@MrsDneedsaB - that is 😱😱😱
I'm amazed there is no harm done. The chemicals in it must be horrendous!!

LivLemler · 22/12/2017 12:13

Oh god Mrs D, that's awful!

We ordered pram and car seat this morning, feel like that's a good job done!

MrsDishavingaB · 22/12/2017 14:00

I know it's terrible I just couldn't bring myself to say anything! Miltons is supposed to be safe because you don't need to rinse it off baby products but that's such a tiny amount of course it wouldn't hurt.

Is anyone signed up to Bounty? I get the emails and there are a couple of good deals on there, only annoying thing is that they expire on Sunday.

The M&P pram is the one I got and this is cheaper than I paid 😑 darnit!

Hello,

Can I join in please? Got my bfp today. Edd 27th August but I'm assuming I'll have a c section again a bit earlier.

I'm in shock and quite worried about how it'll all affect my toddler dd. She'll be 3 on 12th August.

harrietm87 · 22/12/2017 14:35

Congrats @Herecomesanotheron2018! I think you may have posted in the the wrong group though, as this thread is for babies due in April!

Herecomesanotheron2018 · 22/12/2017 14:45

Oops...pregnancy brain already 😂😂

MissYeti · 23/12/2017 08:26

Seems like teddys had a shifty around, getting kicks by my belly button again now (which is shallowing out dramatically now!!) Still no sign of the linea nigra but man my nips look weird lol! Pregnancy does some weird ass things to your body!

Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas! We're probably going to be busy til the day after boxing day so I shall speak to you all on the other side!! 🎄🎁

harrietm87 · 23/12/2017 10:01

I've got no sign of linea nigra either but am extremely pale so maybe won't get it? Also no stretch marks yet but expecting those as had absolutely loads from puberty on my hips and lower back. They did fade to practically invisible though so not too worried.

MrsDishavingaB · 24/12/2017 17:55

I don't have linea negra either. I think some people get it and some don't.

Not going to be checking Mumsnet for a few days as going to be social with people IRL 😂 so merry Christmas everyone!
I hope you all have an excellent week with loved onesXmas Grin

mmai · 26/12/2017 12:00

Just wondered if anyone is getting symptoms of nausea and extreme tiredness again? Everyone reassures me that 2nd trimester is supposed to get better but I feel like it's 1st trimester all over again!

Whymustyoubringinthebirds · 27/12/2017 18:50

How are you feeling Mmai?

I do think the tiredness has left me at all! Although some days a worse than others

OP posts:
LivLemler · 27/12/2017 22:31

I think I'm feeling more tired now than in the first trimester, I had an easy enough time of it early on, but definitely feeling it now. My bump is quite big though, so think I'm starting to find it tough lugging the extra weight around. I've also had a bit of nausea some mornings, which hadn't happened for months. Fun!

mmai · 27/12/2017 22:45

Phew I thought I was the only one as most of my friends keep telling me second trimester is the best but at now nearly 25 weeks walking up a hill I get quite short of breath and just want to nap most of the day!
Just wondered what the average weight gain is at this stage?
I'm only 5ft1 and gained 8kg!! I find this really shocking !

LivLemler · 27/12/2017 23:05

I'm only an inch taller than you, I've gained about a stone, but I was overweight to begin with. There are sites that chart the advised weight gain by week, based on your height and weight at the start of the pregnancy - but they all say slightly different things for me, and I don't think it's something you need to get too worked up about. I'm just trying to keep an eye as I had a tendency to eat for two long before pregnancy so trying to keep things vaguely in check - god knows what Christmas has done though!

harrietm87 · 28/12/2017 00:57

mmai I gained 8kg in the first 10 weeks!!! My BMI had been 21 but was 24 at booking in due to my massive hunger in first trimester (which was partly due to having to be on steroids). I'm 5'7 and went from 61 to 69kg. I think I've put on a couple of kg since but at a much slower rate. Haven't been weighed recently so not sure. Weirdly can still fit into my size 10 baggy work dresses but am in size 16 maternity jeans - probs cos it's all gone on my legs and bum! I'm not too worried- will just try and eat healthily after the birth.

ClaireBear1986 · 28/12/2017 08:40

Glad it is not just me that found the 1st trimester a lot easier.
During the 2nd trimester I have been exhausted and so emotional. And I deffo haven't glowed!! Ha.
My bump is still quite petite so dread to think what the tiredness will be like if it gets big!!

I wouldn't worry about the weight gain too much as your Midwife will tell you if you are gaining too much.

I'm 5'7ish and have gained about 1/2 a stone. (Think that is about 3kg, but could be totally wrong with that conversion)
This will probably change a lot once I weigh myself after Xmas and New Year.

I'm trying to eat really healthy all week, and then have one cheat day at the weekend, where I will be naughty and have a fry up or takeaway.

RosesForBadgers · 28/12/2017 17:13

Hi everyone! Good to have a new thread on the go. I've sent @sparklyowl a PM to ask to be added to the FB group but haven't seen her on here for a while, would anyone else be able to add me? If so, let me know and I'll PM you.

Agree that second trimester hasn't been quite the glowing relaxfest that I was hoping for. We've bought our first family home and it needs absolutely everything done. I'm working on being excited and positive but I'm mainly just feeling a bit overwhelmed and tired - really, really tired. Everything will be fine as long as we're on top of it by the time the baby arrives, I guess, but I miss our old house!

MrsDishavingaB · 28/12/2017 17:43

Sucks that everyone is having such a tough second trimester, I managed to get my energy back half way through it as I was no longer going to bed at 8pm every night haha but as of yesterday (26 weeks) I am not officially in the 3rd trimester and I fell asleep on the sofa at 4pm 😂 expecting to get more tired and more uncomfortable as the weeks progress now!

Don't worry too much about the weight gain ladies, you've really not done too badly and that will most likely fall off if you are breastfeeding. It's not the supposed "60lbs" that the celebrities gain (yeh f*ing right) so you're good!

I have noticed my mood swings coming back too, had a full on meltdown last night at midnight. Had a panic attack about breast feeding which somehow led the relationship paranoia which led to 30 mins of uncontrollable sobbing which then led to hating my DH for not waking up by the sound of me sobbing 😂😂 I've officially gone insane

MrsDishavingaB · 28/12/2017 17:44

Also this meme has never felt so apt lol!

Due April 2018 thread #3
ClaireBear1986 · 29/12/2017 08:48

Omg, I love that meme so much. Ha ha.
It scarily looks just like me as well ;)

The tiredness is so bad, not like anything I have experienced before. So lord knows what it will be like in the 3rd trimester.

My mood swings have also returned, and there has been a lot of tears over the last month.

I'm also finding that I am constantly boiling. Its awful, as we were visiting people for Xmas with their heating on and I just felt like I was going to pass out.
Having to go to bed with windows open and my fan on full blast.

harrietm87 · 29/12/2017 09:45

Im counting myself lucky - apart from some spots I think I've pretty much had that mythical easy second trimester. Lots of energy and no sickness.

I'm just starting to notice that my bump is affecting how I move though - I actually did an old person's groan as I got up off the sofa yesterday! Hoping I don't start waddling!

There seems to be some variation in when the third trimester starts - one of my books says 25 weeks and one says 28 weeks, but either way we're almost there!

ClaireBear1986 · 29/12/2017 10:37

I second the spots as well @harrietm87. My face looks like a dot to dot, and my hair is so greasy literally hours after washing it. I feel like I'm going through puberty again. Ha ha.

I read 3rd trimester started 27 weeks, so there's another date to add to the mix. Ha.
NHS say week 28, so I think I will go with that one :)

MixxyT · 29/12/2017 11:27

Hi Ladies,
Can I join your group? I just signed up to mumsnet, my second baby is due in April. Looking to engage a little more with this pregnancy and thought chatting with other mums might help me get more prepared.

pinkflamingo121318 · 29/12/2017 11:40

I'll be 26 weeks tomorrow and have been given antisickness tablets!!

I've even started being sick during the night! Managed to survive Christmas Day but I felt terrible Boxing Day.

I woke up really dizzy and had to rush to the toilet. Spent one hour in there, then had to go back an hour later for half an hour!

Since then I've been dizzy multiple times during the night and had to run to the bathroom.

Woke up at 4 and 5 this morning to be sick. Just want this sickness gone!!

ClaireBear1986 · 29/12/2017 11:44

Welcome @MixxyT, do you know if you are team blue or pink?

That sounds awful @pinkflamingo, I hope the tablets work and help you feel better.

What are everyone's plans for NYE this year?
