Don'tknowmyarsefrommyelbow, I'm in the same position - DH seems terrified of coming near me with my huge stomach! Is okay now as I'm kind of getting too unwieldy, but a few weeks ago I was totally up for it and he looked absolutely terrified... I think he finds the whole pregnancy thing quite overwhelming actually in the physical sense - I definitely think there's an element of 'where's my DW gone?' He's v. excited about baby, but I think until I'm 'me' again he's going to be quite wary of carnal relations. having said that, I've made it quite clear that from week 37 onwards, he's got to feed me curry and shag me constantly (docs want to induce me at 38 weeks so I'm going to aim at a natural induction first... )

NattyThomasandBump · 22/04/2007 20:23

oposite for me im afraid, hubby up for it and im just toooooo uncomfortable.
being the first one due (i beleive) maybe u girls have all this to come in the next couple of weeks lol.

hollyandalice · 22/04/2007 20:30

Grrrr for you on tax credits NT&B! Mine were cocked up for ages and I received nothing for 4 months, then had to get them manually with a Giro! They are sorted now and they will give you backpay, but it's really annoying when you need the money.

I am absolutely determined to have this baby on time. Going over your edd is horrible and I don't want it to happen again. Therefore dp may get lucky at 37 weeks and then every day from then on. I shall also be using my breast pump for nipple stim and taking loads of RLT!

Holly - excuse me in advance but GP is talking SHITE!!!!
There is pleanty that can be done if this is very regular then they should be able to be referred to the nearest enurisis clinic - the drug is called desomelt and it slows down the body's night time ability to make urine. also if drugs are not their thing then they could try one of these
why should they sleep all night let's wake them up!!!!!!!!

hollyandalice · 22/04/2007 20:31

You do know your credits go down when your baby turns one don't you? That may be why you are getting less. Mine went from £149 a month to £129 when dd turned one. You may have to wait til bubs is born til they bump them up again.

Maybe the gp thinks it is normal for an 11 year old to wet his bed! He has one of those alarms and apparently it wakes the whole house up, but not him!

OP posts:
derlor · 22/04/2007 20:36

maybe the GP wets HIS bed too!!!!

derlor · 22/04/2007 20:37

wonder if you can get an alarm that sends an electric shock to his ass instead of just a buzzer sound - that ought to waken him!!!!!

NattyThomasandBump · 22/04/2007 20:39

yes but they have cut ours from 200 to 40.. something not right there!! idiots had down i was working full time for some reason

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 22/04/2007 20:40

Don't know about tax credits? How do you know if you are to get them or not? Sorry for being a div?

derlor · 22/04/2007 20:41

Oh total change of subject by selfish wee me but i forgot to rejoyce to you all that i am now on MATERNITY LEAVE!!!!!!

NattyThomasandBump · 22/04/2007 20:41

NattyThomasandBump · 22/04/2007 20:42

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 22/04/2007 20:44

delor!
You lucky thing!

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 22/04/2007 20:45

I chose that name for a reason!

derlor · 22/04/2007 20:45

sorry natty i know NOTHING about tax credit either so can't be of any use to you - i'm not ignoring your dilema i'm just not able to help/advise.
sympathy though - sounds like a very large drop in money for no aparant reason???
Tax folk always quick to take money off you but not so to give it out huh!

hollyandalice · 22/04/2007 20:49

That doesn't sound right nt&b, the tax credits people are a bunch of wankers. If you need the money go to your local tax office and they'll give you an emergency payment and try and sort the problem out for you. They are much more useful than the tossers on the phone!

for you derlor! You can join us day time chatters now! That is if you don't have a real life to be getting on with! Thanks for the advice btw!!

DKMAFME once you have registered for child benefit you can apply for tax credits. All the info will be in your new mum bounty pack!

NattyThomasandBump · 22/04/2007 20:50

yeah it was, and of course we rely on the weekly money for weekly essentials ie. bread milk etc
but they have admitted something is wrong, and are sorting it hopefully

hollyandalice · 22/04/2007 20:50

I know loads about tax credits, I've had so many problems with them I know the process inside out!

OP posts:
NattyThomasandBump · 22/04/2007 20:53

so how do i apply for ellen when shes born, do i have to wait for child benefit first?

riabutterflew · 22/04/2007 20:55

derlor - you think you are on maternity leave. You are our pet HV - no rest for the wicked?

Tax credits are evil. They've just cut mine by about £50 a week and I'm really noticing the strain. Am trying to sort it out as I can't find the reason for it either, but they won't tell you how they come to these decisions as they think that will help you fiddle the system! (DH doesn't get overtime either, so even though he works constantly it doesn't help.) Hope it gets sorted soon as I fancy some retail therapy.
Am also a bit re my MA. I emailed my old boss to ask for a list of my hours for the relevant time (I was only "casual" so have no regular ideas to work on and I've lost half of my record of it - because I'm useless). She is "too busy for such a mammoth task" but I can go in myself if I want to look through all the old timesheets.

Not sure what I'll do - if I sent my forms to the DWP as they are and they told my boss to find the info she would have to do it wouldn't she?, but I don't want to cause any hassle.

NattyThomasandBump · 22/04/2007 20:59

use the tax credits calculator, tells you how much a week you should be getting.
www.entitledto.co.uk/
its also tells you about housing and council tax benifit.
hope this helps

derlor · 22/04/2007 21:02

oh i'm off to watch superstorm and Ria - only too happy to help you lot out always - least i can sit on my ass and do it!!!!!

riabutterflew · 22/04/2007 22:39

thanks nt&b, will have a look.
derlor - you are much friendlier than our proper HV who is way too young and way too scary! Enjoy your ML.
Goodnight. Hope we all sleep well tonight - we deserve it.

doggus · 23/04/2007 00:00

Stop talking all of you when I am not here, there's sooo much to read. Just wanted to say to H&A, poor you, what a nightmare weekend and get that electrified sheet ready....seriously, they ought to go to a specialist clinic, what's going to happen when they get girlfriends?

Bumper, ria, the new suited-up marylou, I am 39 and have been wearing leggings for the last two months, with long tops I hasten to add, and the fashion police haven't arrested me yet. I have bought 2 dresses from TopShop and that's it, no more maternity clothes.

Bumper - you have inspired me, I am going to have a go at that massage. Dh terribly excited as my libido is at an all time low so he thinks he is going to get lucky. Watch this space....

Night all.
