unicornchaser my midwife didn't use a doppler until 16 weeks so I think it's unlikely the doctor would do that. Was he talking about your heart rate maybe?

I am hungry. I need an extra meal before bed :) I'm 10 weeks and have gained 5lbs. About the same as I did with DD1, I gained 4st overall but lot all but 7lbs of that in the first few weeks after the birth so while I will try and avoid gaining quite so much this time I'm not too worried about losing it either.
I am HUGE though, I've been in maternity clothes for a month and now am very limited in what I can wear without my bump being obvious. I know it's bloating but that doesn't mean I can hide it any easier!

Unicornchaser · 05/03/2018 17:06

Oooo I like that theory @Milknosugar1! May steal borrow it!

Really @ladydolly? I was pinning so much on that app! I've very few symptoms it's making me nervous 😕 I realise I will soon wish for the days I have no symptoms back though!
Hope the bloating reduces and you feel more comfortable again soon!

ladydolly · 05/03/2018 17:22

Yes I'm afraid so unicornchaser. I know its hard but try to stay calm. The odds are in your favour for everything to be absolutely fine. Would you go for a private early scan?

I have looked into an early scan but given the cost of it and that the best appointment I could get would be the week before my anti-natal I figured there was no point. However, if there is no scan or trace or anything then I may rethink.

But as Milk said, there is still no certainty that it would reassure as things can go wrong whenever.

I have finally stopped Poas (after about 30) so trying to myself everything is ok and I have no reason to believe otherwise. My mum and sister have both had miscarriages at a similar age to me, but both also had 3 very healthy babies so I guess I just need to stop freaking out!

Unicornchaser · 05/03/2018 17:49

Also, @Milknosugar1 congratulations on conceiving then with your situation! I would still say go to the app though as it might be reassuring or give you information that could be used in any future TTC attempt x

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 05/03/2018 18:02

@Unicornchaser I had my booking appt last week and they just ask a lot of questions and take urine and blood samples to send off. There is no scan.

There are only 2 routine scans on the NHS at 12 and 20 weeks. Unless you have problems or are high risk, you would have to pay to go private.

Mine is Thursday. Excited/nervous about this!

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 05/03/2018 18:05

Pay to go private for any additional scans, I mean. The 12 and 20 week everyone gets.

SLR1906 · 05/03/2018 18:22

@Milknosugar1 second your comment about enjoying food!! Im usually a proper foodie but cannot even look at food since 6 weeks!! (Im now 9 and still the sameSad)

Anyway i hope everyone is feeling okay, i went to work today and even braved sainsburys on my way home!! I am feeling secretly proud of how i didnt urge in the middle of a public supermarket Grin

MamaL86 · 05/03/2018 18:29

Sorry to hear so many of you are feeling rough.

I keep bemoaning my lack of symptoms but should be grateful really. Having said that, I'm tight there with those of you who are hungry all the time. A little concerned I've already put on a kilo (have also already gone up a cup sizeShock!)

tappitytaptap · 05/03/2018 19:42

I've just had my early scan, heard the heartbeat and all looks good, 8+2 against my estimate of 8+1. Its making the nausea very slightly easier to cope with!

Hi Ladies, can I join please? I'm 6w4d and due around Oct 25 due to my calculations. Its mine and DP's 1st, conceived after 18 months of trying, a PCOS diagnosis and three months of clomid.
Because we were being monitored by the fertility clinic we have an early scan next week, which I am both exited and nervous about, but my local midwife can't schedule an appointment until I'll be 10weeks, so I'm assuming there will be a whirlwind if appointments to get everything in before the 12 week mark.
Current I am really struggling with exhaustion and rather than nausea just a loss of appetite that suddenly morphs into desperate hunger that can only be calmed by bland carbs..does anyone have any tips with managing the tiredness whilst also working and trying to keep at least a little bit active?

lucindaanna · 06/03/2018 04:06

@MermaidTail7 congratulations :) we also tried for 1 year, on and off clomid, and had an ectopic last year, which almost killed me! Glad we're all on our way now though and fingers crossed everything goes smoothly!

lucindaanna · 06/03/2018 04:06

Ceebs85 · 06/03/2018 05:29

@mermaidtail7 congratulations. It should just be your booking appt and 12 week scan. No whirlwind.

Inbterms of tiredness I'm at the same stage (due 24th oct) except I've got a 6month old to look after. Nothing helps the tiredness. Your body is using tonnes of energy growing a person. My only advice is sleep sleep sleep!

MermaidTail7 · 06/03/2018 07:07

Thank you ladies... lucindaanna, so sorry to hear about your struggles last year, I'm pleased it had all worked out for you now though..
Ceebs85 gosh, I'm not sure I could cope with this tiredness and a 6 month old too.... You're a hero!! I was only actually awake and out of bed for seven hours on Sunday, and I still felt ready to drop by 2pm on Monday afternoon!

pumpkinpieinmyeye · 06/03/2018 07:11

Hi ladies, I'm excited to be 8+1 after a miscarriage early December 2017. EDD 15th Oct.
Are there any Hampshire ladies on here who can advise when you receive the 12 week scan appointment? TIA x

midnight1983 · 06/03/2018 08:40

Hi all. Jumping back in after a couple weeks off mn due to feeling so crap with nausea. No vomiting just near constant nausea and if I'm not nauseous I'm eating ALL THE CARBS. 😐 Congrats to all new joiners 🎉🎉

Unicornchaser · 06/03/2018 11:54

Knew I would regret my concern over no symptoms! Have hit 6 weeks today and been feeling queasy all morning!

MermaidTail7 · 06/03/2018 13:42

Same thing happened to me unicornchaser... Absolutely no nausea at all until I hit week six!

monkerina · 06/03/2018 16:28

Hello everyone, welcome to new joiners! Hope everyone's doing well after various ops, early scans etc.

Pumpkinpie, I'm just over the border in Berkshire although my hospital serves Berks, Hants and Surrey- they normally trigger the scan appointment when you have your booking in appointment, along with any others you might need.

Loads of activity the last 24 hours here.
Welcome to the newbies. Should we do a list of names and edds? I see them on other threads they look fun.

I just saw my dinner for the 2nd time. That was not fun but the sickness does seem to be easing a bit. Hopefully. I had 1 of my 5 a day today for the first time in a while I have no interest in fruit or veg at the moment. More fizzy drinks and carbs. Confused hopefully I'll be able to eat more healthily soon and get back to my exercising I'd like to keep the weight gain under control because I was heavier than I wanted to be getting pregnant.
Has anyone bought anything for baby yet?!
