Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hi @kirinm I am likely to be induced early because of borderline diabetes that no doubt will be full on by then, plus blood pressure. I was induced at 38 weeks for my 2 previous babies. Not sure if there is any age-related recommendation. I am wondering what delights I have in store if I make it to my booking appointment as I have all the issues I had before plus am 4 years older. Fingers crossed it’s not daily clexane injections.

Thank you @kirinm it is a horrid time isn't it?

Yes @cuppasarah can we please hit fast forward!!

Paranormalbouquet · 15/01/2018 12:27

It’s a really tough time isn’t it. Another 10 days until my preterm birth clinic appt and scan. Forcing myself to hold out as I’ll be over 8 weeks then so a scan will be more helpful at that point. Fingers crossed that my cervix has repaired itself, there’s a heartbeat (and only one heartbeat!) and I come out with a plan! Although I know the first wish is essentially impossible so let’s just hope for the later ones!

In other news I acquired some “treggings” in m+s which are essentially thick leggings which can pass for trousers. Bought them one size up and have a swing jumper on- they seem to be hiding the bloat and are super comfortable!

Pixiedust25 · 15/01/2018 13:08

Hello ladies! Hopping over here, got our BFP on 4th Jan and just caught up on this thread and he full one. I am around 6 weeks at the moment and if all goes well this will be our first baby.
I have had a variety of symptoms none severe at the moment apart from the bloating! I already look really pregnant!!
We have a 15 min pre booking appt with a midwife where I am which will be on Thursday. Not really sure what this will consist of, actual booking appt isn't until 8th feb when I will be nearly 10 weeks! Feels so hard waiting and not really knowing what's going on!

Namechangedtoscream · 15/01/2018 13:23

Congratulations newbies and to those of you with positive scans!

Today has been a horrifying exercise in how not to be on public transport. After an hour long drive in heavy traffic to the park and ride I ended up in the only remaining seat - above the rear wheel behind someone who clearly forgot what soap was in the mid 60s with a driver who had no concept of smooth braking.

Suffice to say I was very very sick as soon as I stepped off the bus.

Nausea has been horrific ever since but do far I've survived at work without throwing up!

Flamingo84 · 15/01/2018 13:25

Feeling nauseous, exhausted and ick. Seasickness wrist bands worked yesterday but not today unfortunately.
DH suggested I write something about my symptoms in the baby book he got me. I love him dearly but I asked if I punched him in the junk every day for a week whether he’d feel like writing about it!
I think the mood swings have started!

Fia256 · 15/01/2018 13:45

I shamelessly took the day off work today. I just feel so exhausted and quite literally never get a break/rest as I work school hours mon-fri then weekends are spent ferrying the kids to their hobbies, so my only break is when I'm in bed at night but even then I can't get a full nights sleep! Have to say though I definitely needed it! I've slept a good 3 hours today on the sofa and feel so much better for it!

rabbitsdontlayeggs · 15/01/2018 13:46

Any other second (or third/fourth etc) timers finding your tummy is bigger than first time around? I was in maternity jeans at about 13/14 weeks with DD and although I definitely do not have a real bump yet (6 weeks today) I do feel like I'm bigger this time around.

Probably because I still have a chubby mum tum from DD Grin

twiggy123 · 15/01/2018 13:48

Great news Secondsop 😊.
Cuppa I've got hardly any symptoms here at 7 weeks so now 50:50 on how viable this preg is. I would normally feel awful by now. I've booked a private scan for this Sat.
I feel sorry for everyone having to go on trains or other transport feeling sick. The travel must make the nausea horrendous.

rabbitsdontlayeggs · 15/01/2018 13:50

@twiggy123 Try not to worry. I had no symptoms with DD at all, except I was a bit more tired than usual and am the same this time around. She's now coming up 2 years old Smile

My friend is pregnant with her fourth. Her first three pregnancies were all symptom free. It's only been this one she's had any sickness at all.

Not everyone has symptoms in the early days.

bitzy12 · 15/01/2018 13:51

So last week I was moaning constantly for not having symptoms, felt fine longing for them to come.

Now they are here and omg I feel awful. I usually get hg in pregnancy and worrying this may be the start. I've not been sick yet but nausea is awful and constant. And I can't even wear a bra today due to the pain. All good signs I know and I feel relieved in a way to be feeling like this but I really am feeling sorry for myself and wondering how I'm going to look after my other 2 dcs. I can't even open the fridge without wanting to be sick. It's just going to have to be a quick and easy tea for them tonight.

My friend keeps asking me to go for breakfast morning after school drop off but there's no chance of me being able to manage that. Might be time to tell people soon.....x

twiggy123 · 15/01/2018 13:52

Thanks rabbits 😊. It's true that every pregnancy is different. Maybe I'm just lucky on symptom front this time.

I've always shown earlier with each pregnancy. I've got a bigger tummy now that when pregnant with my first x

Paranormalbouquet · 15/01/2018 13:53

Rabbits see above my post re treggings! After being smug about mild nausea it seriously kicked in on tube. Now I feel awful.

bitzy12 · 15/01/2018 13:53

@rabbitsdontlayeggs me, my tummy is defo more 'rounded' and 'squidgy' than usual. I'm 7 weeks on weds. X

twiggy123 · 15/01/2018 13:55

Bitzy can you take any vitb6 with phenergan (can be bought otc) this is first line treatment for hg. May not work so do see your gp for medication options. Sorry to tell you things you prob already know.

bitzy12 · 15/01/2018 13:58

@twiggy123 thank you for that :-) I am taking vitamin D already. I have some medication that I got from my gp last time which ended up in miscarriage so I never took it....I'm wondering wether I should start taking it now but I haven't even been sick yet. I defo know it's on it's ash though x

twiggy123 · 15/01/2018 14:03

I think it might be worth starting it now. Earlier treatment started with hg the better. I understand the worry though with medication in pregnancy.
Try to keep hydrated as much as poss so you don't feel too dizzy and faint xx

Sals27 · 15/01/2018 14:04

Oh I am having a disaster Monday.

A key member of my team is leaving in a week. Its a crucial time of the year and I can't really afford the time to recruit. But then if I don't recruit I'm taking on her important bits workload and the rest can be picked up later. Which whilst annoying, would be doable....except what if I end up ill with pregnancy symptoms?

My boss would go for the second option and usually I would too. Its just the risk of illness. Plus this busy period will continue to the end of March. I might have to tell him about the pregnancy but I'm on 5+2, its so earlySad

muffyduffster · 15/01/2018 14:07

rabbits my tummy is definitely rounder (at 5+5 Blush) probably a second pregnancy-Christmas combo! Doing the hairband trick on jeans already, and eyeing my new gap maternity chinos (bought in the sale!)

Fia256 · 15/01/2018 14:14

My tummy is very very bloated and looks pregnant already too! It's funny because with both dc1&2 I didn't show till past 20 weeks. I was a size 6 with a completely flat stomach!! Fast forward 5 years, a few losses since and at 6 weeks pregnant now I look huge. I also weighed myself today which was depressing as I'm heavier than I've ever been! I'm heavier now than I was full term with DC1!!!

loveulotslikejellytots · 15/01/2018 14:16

Hi all, found out I'm pregnant with number 2 over the weekend! We have dd who is 2. DH had said for ages he didn't want any more, but at Christmas he said he'd come round to the idea of another. Grin and here we are, 2 weeks into January and I'm pregnant! Due date calculators put my due date as 23rd September. We were meant to be booking a holiday with friends next weekend for the end of August... might have to forget that one!

Scout2018 · 15/01/2018 14:49

Hi everyone, I'm tentatively joining the conversation - have been reading your posts and it's so nice to hear other people going through similar symptoms and concerns. We found out last week that I'm pregnant, due 5th September I think. This would be our first baby and I don't really know what to expect!

I am feeling sick most of the day (worse in afternoons), today I've started to get sore boobs. I also have mild pain - similar to period pain. It comes and goes, but is pretty frequent. Does anyone else have this? No bleeding I don't think, but I'd say a tiny amount of 'discoloration' when I wiped on Saturday but nothing since. (Sorry, TMI!).

dingdongdigeridoo · 15/01/2018 14:55

With my first I had period style cramps in the first trimester. I think it’s just your body stretching and getting ready. It used to be quite painful and scary though.

I’m so fed up of feeling sick and exhausted. Behind with work and no idea when I can catch up. I’m also eyeing up maternity jeans online and considering making the switch. I’m living in jeggings as I hate the feel of a waistband on my middle.

Sals27 · 15/01/2018 15:05

@Scout2018 I get the period type pain too. With that and increased cm, I keep having to run to the loo to knicker check as it feels just like AF Blush

Scout2018 · 15/01/2018 15:26

Thanks dingdongdigeridoo and Sals27, it's so nice to hear I'm not alone!

It's hard to be confident with all these symptoms bouncing around! I keep thinking "if we have the baby", "if it works out", etc. But the chances get better every day.
