Okay so, had some plug loss last week (small) and definitely more earlier.

Been feeling dull period pains, no pattern and not enough to time.. since 11-3.
Stopped when I was laying down.

Got up to cook tea at 4:30ish and the pains have come back, still no pattern but they are more painful and I would say a bit longer - still not enough to time.

Yesterday I was crying all day at the smallest thing.
Today I've felt sick
had a poo (not diarrhoea or anything out of the ordinary)
Had a headache
Felt really tired

SO I am going to have sex tonight and also a shower so I can wash my hair and shave just in case!

DH isn't aware that we'll be having sex but we did on Wednesday so I'm sure he won't mind haha!

boatrace30 · 30/03/2018 19:18

Fingers crossed things are happening @pinkflamingo121318 . Good luck!

Sam91TRS15 · 30/03/2018 19:34

Good luck pink! I hope this is it for you! I'm hoping my emotional breakdown earlier is a sign labour is near for me too!

pinkflamingo121318 · 31/03/2018 07:39

All pains have stopped - but going out for a walk today!

Sex hasn't helped anything either!

rosegarden45 · 31/03/2018 08:38

@pink apparently nipple stimulation is the only technique that has been scientifically proven to work. I'm guessing it's due to sending signals to your brain that you are ready to produce milk. I was told it needs to be at least half an hour of stimulation for the contractions to get started. So if you are able to then maybe give that a go? I'm not sure I could manage it as they are so ridiculously sensitive but I might give it a go in a couple of weeks to prevent induction!

Good luck

olicat · 31/03/2018 09:08

@Pink it definitely sounds like labour won't be too far away!

Good luck to you as well @Sam!

Was in triage yesterday with reduced movements as baby had a very quiet morning but turned out he was just being a scamp and is fine. Was really impressed with how thorough the hospital were and very reassuring that I'd done the right thing by coming in. 37 weeks today and looking forward to baby being out in (hopefully) the next 3 weeks!

harrietm87 · 31/03/2018 11:13

After moaning about no signs whatsoever I was up from 5am today with terrible period-type cramps! But they were constant rather than coming and going and have worn off now - argh!

I'm 39 weeks tomorrow - feel like it's gonna be a long few weeks! Definitely gonna try some nipple stimulation!

DaisyLand · 31/03/2018 12:09

We’ll never be so happy to have those period cramps Smile I can’t wait to have mine !

pinkflamingo121318 · 31/03/2018 13:59

We had our walk this morning - took kids to the park, fed the ducks and had a little walk.

I could feel that he had moved lower as we were walking back to the car, but no pains.

After leaving the park, we started to drive the 5 minutes home..

DH asked if there was anywhere else I wanted to go, I said KFC because I wanted a Krushem. Their machine was broken.

So I said I'd settle for McDs and he said they were still refurbing (I thought they were still open while doing this). We drove the long way home (near that McDs) and I thought he was taking me there as he hadn't fully explained that they're completely shut.

SO I have no Krushem and no McDs milkshake. Could this day get any worse!!

Ohh okay! At least I got to enjoy some sex before we can't for a while!

I have a breast pump, would that work as stimulation? I fed DD for 2.5yrs so it would probably come back quite quickly once baby is here!

rosegarden45 · 01/04/2018 08:55

Happy Easter everyone. Maybe we'll see some Easter bunnies appear today?
It's April! Babies are coming this month. (Well most of them!) Exciting times 😀🐣

pinkflamingo121318 · 01/04/2018 13:54

I used my breast pump for the first time today.. 10 minutes each side and I got this out! Clearly having breastfed Before has made a difference!

Unfortunately it hasn't given me any feelings at all!

Sam91TRS15 · 01/04/2018 14:09

Woe that's loads, I manage to manually squeeze a few drops out every now and again, though made some lactation cookies which defo made more come out!
Will colostrum continue to come out until baby gets here or will proper milk come through early?

I can't believe it's April.. I never actually thought I'd reach April! The more overdue I go the more stressed I'm getting about not managing to go through labour again :(

pinkflamingo121318 · 01/04/2018 16:59

How overdue are you @Sam91TRS15

I'm not actually sure! I never managed to get any out when I tried with DD (she was the breastfed one)

I am keeping whatever I do pump out though. It is nice to know I won't have supply issues this time either.

Sam91TRS15 · 01/04/2018 17:22

4 days overdue so far. It's so demoralising. Sweep tomorrow so hopefully that does something! It's horrible thinking something is happening and then nothing coming from it! And I'm more and more tired everyday cos I can't sleep cos I'm so anxious about it.
Yeah it's good to have a nice backup of milk ready just in case! How far are you now?

pinkflamingo121318 · 01/04/2018 19:15

@Sam91TRS15
Hope the sweep works for you!!

I had one with my second and she was born 3 days later.. that was a super slow labour as they refused to break my waters, I was 4cm for AGES. I begged them repeatedly to break them, and when they finally did - she arrived 80 minutes later!
Waters broke with my first and he was born 5 hours later, so I wasn't expecting such a long second labour!

I'm gutted about my false alarm on Friday.. but I'm not actually due until Saturday (7th).
My other two were born born on 2nd so I'm hoping this one follows suit - easy for everyone to remember birthdays!

Sam91TRS15 · 01/04/2018 19:33

I hope so! Luckily they will induce me on Wednesday if it doesn't work.
They tried 3 or 4 times with DD to break my waters, so I'm not expecting that form of induction to work for me if I get that far!
Did they say why they wouldn't break your waters? That seems ridiculous if you are already in labour... Hopefully they will this time round if it's needed!
Worried about induction though cos so much says it's more painful and your more likely to need more drugs and usually interventions too.. Although long my last labour was so simple in comparison

olicat · 01/04/2018 20:46

@Pink that is an impressive amount of colostrum!

@Sam hope things get going for you!

I am getting constantly headbutted in the cervix which is exhausting, have a funny feeling baby is gearing up to come early, could be totally wrong though. TENS machine is being delivered on Tues so it definitely needs to wait til then!

Might just be wishful thinking re: coming early though as my cervix is taking such a beating 😂

pinkflamingo121318 · 02/04/2018 07:36

@Sam91TRS15

They said I had to try progress more (I'd been in hospital for 12 hours by this point and hadn't moved from 4cm). My labour lasted 36hrs from my first contraction.

They were pretty crap though.. I have epilepsy so they're supposed to monitor me and make sure I don't get tired. They wanted my mum and DH to go home at 9pm and were going to intervene at 9am if nothing had changed.
My mum kicked off saying they haven't been monitoring me, blah blah blah.. so they checked me and said they'd break my waters.
Good job they did because DD had managed to wriggle so much, part of the cord was around her neck! I hate to think what could've happened if my mum wasn't there.

But they've been a lot more on top of my epilepsy this time as I was on Sodium Valproate at the start. They took me off it but I've had lots of scans and I eventually had to go back on a lower dose because it wasn't controlling me.

Sam91TRS15 · 02/04/2018 08:54

Oh pink that sounds awful! I'm glad your mum was there to kick them up the butt! Hope they are much better this time round for you!
I haven't ordered a TENS machine, last time we managed to rent one from the hospital so I am hoping they still do that for this time!
I was up getting thrown up on at midnight with DD. All preparation for a newborn coming haha! Although she isn't often sick so I was in total panic mode thinking I'd have to take her to hospital.. I think she maybe just had too much Easter chocolate though..
Still no signs for me today so gonna have a nice warm bath before my sweep this afternoon.

FairfaxAikman · 02/04/2018 09:45

We bought a TENS machine as it wasn't much more than the cost of renting one and we get to keep it for future use (or number two) or to lend to friends.

Sam91TRS15 · 02/04/2018 10:07

Oh really? I never actually looked into the price of them. Didn't even think about it last time until they sent me home and offered it. Where I am you just pay a deposit and get it back at the end so hopefully that's still the case.
Having a bath now and I feel like I may be having contractions, regular sore cramps and my belly is hardening too. But I'm really not sure if I should believe it or not? If I go in for my sweep and aay I think I'm having contractions will they check? And still do the sweep??

FairfaxAikman · 02/04/2018 10:13

@Sam91TRS15 our hospital doesn't rent them and Mothercare is about £30.
We could have got one for £30 but went for a slightly more advanced model at £50. I have a long-term shoulder injury so can use it for that afterwards

rosegarden45 · 02/04/2018 10:16

I didn't sleep well (nothing new there) and have really bad back ache. I don't know if the back ache is down to being uncomfortable all night tossing and turning or if it is the start of something. I woke up desperately wanting a deep tissue massage but knowing that's impossible. So I've stuck the tens machine on. It's so nice. The woman I got it off said not to use it before 37 weeks because they can help to start labour. My back pain may be labour related or this may help to get me going. We'll see what happens. Only 38 weeks tho so I'm probably not going to have the baby any time soon. I have reflexology booked tomorrow so hoping that will also help with the discomfort.

pinkflamingo121318 · 02/04/2018 13:07

I don't know if I've mentioned it before or not.. but I don't actually feel contractions!
I get a dull ache - enough to know they are happening but not enough to be in pain. If I put my hands on my bump, then I can feel it.

Only ever had one BH out of all 3 pregnancies, and I definitely felt the pain of that so baffles me about the contractions!

I thought I felt some in the bath last night but I think it was just the baby moving and pushing his back out.

I had a little pump in the bath last night and then again this morning. Didn't get as much as yesterday, but had a little. Will be doing it again after some lunch. I read 3 times a day, 10 minutes each side.
Colostrum won't go until the body tells it to. (Think about the people who tandem nurse.. boobs are incredibly clever!)

I now have to bath the 4 year old which involves washing her hair (near her bum!!).. she got some lollies from someone this Easter and it's made her hair gross and sticky!

Sam91TRS15 · 02/04/2018 16:12

Went to my sweep at 1. She said the head was right at the cervix, I was 3 cm dilated and my bishops score? Was 9/12. She phoned the labour ward with this info and they both had a wee laugh wandering why I wasn't in labour!
Contractions aren't sore or overly regular though.. Hoping things speed up soon!
