Congratulations @Boat and @MrsD! Hope you're both recovering well.

Crossing my fingers that baby behaves and stays put tonight @pinkflamingo!

olicat · 28/03/2018 22:23

Sorry I meant tomorrow!

TrigsToo · 29/03/2018 08:45

Congrats boatrace, glad everything went well Smile

harrietm87 · 29/03/2018 08:52

Congratulations @boatrace30 and @MrsDishavingaB! So jealous - can't wait to meet my baby now! 38+4 and no signs whatsoever...

pinkflamingo121318 · 29/03/2018 11:36

Baby is 4/5ths engaged, has flipped over so his back is the side it should be!

Just a waiting game now.. sweep booked for 10th and 12th April if he isn't here before then!

olicat · 29/03/2018 12:12

I'm not due til 21st so think I may well end up being the last one to pop!

TrigsToo · 29/03/2018 12:37

Nah, @olicat - 26th here. Baby has dropped right down, but I'm still thinking he'll be late.

Aspenn17 · 29/03/2018 18:41

Congrats boatrace!

Had my consultants appt today and the good news is they want to leave me 2 more weeks in hope I go into labour naturally, baby is engaged. She’s big but not too big, still 86th percentile. If she’s not here by 12th (actually due on 17th) I have another appt and will given a date for induction. I’ve been told because I have extra fluid around baby they would like me to be in hosp when my waters break, so I have to go in as soon as contractions start, if they break at home I have to call an ambulance. Eek.

Good luck to everyone due over the bank holiday! Hope there are lots of Easter babies 🙂

rosegarden45 · 29/03/2018 19:38

Had my whooping cough vaccine today. Apparently I'm late getting it. To be honest I had completely missed the fact that we are supposed to have it. My midwife hadn't ever mentioned it. I would have thought that at some point with all my appointments it would have been mentioned but I guess it's something we take responsibility for ourselves just like the flu jab.
Anyway, it's only because I saw some info about it last week that I realised it is something recommended to pregnant women from 20 weeks to protect baby.

So I had it today. Just wanted to let you all know in case anybody else was unaware of it and needs to get it prior to baby being born.

Hope all the new babies are settling in well and new mummies and feeling good. I'm increasingly uncomfortable at 37.5 and want to get this baby moving. Looking forward to newborn cuddles.

isitnearlytimee · 30/03/2018 09:35

Hi, I'm due next week and have passed this earlier.. is it part of my plug or discharge?!

I had a wee, but nothing when I wiped.

5 minutes later, I came upstairs and this blob was just at the opening. It hadn't dropped or anything, just stayed there.

So I wiped with a cotton pad and it doesn't really look like discharge to me?

Looks like the plug with no blood. Search for it in google.

Good luck ! I’m still waiting for mine :(

Sam91TRS15 · 30/03/2018 10:05

It looks like your plug, mine looked just like that. But that was 4 days ago and I'm still preggo :(

isitnearlytimee · 30/03/2018 10:19

I remember losing my plug for a few days (bit at a time) before my waters went with my first.. but it was so long ago and I didn't have the final "bloody show" until just before I was ready to push.. hard to remember how things are supposed to look!

Sam91TRS15 · 30/03/2018 11:17

Mine was defo blood tinged last time but they say next time your cervix is never fully closed so maybe it's less likely to have blood in it second time round?

isitnearlytimee · 30/03/2018 11:39

@Sam91TRS15

This is my third..

But with my second, I had to have a sweep and they had to break my waters so it was a bit awkward and a very long labour. I can't remember much of it!

First came a day early and second was over a week late.

Sam91TRS15 · 30/03/2018 11:53

Oh no :( doesn't bode well for this one coming any time soon! I seem to be going the same way with this one. Induction due Wednesday!

harrietm87 · 30/03/2018 14:02

I'm 38+5 and no twinges, no show, and baby only 1/5 engaged. Don't want to be overdue but really looking like it isn't it?!

Jealous of those who are getting things moving!

DaisyLand · 30/03/2018 14:08

@harriet 1/5 is good isn’t it ? The smaller the number the better afaik. Mine is 3/5 and I’m like you. Tho keep having period discomfort but not as bad as period (have had it for 2 weeks now). I’ve accepted he will be a 42w boy

Sam91TRS15 · 30/03/2018 14:13

Yeah Harriet 1/5 is great! I was 2/5 and I've had a show and clear out and still nothing! I feel like my body has been trying for weeks, I get really sore BH and period pains but never consistent and I am sure I will be waiting til induction on Wednesday. Luckily where I am they are now inducing at 41 weeks, cos I can't deal with the is it real or fake labour constantly. It's mentally draining!

harrietm87 · 30/03/2018 14:17

@DaisyLand and @Sam91TRS15 it's confusing as the numbers can mean opposite things!

I'm 1/5 engaged which means that only 1/5 of the baby's head is in my pelvis.

1/5 palpable would mean they could only feel 1/5 above the pelvis (I.e. that it was 4/5 engaged). I'm deffo theformer, so hardly engaged at all!

Sam91TRS15 · 30/03/2018 14:42

Oh that's so confusing sorry! My notes are how much head can be palpated cos I defo am more engaged than the previous time she checked. I don't know how the while NHS can't just have a standard way to explain things!
These things can happen all of a sudden though, it's just waiting and seeing really! I was sure I would have a baby by now especially with all the contractions I have been having over the past few weeks and all the other good signs but you just can't predict it! (Which SUCKS...)

rosegarden45 · 30/03/2018 15:54

How do they work out how engaged you are? Is it from the midwife feeling the bump? Mine hasn't told me anything about that. All she said was I have to go back next week for a 38 week appointment. The appointments are getting tedious now, I want baby to get a wiggle on 😊

harrietm87 · 30/03/2018 16:04

@rosegarden45 yes they feel your bump (/prod your pelvis). Mine only really took an interest at my 38 week appt so yours will probably check then as well.

Sam91TRS15 · 30/03/2018 16:08

They will feel just above your pelvis and if baby is in that position they can tell how much of the head they can feel. I think it's after 38 weeks they check that!
Eugh I just had a BH contraction consistently for over 15 mins so phoned the midwife in a panic cos it just didn't seem normal just for them to explain how real contractions will be painful.. I realise that... I just didn't think it was normal for my uterus to tense for such a long time.. I just want this baby out, my body feels like it just isn't doing what it should be doing...
