@betsy2018 I'm looking forward to how she works out my estimated due date as I haven't had a period since my coil was removed (can't believe how quickly it happened). From excessively testing with clear blue I have a goodish ideas that I am 8 weeks today, tomorrow or Friday but I would like to know how they figure out the date (other than with a scan). Good luck with yours appointment on Friday, even if you think of questions afterwards you can always phone, ask at the scan. Or at your next appointment :)

midgetjen · 28/02/2018 20:19

Have my early scan tomorrow and feeling really nervous. 2 previous mc have left me really anxious. So much so i had a nightmare about it last night!
Hoping that if all is ok and we get to see a heartbeat I will be able to relax a bit. Should be 7+3 so crossing everything.

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 28/02/2018 20:24

@midgetjen good luck. Fingers crossed for you. Mine is a week tomorrow and I'll be 7+2. Let us know how you get on.

Peanut91 · 28/02/2018 21:54

Congratulations all.

I was very excited and shocked to find out I am expecting my first on 1st October. It all happened very quickly and it has been a nervous few weeks as I had an accident on 21st January which resulted in 3 broken ribs (which were then plated) and a lacerated liver.

I was blue lighted to a major trauma hospital where I spent 9 days. They did a test when I went in but it came up negative so I am sure you can imagine my surprise when I retested a few weeks later and got a very strong positive!

I have an early scan on saturday to check all is ok and then I am being referred to a consultant. My DH and I are a little worried about the effect of scans and drugs I have had so hoping for some reassurance.

betsy2018 · 28/02/2018 21:54

Good luck @midgetjen let us know how it goes xx

Anban · 28/02/2018 22:11

@betsy2018 when I had my mc I had an early scan and the nhs didn't want to know anything about it. It doesn't 'count' and so will still scan you at 12 weeks counted from lmp regardless. You could tell them, show them scan pics or have the private scannier come and personally tell them their result until they are blue in the face but the nhs would still disregard it Grin

Morning all! Hope everyone doing ok. @peanut91 what a rollercoaster month, hope you are doing ok after what sounds like an awful accident!

Is anyone else just... feeling normal. I'm feeling increasingly anxious that I'm not really pregnant or something had gone wrong. I'm 5+6 and don't really have any symptoms to write home about. There are little things but I think I could be imagining them because I want them to be there, e.g. boobs hurt when I poke them, but I'm poking them so... Grin. Torn between being tempted by an early scan sooner for reassurance and wanting to wait a couple more weeks to increase what we can see and the chance of things being ok from then, if that makes sense.

Today is a cosy day working from home with the dog on my feet though for sure!

SLR1906 · 01/03/2018 08:47

Does anyone else think they are getting better and then comes the waves of nausea and sick again!? Im on such a wild rollercoaster i just want to get off!!

Peanut91 · 01/03/2018 09:43

@SLR1906 - yes my bouts of nausea definitely come in waves some days I feel almost functional and other days my stomach feels so unsettled. Luckily I havent been sick (not fun with broken ribs!).

The only saving grace for me is that no one is suspicious (especially at work) as I am just putting it all down to recovery from the accident

midgetjen · 01/03/2018 10:41

@peanut, wow what a start to pregnancy! Hope the rest of it is much less eventful for you!

Early scan went well. Measuring right for my dates and good heartbeat so feeling really reassured. And also lucky that I'm not feeling as sick this time as I did with DS!

betsy2018 · 01/03/2018 11:51

@EffRam I had an early scan for that reason, I just felt totally normal.

Did help with the worrying but could have made it a lot worse, turns out I was showing a week earlier than I had predicted, making me only 6+1. There was a heart beat present but could very well have been a different story and caused another week of worrying. If you can I would wait till at least 8 weeks, I know, easier said than done and I should really practice what i preach

EffRam · 01/03/2018 12:20

@betsy2018 yes that's exactly what I would worry about! I just confessed my fears to my husband who has appropriately told me to just relax but that we will go for a scan in a week if I'm still feeling this anxious about it.

I think I just need to keep busy and not think about it for a while!! Thanks for the reply x

ATP1000 · 01/03/2018 12:57

I’m 6+1 and hit by nausea today and yesterday. I had nothing before that but the last two days have been bad. Need to eat toast or a biscuit straight away when I wake up. I haven’t been sick yet, I’m dreading that bit as I’m in a small office, going to be very hard to hide it. I’m wearing the travel sickness bands under my jumper sleeves which is helping and grazing lots. I think it’s common for morning sickness to come and go day by day and it doesn’t mean anything negative on its own.

justtowarm · 01/03/2018 14:47

Oh the waves of nausea are horrible, I also have days where I feel Okish and days where I can barely function. It's not fun with a hyper 2 year old, he can sense when I'm not 100% and likes to climb on me. With the nausea I feel weak and tired at the same time. If I try and close my eyes he literally climbs on me or shakes me saying wakey up mummy not bedtime 🙈.

I'm on leave this week, looking forward to work next week so I can have a quiet 5 mins and a snooze when no one is looking 😂

SLR1906 · 01/03/2018 17:59

Im just finding it super hard to maintain my normal work life in a small office. I have to drag myself up and sit in work hating it all day, i just want to be at home when im poorly. Ive been asleep all day today because its the only time i dont feel sick. Bring on 2nd trimester im sick of this!! Excuse the pun lol

tappitytaptap · 01/03/2018 19:41

@justtowarm ditto with my almost 2 year old, he's in a very clingy to mummy phase and ended up in our bed last night. I woke up this morning when he climbed on my head saying 'cuddle mummy' 😂. I was glad of a work from home day today as its one less day to hide the nausea. It seems to have started earlier and be more intense than with DS. Does anyone else feel like they have a bizarre taste in their mouth all the time?! Been eating sweets to combat it.

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 01/03/2018 19:44

Glad to hear that @midgetjen!

Did you know when you ovulated @betsy2018 or were you going by lmp for your early scan?

I have one booked for 7+2 but was tracking ovulation so should be pretty accurate with timings. Fingers crossed!

betsy2018 · 01/03/2018 20:31

No @BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy I wasn't tracking ovulation so was just going off lmp. I have had longer cycles in the last few months before getting pregnant so there dates do make sense

Think I'll be glad when have the standard scan and hopefully can then relax a bit.

This group is keeping me sane, husband is more anxious than I am which doesn't help 😂

betsy2018 · 01/03/2018 20:33

@Milknosugar1 I saw a heavily pregnant lady the other day and had a sudden though of 'shittt that's going to be me in September' 😂 was so caught up in ttc haven't even thought of what happens next

lucindaanna · 01/03/2018 20:39

@EffRam I also feel pretty normal, although have mild cramping on and off, sore boobs (but not that sore) and have only been sick when brushing my teeth... these first few weeks seem to be rather long and I really want to get past the first trimester and actually look pregnant and not keep it a secret! I had an early scan to rule out ectopic (successful) and now waiting for my heartbeat scan in 10 days.

lucindaanna · 01/03/2018 20:41

Are others constipated?! I eat a lot of fruit and veg but since my bfp I can barely manage to poo! Once a day if I'm lucky, it's quite uncomfortable

justtowarm · 01/03/2018 20:44

@tappitytaptap no weird taste in my mouth, but moving makes my nausea worst. Also everything smells really bad I am combating that with mints so it doesn't make me wanna puke. I remember last time at about this time my partner smelt really bad to me (poor bloke has good hygiene, so it wasn't that) I wouldn't let him come anywhere near me 🙈
