Thought I'd start up a new thread as the old one has run out of space.

Not sure if you ladies are aware but new look have a sale on. I’ve managed to pick up 2 pairs of maternity jeans for £3 each and 2 pairs which were buy 1 get 1 half price (I wear jeans a lot so wanted a few pairs). Looks like the sale is online now rather than just in store.

Gem173 · 15/02/2018 20:09

Just booked my gender scan for 17th March (my birthday) will be 16+3 sooo excited!

RainbowsAndUnicorns23 · 15/02/2018 22:29

Lovely scan pics. Hi to the newbies.

I am so excited, got my private gender scan sat!

peterpanwendy · 15/02/2018 22:40

@Gem173 ahh that will be such a special day! I'm going to have a private gender scan around then too, I already can't wait 😍

BertieBotts · 16/02/2018 00:29

My gynecologist's scan machine is really grainy too, badb.

DH has managed to get Monday off work so we can go to the detailed scan together :)

milney25 · 16/02/2018 06:40

I'm really jealous of everyone's gender scans. DH says we should just wait until 20 weeks, to be honest I'm not worried about finding out the gender, just wanting to see mini again!

StrawberryLemonade · 16/02/2018 06:51

I’m totally going against the grain here but I love not knowing if I’m having a boy or a girl until baby arrives! Flying the flag for team yellow Grin
In a way it would be nice to know if I should wash and sort all DD’s old clothes - but I’ll want new things for the baby regardless so it doesn’t really matter.

milney25 · 16/02/2018 07:06

I like the idea of not finding out, my DH really wants to know though. I figure he doesn't get to be in control of too many things and so I should give him this!

peterpanwendy · 16/02/2018 07:19

I secretly just want the other scan so I can see baby again and also then you get 2 opinions on the sex just in case ones wrong I don't want to go out buying 'girls' or 'boys' clothes and it get changed! Which saying that I'm not really into pink vs blue I do like a lot more of the neutral stuff (Next have some gorgeous navy and red bits).

I can totally see why people wait and have a surprise I'm just far too impatient and I think I'm going to find choosing a name sooo hard!

Anyone else's guilty pleasure reading lists of baby names (over and over and over)?

CumbrianExile · 16/02/2018 07:34

Strawberry I'm with you, team yellow all the way. I was the same with ds, it was lovely that dh got to tell me the sex after he was born.

A lot of people keep asking if we will find out and what we would prefer! I just replay 'it's a baby and as long as it's healthy we'll be happy'.

SpriteGirl · 16/02/2018 07:37

@StrawberryLemonade I’m with you on team yellow. We don’t want to know either and I’m excited to have a surprise when he/she arrives.

Have read lots of name lists too @peterpanwendy I have no idea what we are going to call it. I had one I liked for a girl but my husband doesn’t. It’s occurred to me that I am incredibly fussy when it comes to choosing anything so how I am going to choose a baby name I do not know 🤦🏻‍♀️

butterfly86 · 16/02/2018 07:47

We found out with dd but I'm keen to have a surprise this time, dh would like to find out but he got his own way last time. It mIght be different when I'm in the scan room and the choice is there but for now I'm going with a surprise.

milney25 · 16/02/2018 08:49

Has anyone else's nausea gone away and come back (sorry I know some of you have been consistently VERY sick!)? I was feeling much better at 14 weeks. 16 now and it's been back in full force for the last few days!

bobcat85 · 16/02/2018 10:45

I'm going to book a sex scan at some point I think. It was really nice last time and it'd be good to know for logistical purposes. Got loads of clothes to go through, most of which I'd be happy to stick a girl in but would be good knowing.
I'm hoping for another boy as we have our boy name and I can't find any girls names I love. Plus I'd really like to have two little boys.

Gizzymum · 16/02/2018 11:52

We struggled to find a name for DS1 so god knows what we are going to call DS2 when he arrives... 😩

YouCantBeSirius · 16/02/2018 12:06

I've got 3 girls names and 3 boys names that I love. Middle names will be after family members. I was NOT this organised with my DD.

RainbowsAndUnicorns23 · 16/02/2018 12:16

I have boys names i like but non i love if that makes sense.. but lots of girls names i love! With my DS we only had one name we loved and it was a boys so was lucky there! 24 hours till i hopefully find out!

Sugarskulllover · 16/02/2018 12:54

I wish I could wait for the surprise but I am so impatient! Contemplating paying for a gender scan but not sure!

We've got a boy and a girls name after much deliberation. I have a feeling the boys name will change again but the girls names we've picked I love it so much and he middle name is after my nan who I was incredibly close to!

Can't wait for these next few weeks! I have a midwife appointment on Thursday and she said they'll listen to the heartbeat so looking forward to hearing their little heart beating! Smile

Beanmama18 · 16/02/2018 14:02

We're booking a private scan to find out the sex. I just desperately want to know. I want to be able to have colourful clothes and a nursery ready instead of every thing being neutral. We've been set on a boys name since even before I was pregnant. Cannot decide on a girl's name tho, so at least if we find out we're having a girl we've got some time to finally decide!

peterpanwendy · 16/02/2018 15:56

@CumbrianExile I hate it when people ask if you have a preference! I always say a healthy baby too!

@SpriteGirl we are the same, I find girls names harder to choose than boys names and like you I am soooo fussy!

@YouCantBeSirius we are the same we know the middle names for both a boy and girl based on family members but first names are so hard!

@Beanmama18 I'm with you on the neutral clothing, there's hardly any in all shops and even then I don't like much of it :(

Off topic but is anyone here on the Facebook group and could add me in? I have messaged @clementineclouds but I notice she hasn't been on in a while. I'd like to join :)

TheSleeperandTheSpindle · 16/02/2018 15:58

@peterpanwendy I PMd E2017 and she added me the other day, maybe the other person you messaged doesn’t use the site very often Smile

babyH3O · 16/02/2018 16:00

@milney25 Nausea constantly here, also 16wks. I'm starting to think I should just resign myself to this continuing!

peterpanwendy · 16/02/2018 16:04

@TheSleeperandTheSpindle oh thank you! I will PM her x

Gem173 · 16/02/2018 16:47

Well told my boss and work and they are supportive. Plan is to work till due date in my current position, go on maternity leave then come back to my new job. Quite a good plan, just getting fed up of people asking lots of questions. Was it planned etc? It’s annoying, just want to say ‘well it doesn’t matter now, does it!’

E2017 · 16/02/2018 17:02

@peterpanwendy more than happy to add you and anyone else that wants to be added to the fb group just pm me the email address that you use for fb and I'll add you. It will then email you an invite to that email address (email does seem to have a tendency to go into spam boxes though so keep an eye on that as well). If you have any issues just tag me in a post on here and will do whatever I can to help. X
