the screen, find My Mumsnet, then choose My Inbox, and you'll need my username, to send the message too (send a test message first, before sending your email, to be sure if you want).

On the app, you should see 3 dots on the right of my post, click on that and one of the options is PM.

Hope that helps. x

dancingunicorns123 · 20/02/2018 09:57

Thankyou @clementineclouds , I can't find it on the app so I'll get the laptop out later!

Hannahcarp27 · 20/02/2018 10:40

Anyone still waiting for 12 week Scan? Mine is tomorrow feels like I've been waiting forever!! Also still got horrible morning sickness didn't have hardly anything last time!!

Gizzymum · 20/02/2018 13:10

@bear1991 I didn't get a bump until about 5mths last time (my first), but this time I look as big as I was at 6mths (and I'm only 14wks). Enjoy it while it lasts!

I had a teeny bit of fresh blood this morning after going to the loo so have been to the Early Pregnancy Unit where they used a Doppler and heard a heartbeat and heard him kick so hopefully all is okay. I do have a bit of upper abdo stomach ache but think this may be due to the stress of it all...

One of the mums on my May 2017 MN threads unfortunately got it confirmed today she'd mc at 10wks today 😢

Gem173 · 20/02/2018 13:50

Urgh got a stinking cold and feel like shite. Got a fever and my throat has closed up :( yet I’m working because we got no staff in..

SpriteGirl · 20/02/2018 13:56

Had my first consultant appointment today. The consultant I was supposed to see "wasn't there" so I saw someone else.

Anyway been given two extra growth scans at 28 and 34 weeks to check baby's size as my own weight was low at the beginning of the pregnancy. No idea if my weight gain is on track, got my 16 week midwife appointment on Thursday so I'll see what she says. need to start a big list of things to ask her!

The consultant also did a quick scan so we got to see our little one again, I just smile uncontrollably when I see it on the screen.

Can't wait to begin to feel it move. 16 weeks today so it won't be for at least a couple of weeks yet.

bear1991 · 20/02/2018 19:15

So rather cheerfully said to hubby last night that I thought my morning sickness had finally gone. Spent this morning hugging the toilet bowl :(

Anyone else think they are feeling flutters yet? I’m only 15 weeks so not sure if it’s way too early or whether it’s just gas! Confused
