Thought I'd start up a new thread as the old one has run out of space.

@E2017 would you be able to private message me please so I can send you my email address for the Facebook group. I am having problems and can't seem to send private messages on here from the app x

E2017 · 16/02/2018 18:05

@ladybirdno1 just messaged you. X

Pereie · 16/02/2018 19:57

I can't believe people actually ask if 'it' was planned Confused some folk honestly!

milney25 · 16/02/2018 20:05

@Gem173 glad it went well and you have a plan you are happy with! It's so maddening that someone would ask you that! So incredibly rude, I'm outraged for you!! You should respond and say 'why, were you an accident?'

Stephiewoo · 16/02/2018 20:28

People are so rude asking if the baby is planned, I feel it's so irrelevant, I still find conception pregnancy and birth a real miracle.

Gem173 · 16/02/2018 20:46

I know it makes me sad when people ask. It’s none of their business and tbh it doesn’t even matter. The baby would have been loved the same whatever the situation. It just causes a bit of uneasiness on my part because although I don’t mind normal questions, questions about it being planned seem to give me anxiety like people are judging :( trying not to think about it and just get on with it, I know who my friends are, the others are just nosey Parker’s..

Gizzymum · 16/02/2018 22:05

I don't mind people asking me if it was planned, but I have an (almost) 9mth old DS and I think people assume I'm mad. I just say yes it was, I'm almost 40 so couldn't wait forever, and it just happened quicker than we expected. But then again I don't tend to worry about what others think about my choices etc, as long as I'm happy with them other people can think what they want (if they try to tell me what they think, however, they get shut down).

peterpanwendy · 17/02/2018 10:01

@Gem173 glad it went well! You wouldn't believe the amount of times I was asked if it was planned too.. I reckon it's an age thing because we are 'young'. I find it so rude and just do an awkward laugh and say yes (like really?!?)

@E2017 thanks so much! Will go on the web (I use the app) and do it now :) x

Gem173 · 17/02/2018 11:30

Haha I know it’s a pain! My results come back am low risk :) Down syndrome result was like 1 in 30,500 xx

Pereie · 17/02/2018 11:58

@Gem173 my risk of downs was 'low' at 1 in 749 Confused my number doesn't seem so low.

Gem173 · 17/02/2018 14:22

It doesn’t seem low risk does it, 30,000 seems lowish but yours really looks borderline low/high xx

peterpanwendy · 17/02/2018 14:33

@Gem173 did you get your results through the post? That's so quick I hope mine are the same!

milney25 · 17/02/2018 15:21

@Pereie mine was 1 in 900, I think around 150 is the threshold for being considered a high risk, and you are quite some way off that!

BertieBotts · 17/02/2018 15:45

Someone asked me if I was happy! I assume that's code for "Was it planned?" I mean I had just said that it's a big change for us since DS is 9, but still!

Stephiewoo · 17/02/2018 19:05

@BertieBotts I think that's awful with someone asking 'are you happy?' I think I'd have to knock them out or something!😂🤬

Gem173 · 17/02/2018 19:25

@peterpanwendy yeah it came in the post today! So that’s 4 days it took from bloods to today, was very quick! Hope yours comes soon, tbh I forgot I was gunna receive it!

SpriteGirl · 17/02/2018 20:29

Unless I am mistaken the threshold for low risk is age dependent. So for my age my risk should have been 1 in 298 or lower.

milney25 · 17/02/2018 20:45

My hospital will only call you back as high risk if you are under 150. The age dependant banding seems more scientific though!

RainbowsAndUnicorns23 · 17/02/2018 23:19

Had my gender scan today! DS is so haopy he is getting a baby BROTHER! I just want August to hurry up now! X

peterpanwendy · 18/02/2018 00:07

Oh wow @RainbowsAndUnicorns23 it's amazing someone from this group is already having a gender scan! How lovely for you and your family, congrats x

StrawberryLemonade · 18/02/2018 07:12

I feel similar about the screening risk results. Think I said before mine for DS is 1:1300 but last time was 1:50000 so although clearly low risk does seem much higher this time. Guess I’m 3 years older though!

Congrats on the little boy rainbowsandunicorns!

I’m on a weekend away this weekend with some friends from my last mn antenatal thread. It’s so lovely as we’ve known each other for almost 4 years but some of us had never met. The kids have been playing great together and I just think it’s amazing what can end up coming out of these groups!

dancingunicorns123 · 18/02/2018 07:46

This is my 11w6d scan, is anyone good at the nub theory and give a guess at the gender?
