@Nixen I'm missing wine at the minute too

Secondsop · 26/01/2018 19:22

Hi all. @iamloading I hope you’re bearing up. Statistics like these are hard aren’t they, because no matter what they are, the odds basically feel like 50:50 don’t they? Either one outcome or the other. It’s not as if you’re getting 20 goes at this!

@Lineeye I had exactly the same for DS2 - heartbeat but measuring a gestation when you wouldn’t expect a heartbeat. As everything is small at this point it’s hard for the measurement to be accurate - for me everything evened out a couple of weeks later.

We don't know what to do wih ourselves without wine. Its been our Friday evening for years!

Kingy2910 · 26/01/2018 20:17

Ok so I had never heard of the Harmony test until this evening. Am interested to know how many of you are going to have it and/or What are your thoughts on it??????

Secondsop · 26/01/2018 20:22

I had the harmony test for my second baby - I was at King’s and it was offered to me for free, not sure if that still happens or whether it was during the early trial days. I’m definitely going to have it.

Sals
I've seen lots of alcohol free ones? Maybe some posh pink lemonade
Sorry lol
We don't drink and trying to offer an alternative
If it helps I'm sat with Ribena and he's sat with milk lol

kirinm · 26/01/2018 20:45

I'm at Kings and they still offer the harmony if your risk is 1:1000 or more.

Sals27 · 26/01/2018 21:13

@Lostmybaubles I don't think I can bring myself to go for alcohol free wine. I have elderflower fizz which is actually very nice, and have a rose cloudy lemonade in the cupboard which looks promising too Smile

Secondsop · 26/01/2018 22:30

Thanks @kirinm for the info re King’s. I would imagine I am likely to be in the category offered it, because of my age. For my first baby, before the harmony test, my risk came back 1:130, but for the second one it was 1:1120.

MonaTheMoaner · 26/01/2018 23:10

I’d love to have it but it’s not offered on the NHS here even if the risk is high so if I were to opt for it, it would cost £450-500 privately. Unfortunately that’s out of my budget at the moment and so I’ll be relying on the standard scans and blood tests as I wouldn’t have an amniocentesis.

Fia256 · 26/01/2018 23:14

Sorry to be a downer, but I've been so bloody hormotional tonight!

Eyes are once again infected (this is a common symptom I always get but this is definitely the worst so far), my left side was hurting where I have the two ovarian cysts and the pain was making me feel sick. I then ended up having a complete and utter breakdown over the baby we lost last year, relived it all in my head and then became terrified of going through that again. The tears helped clear the soreness in my eyes so I can now open them again. I also now feel completely sane again and feel like a emotional wreck for getting so upset out of nowhere!!

Sorry, i just had to get all that out and there's no other people who can understand the craziness of hormones than other hormonal, pregnant women Grin

MonaTheMoaner · 26/01/2018 23:22

Fia you’re not a downer. Sounds like one hell of a night!

Katsanddogs · 26/01/2018 23:57

Hi all, joining this thread.
Stats: Kats, 26, DC1, edd 20/9/18. I don't plan on finding out the gender either.
I had a mc in october but feeling positive about this one. Had a little bleed earlier but was after dtd so trying not to read anything into that. I've had an early scan at 5+3 and everything looked as it should. I was scanned by a friend who is an epu midwife and she told me that the yolk sac becomes visible between 5 and 5.5 weeks and the heartbeat around 6 weeks so those of you worried about your scans i would think that if you saw a heartbeat you likely are 6 weeks.
I had a really busy shift on wednesday (15hours) and have only just properly woke up since then! So tired!
Sorry to everyone who has had losses.

Caimor23 · 27/01/2018 09:11

Feeling a bit anxious today... I'm worried about a missed miscarriage. I'll be 7 weeks tomorrow, and I was experiencing a lot of symptoms: nausea, extreme fatigue, dizziness, really sore breasts. But those seem to be getting weaker than they were (minus the fatigue but we just got a puppy that keeps us up at all hours so that could be why I'm still tired), and I know that it could be a bad sign...

Am I being irrational? Should I go in for a scan? I have my 12 week schedule in March but I don't know if I can wait that long... How do I even schedule an earlier scan? It's my first and I'm absolutely terrified something's wrong.

MonaTheMoaner · 27/01/2018 09:11

Had a horrible night with tooth pain. Extractions not booked in until 14 weeks mid-March. Started Amoxicillin and paracetamol combo, clove oil and salt water but still very sore and throbbing so much it’s spreading to my ear on the left side.

Hoping it passes by today. I’m so exhausted and the DC’s are home around midday.

Terriersandtea · 27/01/2018 09:20

@Caimor23 you can book a private reassurance scan if you’re worried. They range from about £40-£90. I just googled it and booked one myself I’m going this afternoon, I couldn’t wait until 12 weeks and this seemed the easiest way. They were lovely on the phone. I hope everything’s okay.

Caimor23 · 27/01/2018 09:59

@terriers thanks for the advice. Are you going to see anyone in particular? I'm going to have to go ahead and do that. Good luck with your scan today!

Don't want to find out the sex but partner does. I didn't with my first dc.

Namechangedtoscream · 27/01/2018 10:45

Bit light hearted. All I want to do is guzzle down a pint of squash and eat a jar of raspberry jam. But I cant. If I do anything more than sip a drink or eat miniscule amounts up it all comes. Woe is me.

CuppaSarah · 27/01/2018 11:25

After spending half the night up with a bad stomach, I'm on the mend finally. I want to sleep for a month and eat chocolate buttons till I pop. Sorry I haven't caught up, but it's more effort than I can make.

Norovirus can stick a pin up it's arse. Hope everyone is doing ok.

Fia256 · 27/01/2018 12:30

I've woken up absolutely full of cold. Currently waiting for dd to finish dancing and I'm just going to go home and go to bed and hope she entertains herself for a few hours and dh and ds are out for the day. I just really hope I'm not getting the flu!

MonaTheMoaner · 27/01/2018 13:17

Oh God, we’re having a weekend of it! DH had the runs all night and slept all morning. I’m dosed on co-codamol and orajel struggling to talk 😂

loveulotslikejellytots · 27/01/2018 13:28

Yep, all fun and games here. Dd developed croup last night. She was hacking her heart up every couple of minutes. I ended up taking her in the spare room with me but I got zero sleep because I was watching her!

We've just had a 2 hour nap though so I'm feeling slightly refreshed! Now having left over Chinese from last night (thoroughly heated of course) Grin

Shook2018 · 27/01/2018 14:43

Just had my booking in appt - exciting to finally get something moving as I'm 9+1! Feels real now.

No scan done etc but hopefully 12 weeks will come around fast! Still feeling horrid, ketones in urine though because I'm not eating enough 😷

Sals27 · 27/01/2018 15:15

I literally cannot stop eating, always hungry! I think I need morning sickness to rear its ugly head or I'll be the size of a house.
