if i've understood some of the previous posts, would it be the case that low iron reserves mean more than usual knackeredness? i can barely peel my sorry behind from the bed for more than twenty minutes without having to lie down again and am taking the rest of this week off sick, if i can. would iron help? do i need to wait for my booking-in appt and the blood tests?

Dundee can you ring your gp and ask if it will be ok for you to atart and take them or speak to a mw?
Ive had problems with iron for years and it has always made me feel so tired even after a good sleep.
Ive been off sick today as i could hardly get my self up and have been feeling really sick and i plan to take another couple of days off. Im not pushing myself to go to work when i feel like this

maybe ive got selective memory from last pg's as been a while but this brings a whole new meaning to feeling drained, i even told dd's teachers i was pg today as they commented on how awful i looked and been late 3 times last week (due to last minute chuck up) she was v pleased but stated that kids dont know and early days etc.

has anyone started gaining weight? I was horrified to see this morning that i've put on 4lbs already .

It's not helping that the only things i feel like eating at the moment are junky sugary foods, but i'm going to have to make a really determined effort from today onwards or else my anxiety over my weight is going to blight this entire pregnancy

Well ladies feeling a bit perkier today. Me and dp made up. Well there's no point adding to the stress and holding a grudge.

I've only put on 1lb, altho my clothes are so tight I really thought it was closer to a stone! Got v depressed on saturday when I found most of my clothes don't fit me as they were tight to start off with. Just another excuse to go shopping Can't wait til I start getting a proper bump and don't just look like I've got a beer belly!

Glad to see there are others off on the sick. My doctor signed me off last wk as I was so exhausted. Couldn't have timed it better with the weather. Now all I have to do it explain why I've got a tan but I'm recouperating in the sun

Well following on from my last post my symptoms have returned, although I do thing the sickness and tiredness is easing up a little. Just been to the toilet and found a little bit of orangy/pink cm (yuck sorry if tmi); however this is about the time I would normally get my period so hopefully that is what it is.
Someone (Niks?) mentioned sharp painful twinges in their tummy; I have been having the same thing but I seem to remember this from the last time round so hope it is just the normal pain of things happenin' down below!! Oh I hate these first few weeks!!
Very sorry to hear your news Pecka, I really hope you are wrong and it isn't all over for you.
By the way, to everyone who is eating crap, I'm there!! Pork pies, chicken supernoodles, chips.... And Skidaddle I had to laugh when you said you got up in the night to make lemon pancakes as that is all I have fancied this morning (although the ones you can buy with raisins in them - delicious).

Hi everyone. Haven't got much to post about except i'm looking about 6 months pregnant and i'm sick as a dog! I can't eat for most of the day and then about 8pm i'll crave absolute crap!

Dh and me went to London last night and I was really paranoid the whole time and I have no idea why. I just seemed to be on tender hooks and didn't want to leave dh side. I am never ever like that.
Although i did do a bit of star spotting and saw Myleene Klass walking past the restaurant we were in sporting and adorable bump! I just feel fat and hideous at the mo. anyone else feel the same?

Have heard loads of people say she looks really good.

I have come over all tired. I feel like I have been hit over the head and its really hard to keep my eyes open. I think I'll start taking the Spatone again and see if it makes a difference.
But on a plus side, we got our new bed today so hopefully I'll get a good sleep tonight
