I hope this works! Here is a new thread as the old one was getting v long.
I hope everyone is doing ok. If I'm anything to go by you will be wandering around queasy and exhausted - isn't this fun?!

OP posts:

I actually got a lie in this morning. As we went to London last night, MIL had dd for night. I don't work tues and MIL dropped ddof at nursery so i just took things at my own pace this morning. It was bliss. Just going to do things for me today like pop to shops and potter around, take puppy for long walk. 5 a'clock will soon come aroumd though!

birdseed · 01/05/2007 12:03

Slight imposter on this thread as usually post on the new year thread. Due 31st dec I think, so almost inbetween!
...but thought that I would pick your brains.

....when should an early scan take place?

Thank you!

JARM · 01/05/2007 12:09

Depends how early!

Ive been put through for an "early" dating scan because I am a bit unsure of dates....

My scan is 14th May which will make me 11+2

insywinsyspider · 01/05/2007 12:23

trying to do this quickly as haven't told anyone at work that am pg so hopoing don't get caught on this web site!

work is going ok - had a rubbish start to the day yesterday as ds managed to flip potty over himself and get poo on carpet, then he was sick in his toy box and i was being a bit emotional when leaving house and backed into dh's car! nightmare! anyway this morning was better except a quick dash back into the house to be sick before i left

appart from the odd bit of quesiness - anyone else feel supprisingly not pg?? roll on my scan date - no booking in app or anything yet

pecka - sorry to here your news, thinking of you x

and to everyone worried about weight, i put on 3-4 stone with first pg (am a size 12) and was really down about it because although I ate my fair amount of cakes and craved take out curry I did try and eat sensibly, anyway was back in pre-pg jeans 10 days after birth - so even if it happens to you there is always hope!

v of everyone having lovely relaxing days - missing my much needed naps, was in bed by 8pm last night!

skidaddle · 01/05/2007 13:54

Hi all, lol at your ds flipping the potty over insy!! Although I'm sure it was not very funny at the time. dd did a huge poo on the bathroom floor while I was in the shower this morning and I wasn't sure whether to wait until I'd finished before cleaning it up but than she started trying to scoop it up (probably to eat it, she has done this before ) so thought I'd better cut my shower short! Oh can't wait for potty training

Had my booking appt with mw today - she was really rubbish and nearly speared my arm off trying to get blood and then got someone else to do it who said she hadn't gone anywhere near my vein... also was v. unsympathtic about lack of pg symptoms and said well it might be a missed mc but you'll just have to wait and see - thanks, that's really helpful

And i have to have consultant-led care because I had a ventouse delivery last time??? Has anyone heard of this? Sounds ridiculous to me...

Sorry for the rant and what does it matter anyway as long as I have a lovely baby at the end of it

skidaddle · 01/05/2007 13:56

Beachbunni - really glad you made up with dp

Yes I am getting fat too - have put on nearly half a stone I think unless the mw's scales were wrong.... yes that'll be it

thelady · 01/05/2007 13:58

TMI alert:

I was a little constipated this morning, and after that, found I was bleeding from the vagina. I'm 9 weeks and a little bit, this is our first, and I'm trying very hard not to panic.

I know there's nothing that can be done at this stage - and to be honest, if there is something wrong then it's better all round for us to find out now than in several months' time.

Bleeding seems to have stopped for now, and DH is being absolutely wonderful, but I'm all in bits....

I've got a scan on Monday, so at least we'll know soon whether there's anything obviously wrong.

Nbg · 01/05/2007 14:00

Its good that the bleeding has stopped.

Was it bright red or brown?

thelady · 01/05/2007 14:09

Red, I'm afraid. Still can't understand why 'pushing' should have any effect at all at this stage... surely the cervix is locked up tighter than Fort Knox?

PeckaRolloverAgain · 01/05/2007 14:37

thelady, I know this sounds awful but are you sure it was your vagina you were bleeding from?

if you were constipated could you have had a tiny tear or piles or something!?

thelady · 01/05/2007 14:40

Definitely the front, Pecka....

skidaddle · 01/05/2007 14:47

thelady, has there been no more bleeding? If not I think that is good news but probably best to contract your mw/gp just in case

pecka, how are you? Is your blood test tomorrow?

PeckaRolloverAgain · 01/05/2007 15:27

Hiya, yes my blood test is tomorrow

Im feeling very pregnant and very confused

cazzybabs · 01/05/2007 15:36

OH blinking nora - there are 2 cases of slapped cheek in the year group I teach (not in my class though)....sadly it is most contagous before the child has any symptoms. AHHHHHHH I had to confess to school nurse she told me I need to speak to my GP .

there is also a case of headlice in my class and I keep itching - erghhhhhh!

AND I AM SO TIRED...

cazzybabs · 01/05/2007 15:41

Pecka - sorry have only just caught up with the news.

Life is shit. I hope your blood tests revel good news. I am thinking and praying for you.

skidaddle · 01/05/2007 15:53

pecka - that's great you're feeling very pg - could be good news tomorrow - we will all be hoping for you x

cazzybabs - oh no, poor you. Hopefully you will have had it already if you work with children. Have you phoned the gp yet?

PeckaRolloverAgain · 01/05/2007 15:54

ohhhhhhhhh just been offered guest list justin timberlake tickets, shall i go to cheer me up!?

skidaddle · 01/05/2007 15:57

YES!!!!!

skidaddle · 01/05/2007 15:58

When's the concert? Do you get to meet him?

PeckaRolloverAgain · 01/05/2007 15:59

tonight!

no, dont think ill get to meet him (couldnt check out the trousersnake anyway in my current condition

but tickets are free and good seats

skidaddle · 01/05/2007 16:07

pecka you are free to check out trousersnakes in ANY condition, just as long as you don't interfere with it.
Go go go and have a fantastic time

MamaMaiasaura · 01/05/2007 16:20

I had the scan and may have to move to Jan thread if there is one. Am not sure really what to make of it all tbh. This is what the letter says.

Gestational sac present 5.3mm. Embryo - inconclusive. (when doing the scan she said she thinks she may a glimpsed embryo but couldnt confirm and too early days) THere apperas to be a well formed gestation sac in the fundus which equals approx 4-5 weeks. We will re-scan in 2/52 to confirm viability.

Any advice girls? Has anyone had exp of such an early scan?

PeckaRolloverAgain · 01/05/2007 16:27

awen, I feel your pain

It soudns very similiar to mine altho mine was completely empty

how many weeks did you think you were?

They said my sac was 1cm which doesnt add up? she said it was about the size of my thumbnail

Have they offered take blood to measure hcg?

MamaMaiasaura · 01/05/2007 16:33

Tbh not sure could be anyhting from 4-8 weeks. The midwife today didnt think I was anymore than 5 weeks. It all looks healthy but wouldnt expect to see embryo at this stage as too early although she thinks she may have glimpsed she thought it was inconclusive. 2 weeks seems like an awfully long wait... just wait and the next 34 weeks will seem a long time too . Trying to be positive as been searching on the net and sac is a good size but not too big. Just thought i was further along and hoped to see heartbeat today.

Guess the later rumpy pumpy in the cycle paid off .. fingers crossed little one grows and grows xx
