I hope this works! Here is a new thread as the old one was getting v long.
I hope everyone is doing ok. If I'm anything to go by you will be wandering around queasy and exhausted - isn't this fun?!

thanx guys

the lady-im glad i dont have all your responsabilities, sounds like hard work
dundee- just had that cup of tea u sent me and one of my grandmas rock cakes and feel a little beter,

the traps have been set up all day havent been in to check yet will send dp in when he gets back from supemarket.

as for scans and photos, when i had 1st dd u only got 1 scan at 18-20wks and that was it and the photos were £6 each, since then they are now building a super hospital, and u get 2 scans at 12 and 20 wks but i had early scan at 9 wk, so they said i wont get a 12 wk scan now have to wait til mid july for my 20 wk scan but the photos only cost £4 now and she gave us one for free, think coz i started blubbin about seeing HB.

on the other hand i moved to dundee when pregnant with dd1 and they had 3 scans at 14wks 20 wks and 27 wks and their photos were only 50p each we bought hundreds.

so guess just depends on where u live

thelady · 16/05/2007 19:15

I have an after-dinner speaker. Whoopee!

Sorry !

insywinsyspider · 16/05/2007 19:15

booking appointment on Sat - very excited

Cazzybabes - I want a home birth too! will have to compare notes when time gets near... also just got us a cleaner - am nackered and would rather spend time playing with ds than hoovering, its expensive but he's worth it

Mad4girls - big hugs as I'm finding it exhausting with 1 ds and no pg symptoms apart from tiredness (P.S lol as I read mouse as moose the first time round and was trying to work out (a) where in the world you live and (b) why would were very calm about it and your dh just chased it round all night! god my brain has turned into mush!)

anyone out there just returned to work pg after maternity leave??? really worried about telling line manager, meeting with HR in confidence tomorrow to get a heads up on pay situation, fingers crossed its all ok

insywinsyspider · 16/05/2007 19:19

sorry to everyone else but I couldn't read back all those messages so welcome to anyone new and hope everyone else is well

photos for us were £3 each but were fab (and the hosp gave us a brilliant birth in return for money spent on photos and car parking so can't complain!) saw SIL 12 week photo other week and it was a blob like that episode of friends where she keeps losing baby in picture, really disappointing how they can be so different depending on person doing it

thelady - after dinner speaker for what?

insywinsyspider · 16/05/2007 19:21

thelady - just read your post, sorry v lazy of me not to read it first!

Lizzer · 16/05/2007 21:45

Hi dundee, I'm also feeling a bit better (so so sorry to those who aren't) and I'm only 10 weeks, was more like 13 with dd. Not that I'm complaining...I am getting weird period pains and hope that's normal?
We're having a v tough time of it, dp's mum rushed to hospital and having to undergo 4 hour operation tomorrow. It is truly awful and I feel useless but finger's crossed everything will go ok..I have first appt with midwife at home tomorrow just before operation starts, hope I can stay focussed enough.
Bye for now xx

Loucee · 16/05/2007 22:19

Incy - I returned from maternity leave in March so this is my 3rd month back. I read the HR pack from my work and I am entitled to all their maternity pay regardless of length of service but if I have been back from maternity leave by the 15th wk prior to 25wk before EDD then I'm entitled to the governments SMP as well.

Dundee - I'm 9+2 and have been feeling a lot less nauseous for the past wk or so. Like you I am a bit concerned but trying to remain positive and feel lucky!

Beanster - it was a great atmosphere in Glasgow today wasn't there? All the Spanish fans were adding good cheer and colour to the grey City today.

Hello to everyone else, really tired tonight but have read all your posts and love hearing how everyone is getting on. Sorry Mad4girls that you are having such a hard time. DD has teeth cutting through (apparently with cysts on top) and an ear infection and running a temp so not much sleep in our house either.

PeckaRolloverAgain · 17/05/2007 09:30

Hi everyone

Thanks for thinking of me

Since Monday night I have been with my lady who had a very long labour and gave birth to a gorgeous little girl yesterday morning!

The bleeding had worn off apart from a few spots BUT last night, for the first time in 5 weeks I had a shag and woke up this morning with quite a lot of blood in my pj bottoms

IM SO SICK OF THIS

Lizzer · 17/05/2007 09:40

OK sat here waiting for midwife....and waiting....and check calendar and realise it's tomorrow! DUH!

I'm relieved actually cos waiting for new about mil and can't concentrate anyway...

Sorry forgot to say welcome to mimi and cazzaH before

cazzybabs · 17/05/2007 09:42

Had my booking in appoitment yesterday - very dull! Took weight () and blood pressure and gave me my notes to fill in. she is coming round to my house on Saturday to go over them = oh god i'd better clean else she may not allow a homebirth on hygene grounds. Have to go for a blood tests on Monday becasue of the slapped cheek thing at school. Mind you I got back to school and everyone said where have you been, what was the doctors for - noisy people! I made some excuse up about feelign sick and tired (how true!!!)

Was actually sick for the 1st time today...not good it made me late for school and my classroom assistant is off AND I am still feelign sick...poor childen.

Pecka - I don't have energy for any bedroom actions at the mo. Poor Dh is very desperate! I feel so sick in the evenings and tired!!! Sorry about the bleeding - it must be so worrying.

BeachBunni · 17/05/2007 09:43

Oh Pecka good to hear from you again.

I've read loads of articles that say bleeding after sex during preg is very common. I think it's something to do with the cervix softening.

Lizzer · 17/05/2007 09:43

Hi Paeck, glad to see you back. Wow it must have been amazing to be with 'your lady'.

Do you think that this bleeding is just going to carry on throughout, I mean it can't be coming from the baby can it? Not that its much reassurance but perhaps you'll get used to it in time when you get past 12 weeks and everything is going good... (sorry, is that helpful? I don't want to sound harsh)

Lizzer · 17/05/2007 09:44

Paeck? Pecka obviously....

Beanstermummy · 17/05/2007 09:49

morning morning peoples

Loucee - didn't realise (or more likely have forgotten!) that you were in Glasgow too - we will definitely have to try and arrange a ladies who lunch one day when all this stress of 1st trimester is over and we're in the blooming stages

Also - did you mean 25 wks prior to 15th week before EDD - think that is the case although it probably works out exaclty the same - Shouldn't be a problem really though should it with your dates?

Blimey Thelady - hectic or what!!!! At least I get to pretend to work playing on the computer etc all day with the odd meeting or ten thrown in. Make sure you do have a bit of chill out time though

I friend has just reminded me that 2 yrs ago the Liverpool v AC Milan Champions League final was on the day I was trying to get Beasnter out and he reckons it's good luck for Tuesday this year that it's her 2nd Birthday too - got me wondering what special events might happen on the day Button Bump arrives???

Hope everyone has a jolly day

PeckaRolloverAgain · 17/05/2007 09:52

Lizzer, thats what I am thinking? Surely if it was coming from baby by now I would have properly miscarried?

There is something comforting about bleeding straight after sex? Makes me think it is maybe more cervix related or something like that?

More worrying when it comes from nowhere?

I still havent booked in with my midwife! Do you think I should? I keep putting it off because of the bleeding

PeckaRolloverAgain · 17/05/2007 09:57

Is anyone else got a big fat tummy? Tehre is nothign remotely bump llike about it, I know the baby is the size of a pea. Think it must be all the crap Im eating but I feel like I have gone massive

dundeemarmalade · 17/05/2007 10:04

Morning all.
Good to hear from you pecka. i've had a wee bit of post-shag spotting, not full on blood but more spotting iykwim. get the most horrible post-coital cramps too, which puts me off the whole thing. if you can't enjoy yourself, why bother... too lazy to scroll through the bezillion posts to find out - when you had yr scan did they identify any areas of haematoma or cysts or anything? It must be hard on you emotionally to help somebody give birth when you are going through such uncertainty. Are you having another scan anytime soon?

Beanstermummy · 17/05/2007 10:04

Hi Pecka - crossed over messages so didn't know you were back with us.

I'd definately see the MW - they are as much for your wellbeing as your growing bump - but like you say - at least this bleeding was after sex not just random. Fair play to you too for having the energy, enthusiasm and generally being up for sex - I'm with cazzybabs though - sleep, sleep, sleep.

Cazzy you sound like you're having a rough time - have you told anyone at work? Harsh as it sounds, you and your bump must take priority over the other kids at the moment. And yes - how dull is the booking with the MW - I don't evn know when I'll next see her (well the Gold team - won't have a single MW but a team - not sure which way round I prefer it really!!)

BeachBunni · 17/05/2007 10:10

Oh yes Pecka - fat belly. Not sure if something to do with litte tadpole or something to do with all the pizza, ice-cream, crisps. I's better be eating for at least three or I'm screwed Oops, that comment could come back to haunt me.

mimicakey · 17/05/2007 10:54

Morning everyone, sounds like there's a lot of stress out there today I'm shimmying out some love to you all.

Pecka, I had a good few days of bleeding the weekend after I must have conceived, so assumed it hadn't happened that month. Mentioned it to the GP when I went to say I was pg but she didn't seem at all concerned. Still worries me a bit but I think it must mean lo is a real toughie for hanging in there. Yours must be like Rocky or She-ra or something.

becklespeckledfrog · 17/05/2007 11:05

Hi Pecka! Grr about more bleeding but good that it was after sex. I had some very heavy bleeds after sex with DS1, aparently its quite common cos your cervix is soft and full of blood so if it is knocked or irritated you will bleed. We are on sex ban for that reason, EPU said to wait til next scan or 2 weeks thrush and bleeding free. DH is climbing the walls!!! Also getting fat here, belts all a notch looser, work trousers don't do up... only 8 weeks! Would definitely book in with you MW soon though, they are the ones who book your 10-12 week scan here.
Hope everyone else okay!

PeckaRolloverAgain · 17/05/2007 11:09

Ok.........I have been bold enough to book my midwife appointment. Next Thursday at 11am. Now just need to get to that.

And if I get there will just have about 2 weeks to wait for scan.

We were on a sex ban too but it was all getting a bit much so I thought oh f*ck it!! Think I will reimpose the ban now though!

flipflopper · 17/05/2007 12:50

Hi everyone,
I have been reading this thread for a while, and was holding off joining in, but what the hell!
This will be my 3rd, I already have a DD(6) and a DS(2).
I am not exactly sure of my dates as I had only just stopped taking the pill and then had a withdrawl bleed on 15th-ish March. When I went to see my doc, she didnt seem to think I would get an early scan (in our area we only get one scan at 20wks). I really thought I would get one so I know exactly when I am due.....
I have been feeling surprisingly well, just a bit queasy in the mornings, but I have been getting tired, and my belly is growing, dont think I can keep it a secret for much longer, I have only told one friend so far!

Look forward to chatting to you all.

becklespeckledfrog · 17/05/2007 13:19

Hi Flipflopper and welcome! I have to say I am a bit that so many places don't seem to offer a scan before 20 weeks! I kind of take it for granted that we get one here.
Pecka - Well done for getting your MW booked, my gut feeling about you is that you will be fine, some people just don't have an easy time of it. IKWYM about sex ban being a bit much! It has been 4 weeks now and I have to say it makes me a bit antsy! Started having some very crude dreams too . Thrush treatment finishes tomorrow so only 2 weeks more wait after that (if there is no more bleeding)...

skidaddle · 17/05/2007 13:50

Beckle i'm having lots of rude dreams too, none of which have involved dp! . Fortunatley I'm not on a sex ban though

Hi flipflopper

pecka and beachbunni - fat belly here too but I don;t think it's just getting fat as I'm not fatter anywhere else. Thank God scan is tomorrow so I can stop trying to hold my tummy in and just tell the truth - i look about four months pg I would say and can;t do up any of my trousers...
