Thought I'd start up a new thread as the old one has run out of space.

Aww, guys! I really feel for you still feeling awful Sad

Hopefully you will be able to get some help in getting it under control.

I am 14+6 and the nausea/sickness is very manageable but my headaches seem to be taking over.

Mantra: IT WILL ALL BE WORTH IT IN THE END Confused

E2017 · 12/02/2018 09:38

Shockingly managed to get a drs appointment and even better it was an early one so I'm back at home. Dr has done urine test no infection she said I was just clear of registering as dehydrated. She said the weight loss, level of sickness etc is all just courtesy of HG which may or may not go away at some point.
She has told me to try going back onto cyclezine if prochlorperazine has stopped working. She said she wouldn't recommend me trying any others as she thinks they are unlikely to help. If I feel any worse I have to do another urine test and go back in.
She said baby will be fine as it will just take whatever nutrients it requires from me and for me to just eat whatever I can whenever I can.
Don't feel very reassured that baby is ok just because I've been so sick for so long. 20 week scan feels like a very long way away. 🙁

gkeen369 · 12/02/2018 11:36

Good luck with scans today and sorry to those still suffering with sickness.

I've got a scan at women's health later today as I had some light brown discharge on Saturday and then some much darker brown today with some cramping.
I'm sure everything will be fine but I never had anything like this with my last pregnancy or so far with this one. Only had my dating scan on Wednesday so hoping nothings changed. 🤞🏻

butterfly86 · 12/02/2018 12:00

@E2017 pleased you managed to get an appointment and have been checked out. Did they not tell you to take cyclizine and prochlorperazine together? I'm on both I can't take one without the other or I'm just I'll, I'm fuming as went to get some more prochlorperazine off the gp and he refused to prescribe it! He said I don't need both together and seeing as I'm over 12 weeks I should start feeling better soon what a joke 😠 I've had to ring the hospital and they've done me a prescription but it's so annoying I have to drive miles to the hospital to pick it up all because the gp wouldn't give me something I actually need!

Herecomesanotherone2018 · 12/02/2018 12:01

E2017 That's shocking advise. Have you joined the hyperemesis support thread?

butterfly86 · 12/02/2018 12:01

*@gkeen369 I hope everything is ok when you have your scan x

CeeP · 12/02/2018 12:15

Hi All - long time MN lurker - but have recently discovered I'm pregnant - eeek.

The Doctor initially predicted an early September due date, but had a booking in appointment last week, and the midwife calculated 11 1/2, so scan all booked for this Friday, with a 26th August predicted due date.

Very excited and nervous! And lovely reading about everyone's progress so far :)

Emmasmum2013 · 12/02/2018 15:59

Welcome @CeeP! Glad to have you with us!

@butterfly86 - your GP is ridiculous! You should complain to the practice manager about that. I mean, whats the point in prescribing any of us anything.. we'll all give birth soon and it will go away! Hmm
I get that they might be under pressure to not unnecessarily prescribe things but there really is no guarantee that 12 weeks means you'll magically feel better - I certainly didn't!!

@E2017 I'm sure the baby will be fine. I'm more concerned that you've dropped so much weight in such a short space of time. I've lost a few pounds but nothing like that.
Hopefully it'll pass soon and we'll be able to make up for lost time. I can't wait to get back in the kitchen and start cooking again!!

gkeen369 · 12/02/2018 16:01

Just got home and all is well. Saw baby Roo's heart beating and they were having a good jump around. They couldn't find any cause for the bleeding but told me to get back in touch if it worsens. Phew!
Since I'm over 12 weeks though I had to have an Anti-D injection. Gar!!! Hate it!! But I'd choose to have it and have a healthy Roo every day of the week!!

StrawberryLemonade · 12/02/2018 16:30

gkeen glad all is ok. I had a bleed at the same stage following my scan and they managed to listen in with the Doppler. Touch wood I haven’t had any more since so I hope you don’t either!
Pereie I’m the same weeks as you and also having headaches. Trying to drink more incase it’s dehydration and have had 2 lots of paracetamol today so hoping it clears soon.

Sorry a couple of you have had poor experience with your GP’s today. I’m really not one to moan about them usually but it does sound like they’ve been less than sympathetic. Sickness doesn’t miraculously settle at 12 weeks!! I’d suggest if you’re not sorted going back to see a more sympathetic doctor.

Gem173 · 12/02/2018 16:43

Hey ladies , sorry you guys are feeling sick still and the doctors aren’t very helpful.
My scans tomorrow at 10:30am eek! Am nervous but excited! Glad some checkup scans and Dopplers went okay!
Will finally be able to see my twinkle :)
However have had pains today and yesterday. They aren’t bad similar to stretching pains but have been on going, through the 12 weeks I have them on and off but have had it for 2 days in a row now :/ no bleeding so hoping for the best! Will let you know how I get on tomorrow!

E2017 · 12/02/2018 17:14

@Herecomesanotherone2018 I didn't know there was a hyperemesis thread 😳

Herecomesanotherone2018 · 12/02/2018 17:54

E2017 if you go on the pregnancy page there's a thread on there. The women there are so helpful, and will help you push for the treatment you need! Hope to see you there soon x

butterfly86 · 12/02/2018 18:20

@emmasmum I'm putting a complaint in about him he's actually useless at the best of times I didn't realise my appointment was with him 😩 I have a prescription now that they sorted out at the pregnancy assessment unit with no problem, I mean if the gp was unsure he could have called them to check but he was just adamant 8 didn't need them! How the hell does he know how I'm feeling I was so angry I could have punched him! Didn't help I'm still feeling rough after skipping meds yesterday, I feel like I've put myself back at square one but hopefully it will settle a bit.

@gkeen glad all was ok at your scan.

Beanmama18 · 12/02/2018 19:13

Scan went really well. All looked good. Just the blood test results to come back. It's actually starting to sink in now. Especially after telling the parents!!

peterpanwendy · 12/02/2018 21:15

Anyone else feeling a bit deflated with the sickness? I am miserable. There's about 3-4 waking hours a day where i get respite from it, the rest I just feel awful. I'm on half term now and feel worse than I do at work (I suppose it always gets worse when you rest, typical.l) but I just find myself getting so weepy and emotional because I am sick of feeling sick!
Please someone tell me there's a light at the end of the tunnel?

butterfly86 · 12/02/2018 21:55

@peterpanwendy I totally get how you feel, it really does wear you down. Aside from feeling sick all the time and being sick my mouth tastes like crap all the time which makes me feel worse. The tablets also give me a dry mouth. There is light at the end of the tunnel, I had pretty bad sickness in my first pregnancy..nowhere near as bad as this time but I still felt like it would never end but I just woke up one morning and it was gone! That wasnt until 22 weeks but once it's gone you do forgot how ill you felt. Hope you feel better soon x

butterfly86 · 12/02/2018 21:59

Anyone on cyclogest have you stopped it yet? Last time I'm sure I was told I could stop after 12 weeks but I went over a bit as I had some left. I assume it will be the same this time, my consultant is on holiday until next week and I'm seeing her next wed anyway when I'll be 14 weeks, I've got enough to last me until 13+4 I'm not sure if I should get a few more from the gp until I see the consultant or just stop when I run out?

milney25 · 12/02/2018 22:14

@butterfly86 I stopped mine just over 13 weeks, I'm 15+5 now. I went down to one a day for a few days, just to avoid stopping all of a sudden.

dancingunicorns123 · 12/02/2018 23:44

Hi due August 27th, had a scan at 8 weeks and I'm 12 weeks today got my next scan on 14th! (Also my birthdayGrin)!!

butterfly86 · 13/02/2018 07:56

@milney25 That's my dilemma, I'm only on one a day so can't cut down other than doing every other day but I wondered if that would be worse...
@dancingunicorns123 welcome! How lovely having your scan on your birthday...and valentines day! In my first pregnancy I had my 20w scan on Feb 14th I only remember because of valentines day Grin

peterpanwendy · 13/02/2018 08:07

I'm 12 weeks today! This day has felt a long time coming. Praying all is ok at my scan tomorrow.

@dancingunicorns123 happy birthday for tomorrow! I also have my scan tomorrow :)

milney25 · 13/02/2018 08:08

@butterfly86 I know a lot of people go down to alternate days. I was really nervous. I'd had a lot of spotting whilst on cyclogest (and before) and I'd read that the cyclogest can cause that, and actually my spotting ended (touchwood) since I stopped it.

milney25 · 13/02/2018 08:08

@Gem173 I hope our scan goes well today! I bet this has felt like a long time coming!!! Let us know!

dancingunicorns123 · 13/02/2018 08:08

@peterpanwendy congratulations! Good luck, let me know how it goes?!
