Due at New Year....anyone else?!

kerm · 24/04/2007 12:36

Have just found out that I am pregnant. Blimey! A bit nervous/scared! DH says scared is too strong a word. Might be from his side of things but I think that I'm scared!
Due 31st Dec or 1st Jan, can't quite work out whether cycle is 29 or 30 days.
First time, so not too sure what to expect!
Anyone else due at new year?

Bettymamma · 29/05/2007 15:44

Can you get mastitis when pg?? oh lordy - I had that after my dd. Actual nipple swelled to the size of a 50 pence piece!! Can you imagine trying to put that in a newborns mouth? Where's those minging maternity bras.

Green poo - Gillian McKeith would not be proud. Haven't a clue why. Very bizarre.

skibump · 29/05/2007 15:45

I bought a couple of Elle Macpherson mat/feeding bras last time - but not until ds was about 8 months old! They're expensive, but really comfortable and look nice too. Plus they are very adjustable to accommodate growing/shrinking. So, rather than do what I did, get something nice to start with - we're going to be in them for a long time

MrsMac re my 'pink & girlie' symptom. Strange but true

lisa111 · 29/05/2007 17:26

Hi laidies,

Not been on for a while. I had a miscarriage Thurs/Fri. Only 7 weeks so not bad.

GOOD LUCK to all and hope it goes well for all of you. xxx

mummyto2littleprincess · 29/05/2007 17:49

mum2sam · 29/05/2007 18:11

Yeah i def think im going to be bigger ive nearly put on half a stone already. This pregnancy feels completely different to ds. I just had mainly sickness and sore nipples.Looking forward to my dating scan just to see whether the baby is growing well. Ive just brought myself a normal bra should i go for wireless? Hmm my whole breast area is sore this time and when i take my bra off it is reall tender around the sides. I cant wait to get over these few months

birdseed · 29/05/2007 18:38

Welcome back Victor victor - awesome news!...and so quickly! Really pleased for you.

Bluebell82 - given your history i think that you have every right to be cautious and to go the early pregnancy unit if you have one, as you need to look after that remaining tube, so if you are having pain it might be worth a visit to ask them to scan you to check that it is in the right place. Can't remember how many weeks or how many weeks is the earliest possible scan.

Told dh's parents and brother at the weekend. Really nice to have told someone and not to have to keep it to ourselves.

Welcome all newly bfp's.

Glad u are all ok plummy I am now 8+3 ms has returned somewhat and I have been completely knackered today. Still havent been offered midwife appoint although saw dr when i was 6 weeks. Popped in surgery today and they took details of scan 2 weeks ago and said they will get midwife to call. SHe didnt (2nd message). Wondering if this is a sign of the midwifery support with my local gp. Just want to make sure that I have nuchal fold scan booked and also if i need a scan to monitor the cyst.

Still drinking sprite Was naughty tongith and had fish & chips.. never tasted sooo good

VV, 28 of us, Wow!

Jenswish, how are you feeling today?

mum2sons · 30/05/2007 11:05

Hi!
My DS`s are 12 and 2.8years.
We tried for about 6 years for DS2, hence the big age gap.

I have booked my scan for Friday so will feel more relaxed after then. I did another test last night just to be sure (test no 3!) I am still convincing myself it must be a fluke and DH and I are racking our brains to try and remember any random shags we may have had which could change the date!!

Calgary99 · 30/05/2007 11:37

Welcome to all the newcomers!

I received my midwife group appointments for June 27(first) and July 9th (NT) which is just way too long for me. As I plan to have a CVS test I'm going to cancel the NT as it's accuracy is barely 75% - wouldn't hold muster in any scientific group - AND it gives results in 'odds' so that some with 1 in 3 change of DS have had great amnio or CVS tests - how's that for stressful. Anyhoo... I called the midwives group and they said to go private for the CVS test which I was expecting. Have been searching for places online with info but all I found was a brochure from Guy's and St.Thomas' Hospital that puts the m/c risk at 2% which is a good 4x the level of better places in the US and Canada. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions on where to go/where not to go?

Thanks so much!

katyt1 · 30/05/2007 11:59

hi all, sorry can't help re cvs, no experience, but good luck finding somewhere 'safe'.

been away at in-laws for long weekend. stopped bfing as of sat, so now have huge bbs again, not for long i'm sure...tho started leaking at 4 months last pg so guess it won't really dry up completely anyway.

still feeling ok, just tired. put on some weight too, boo hiss. shd have starting my diet for summer now i've stopped feeding, ah well.

will try and catch up with everyone, but hello to all of us, and so many too!

(((hugs))) to lisa hun.

kt

Calgary99 · 30/05/2007 12:13

I just read through the latest postings...

So sorry Lisa. Sending big hugs and well wishes.

beller · 30/05/2007 12:15

No symptoms from me really yet, apart from HUGE sore boobs, I was sick yesturday, bu think thats the ex making me ill! Have to see him tonight to sort a few thinsg out..then hopefully onwards and upwards. I think im going to be due 28th dec? But have Docs appt monday to see........
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Bettymamma · 30/05/2007 14:15

oh pants oh pants - 3 medical type people at work have just spotted the sea sick bands and said very loudly 'oh my god you're pg' hellppppppppppp. I kind of went red and just went shhhhhhh. I'm only 9 wks tomorrow grrr. I was doing so well.

Beller - welcome. Sorry to hear about the ex situation hope it gets sorted tonight.

Good luck sorting cvs test Calgary - no knowledge of it either unfortunately. You could put thread on pregnancy topic about it?

skibump · 30/05/2007 14:31

Hard luck Bettymamma. What sort of place do you work? They must be v eagle-eyed! I'm trying desperately not to tell too many people yet, haven't told PIL, so need to be careful! I'm finding it really hard tho

Calgary, have you thought of doing a nuchal fold & blood test? That's what I did last time, and the accuracy is much improved - tho not 100%. I then planned to have cvs if it showed high risk, in which case I thought the mc risk would be worth it. It's a bit of a carry on, but it might be worth considering if you can't find anywhere with an acceptable risk for cvs

Beller, welcome and congratualations. Sorry about the circumstances, hope you get everything sorted out with you ex

Bettymamma · 30/05/2007 14:32

sorry - got caught up in my own world - can I just add congratulations Beller and I think its fantastic that you've decided to go it alone.xx
