I hope this works! Here is a new thread as the old one was getting v long.
I hope everyone is doing ok. If I'm anything to go by you will be wandering around queasy and exhausted - isn't this fun?!

OP posts:

Your gonna be overdue JARM to make way for me Mwah mwah mwaaaaaaahhhh

Well I have started bleeding this morning. Called hospital who seem to think it could be when I would normally have a period, especially with me feeling a bit crap the last few days.
They've told me to rest so dh has had to come home from work and take dd to preschool and will be bringing her back.
Nightmare.

I didnt go for my scan in the end yesterday either but am going on friday at 2:45pm.

becklespeckledfrog · 16/05/2007 10:06

Morning all, how is everyone? I am feeling shite but in a non pg way. My sickness is lots better - just feel really hungry now. Also boobs have not exactly deflated but are not like the rocks they have been IYSWIM. I am 7+6 and am terrified in case something has gone wrong. Not very cheerful today am I?
Peanutbutter - my DS1 had German Measles about 6 months after his MMR, the docs told me it was a "non-infectious strain" of it! Anyway, if you have had your Rubella injection then you should be immune to it, tell your MW anyway but you should be fine. Hope your LO okay too.
Nbg, hope your bleeding stops soon, I always bleed in pg and have had 2 healthy pgs so try not to worry too much. Hope you are okay.
Hi to everyone else and welcome to new guys!

Ambi · 16/05/2007 10:31

Cazzah, how rubbish for you. Mine wasn't much better, she said "Are you keeping it?" I was stunned... I'm 26 not 16.

Ambi · 16/05/2007 10:57

Wow the weeks dating are quite varied now, I felt like the (youngest) date-wise when first posted but now midway, (9+6). Hurrah for your scan Awen, that's really good getting a strong beat so early, hope you don't leave us altogether.

MamaMaiasaura · 16/05/2007 11:06

Cazzy - my ds was 2 weeks early.. 2 weeks berfore this ones due date is right around christmas.. So very exciting tho If i didnt feel so icky today - and completely taking it easy I would bounce around cos I am so darn HAPPY that I am pregnant.. YAY .. we are all having babies!!

I cant help but hang around Ambi - I am like a bad smell I am!!

BeachBunni · 16/05/2007 11:38

Oh my. There's loads of us. March/April must have have been a busy time for getting jiggy with it.

Nbg. Hope your ok, although if your mw doesn't seem worried I would take that as a good sign to put your feet up and let the house fall down round you.

Reusing sample pots?? What is the nhs coming to? I remember from having urinary infections you can pick the sample pots up in boots. Or even go down to your health center. Ours gives them out at reception.

Had a bit of an argument with my dp yesterday as well. He's trying to get off next Friday for my scan and can only take off a couple of hours but I wanted him to take off the whole day. Is that unreasonable? I know it's not his fault, but basically if there's something wrong I will want him with me and not buggering off and if it's good I wanted to go out for a celebratory lunch. It is our first after all.

MamaMaiasaura · 16/05/2007 11:45

beach - dp took whole day off as parking and waiting times take ages.

March and April were very very sunny

BeachBunni · 16/05/2007 11:53

Mine was an extremely hungover birthday s**g At least it's an easy date to remember.

That's what I told him awen. It takes about half an hour to get parked at our hospital, if you're lucky enough to get a space. I don't want the day ruined by him moaning about how long everything's taking and panicking about getting back to work.

Beanstermummy · 16/05/2007 12:15

morning campers.

Beachbunni - sounds harsh but if my DH was anything to go by with our first, nothing really was real until that first scan then he went all goey and oh my god, there's a baby in there type. Have a chat and let him know how you are feeling - whatever the outcome (no doubt will be good) it's a pretty emotional time and he probably doen't apprecaite at the mo' exactly how it'll hit him - I bet he won't want to go back to work then either!!

And I'm all V as I've not even got a date for my dating scan yet. Not that I really need to check the dates - we were skiing the week before in a studio with DD and my younger sister so not much opportunity for baby dancing - too knackered the day we got back but went for it the next three days - not had a wake up sh*g for years!! DH had decided at this point he wanted another baby!!

Has anyone heard from Pecka - worried for her as she's not been on since her scan on Monday - {{{{{hugs}}}}}} if you're reading this

BeachBunni · 16/05/2007 12:36

I think he said this morning he was going to try and get cover himself. I'm more pissed off at his area manager's attitude than him.

I know dp had his friend round last week with his gf's 12wk scan. He was all excited and it was so cute.

Does anyone know when you're giving family history's are cousins counted or not because they're not immediate? One of my cousins was born with a hole in the heart and my other one had a baby die inside her at 8 months and they don't know why.(terrible, it gives me shivers just thinking about it)

Anyway, must go. The house isn't going to clean itself..

skidaddle · 16/05/2007 12:40

Hello all - just back from Dublin, visiting the inlaws - my God I have missed a lot. Don't even know where to start...

Pecka - hope all is OK with you, big hugs

Beachbunni - if he can't take the whole day off surely it wouldn't be the end of the world if he arrived back a bit later than promised following a celebratory lunch? Or are they very strict at his work?

Also have hair coming out by the clump and feel like sh*te but scan is on Friday so i am happy all the same

Dr.dundee - NO corrections?? Well done you, I have barely heard of such a thing. Know what you mean about not using the Dr. though, don't think i will if I ever get the chance - sounds a bit too proud of yourself or something

Welcome all newbies - cazzaH your doctor sounds awful, you poor thing. Hope your mw is a bit better, at least you have mnet for a bit of support and comfort

Off to pick up dd after a morning of no work and lots of mumsnet have a nice day everybody

Ambi · 16/05/2007 13:00

Hi guys, all those without a pot to piss in - I've just picked one up from the local NHS drop in centre. Wish I'd asked for more now so don't have to recyle, but mustn't be ungrateful, could be worse and not have one at all!!

Curlygirly · 16/05/2007 13:17

Anyone else getting bad indigestion yet or is it just me?

JARM · 16/05/2007 13:25

Afternoon all!

GUess what.....

Had my 20 WEEK scan date through the post this morning! 9th July!!!! That seems so close!

Hope you are all ok, pecka, where are you hun, are you ok?

NBG, hope you are doing as you are told and resting xxx

Beanstermummy · 16/05/2007 13:42

Soooooooo not fair - don't even have a date for my first scan yet and I was top of the list date order wise prior to JARM's dating scan

And I just know when the date does come through I'll be away or something!

Just had very jolly lunch - Spinach and Asparagus risotto - yummy - but now am craving prawn cocktail crisps?????????

Nbg · 16/05/2007 13:48

Bleeding is wearing off a bit now and is a bit watery?????? But I have period type cramps, like lower dull back ache.
Hopefully that is it and its easing off now.

Have the scan on friday so thats a relief I guess. Would have been awful if I had gone yesterday.

Wow at the scan date JARM! They dont mess about there do they!

Ambi, lol at your pot to piss in

Beachbunni, I'd let him go back to work and save the lunch for your 20 week scan especially if your finding out the sex!

Curlygirly · 16/05/2007 13:55

Beanster- Have you phoned anyone to find out where your scan appointment has gone. I got mine yesterday and I'm due about 3 wks after you.

dundeemarmalade · 16/05/2007 14:18

hello everyone.
just wondering if anybody else is starting to feel worryingly better. i reckon i'm still less than 10 weeks so i wouldn't expect to stop feeling sick yet, but today woke up feeling only marginally revolting instead of the normal 'oh god let me die now'. seems a bit odd to be worried about feeling better but you know what it's like... bosoms still size of jupiter, still pretty exhausted, still want to eat wierd stuff, no spotting or anything. dunno if i'm just panicking cos we've got our dating scan next tuesday. whaddya reckon, ladies?

Beanstermummy · 16/05/2007 14:23

Curlygirly - Only saw the MW on monday but up here in the wilds of Scotland (Well Stirling area anyway) it seems you don't see the MW until week 12, scan at 12-14 then one at 22. It's all just a it relaxed IYKWIM. We are getting a Nuchal Scan done next week privately so at least then we'll (hopefully) see the little button baby then

Very frustrating though as it seems ages away and just want the reassurance that everything is ok - not to mention checking there is only one of them in there!!!!!

thelady · 16/05/2007 15:12

Down here in the far south of Scotland I had to contact the health centre to make my own booking appointment - don't think I would have got one otherwise! Now I wait for a date for the official 12 - 14 week scan, and then see the mw again around 23 weeks.

Perhaps you need to contact your local GP surgery/health centre and check the way they do things...?

Beanstermummy · 16/05/2007 15:26

Thelady - long time no hear - how ya doin??

Up here in Glasgow we are officially Spanish for the day coz of the footy although the lack of sunshine has put a bit of a dampner on that

I'm hoping the scan date will be next week or week after - I'm away for along weekend so you know exactly when my appt will be already really don't we!! I'm just so impatient that I want to see button NOW and also be in the position where at least I can tell a few more folks - especially work as it's all getting a bit awkward - keep being very vague as to availability for contracts next year etc etc which isn't going down very well with the powers that be

mad4girls · 16/05/2007 16:51

hi ladies (sorry long)
sorry not been around been so ill the last coupleof days. started monday evening with an unquechable thirst, which i woke up with the next day as well as a blinding headache hich didnt go all day was sick a few times in morning and lay ont he sofa all lathargic and kept drinking juice and water then went to bed early but kept throwing up all night, finally got to sleep at 2.

was then woken at 4 by dp to tell me we had a mouse in our bedroom i swore at him and told him he shouldnt have woke me up, what can we do about it at this our so i went fdown to sofa and left him chasing it round the room all night, i got about 2 hours then dd2 got up (thats her usual time) and the sickness started again all morning, took kids to school came home found dp on sofa so i went in kids bed for a couple of hours then we got up at 12 to clear the room and couldnt find the damn thing.

then check my hpone at half 2 to find school rang at 1 dd2 has fallen and cut her head they have taken her to a and e, so fetched dd1 from school and dropped at grandmas and then fetched dd2 she is fine although a very large bruise on her forhead and all grazed.have just them at grandmas having some tea then fetching them home to bed. but we still havent caught the bloody mouse and everything has been taken out our bedroom and and is all over the house so looks like a bomb went off.

havent felt so ill since i was pregnant with dd2 and was hospatilised then for 2 weeks because of dehydration, and ive got all this going on, dont even have the energy to cry about it,

sorry for going on just had o get that off my chest.

dundeemarmalade · 16/05/2007 16:57

oh, mad4girls, you poor thing. i'm making you a virtual cup of tea right now... can you get dp to go out and buy one of those non-splatting mouse-traps so at least you get a good nights' sleep?

becklespeckledfrog · 16/05/2007 17:26

You poor thing Mad4Girls, sounds like you having a real rough time. You can also get plug in things which eminate a sound or vibe or something which mice don't like. Would save having to catch it!
Dundee - I am 7+6 and panicking as a fair few of my symptoms seems to have calmed down! Someone told me on another thread though that hormones fluctuate a lot and so symptoms are not always constant. Try not to worry (and I will try not to either) xxx

thelady · 16/05/2007 17:43

mad4girls: you poor thing!

Beanstermummy: thanks for asking. In a word - frazzled. DH is being wonderful, but if I wasn't self-employed I'd probably have been signed off with exhaustion/stress . Once this weekend is over I'll hopefully be feeling a lot better - I've got people coming from the USA and France for a fibrecrafts retreat at the hotel, but 'cos nobody local can be arsed to pay £55 for a full day's tuition, supplies and food, it's going to be a bit flat (5 people instead of the 15 we'd planned for). Now my after-dinner speaker has pulled out

Really, I've been very lucky with the pg - just queasy most of the time and that one awful bit of bleeding - and I hate feeling like a moaning minnie. Must buck up and get on with the prep as I'm teaching one of the two all-day workshops and don't have my notes complete yet

Anyone heard from Pecka?
