Hi everyone! I've just found this thread!!

FTM after trying for 2 years! Due 17th April 2017 with a boy!! Over the moon!

I'm a very nervous FTM and have Low PAPP-A and also Rhesus-negative! Anyone else?

Aspenn17 · 05/02/2018 17:54

Hi sirlee66! We are due date buddies 🙂 1st baby here too, 17th April but baby girl x

harrietm87 · 05/02/2018 19:14

Welcome @sirlee66! Another ftm here. Had 3 miscarriages before this (all early), so was anxious at the start but all going well now at 31+1 - due date 8 April, don't know the sex.

Good that you've been signed off work @MrsDishavingaB - for how long? I've been doing really long hours recently (9am- midnight or later) as we're short staffed, and whilst I'm actually feeling ok I'm getting sick of it!

MrsDishavingaB · 05/02/2018 19:24

@harrietm87 oh god those are long days!! I do 8 - 4:30 in an office and that's more than enough for me lol. I've been signed off for a week as she thinks it might be stress induced but I've got to monitor when it happens to see if it's low blood sugar related.

Welcome and congrats @sirlee66 I'm a FTM expecting a boy too 😀 how's it been going so far? We're all entering the final phase of discomfort and panic that it's all ending so soon haha!

TrigsToo · 06/02/2018 12:05

Hey @sirlee66, also a FTM expecting a boy and we tried for 21 months before we got there. And that's not including the 13 months before that for my birth control to get out of my system, so we were over the moon once the sheer terror of 'omg its actually happened how are we supposed to do this?!?' wore off!

Testar0ssa · 08/02/2018 10:16

Hello to new posters!

Anyone else had a return to the really vivid dreams? I've had the explicit intimidate dreams, the dreams about baby being born except there were two of them, baby movement dreams, my friend having had a secret baby 20 years ago... all stupidly vivid and crazy.

I've had a quiet few months at work, but it looks like I'm going to be under significant pressure until my planned leave the last working day before due date.

This morning had to run to a meeting (including up stairs) with my boss, carrying heavy files, I thought I was going to expire. What with the braxton hicks, the reduced lung capacity and the heavy beachball stuck on the front, it wasn't an elegant sight.

Have a good rest of week everyone

harrietm87 · 08/02/2018 20:54

@Testar0ssa I had a terrifying dream where my baby clawed its way out of my stomach like something from alien, and when it came out it was a different race and therefore definitely not mine, but everyone was saying it was! I was so glad to wake up! Have had a constant stream of weird and wonderful vivid dreams throughout this pregnancy.

rosegarden45 · 08/02/2018 22:04

I've been having crazy dreams. I've also had the one with the baby clawing it's way out and I've dreamt that I gave birth to three babies instead of one! Last night I dreamt that my parents had a wine cellar under the house and one of my colleagues was in there being held hostage. I thought he was dead and wanted to call the police but my parents wouldn't let me. Totally mental! Made me feel bad when I saw him at work today!

Other than the crazy dreams I'm also getting quite breathless and hot and bothered. This huge lump stuck to my front is making me uncomfortable :-) but I try not to complain too much because it's taken us 6 years to create this bump so I know I should be enjoying the pregnancy experience. I'll definitely miss having the bump to rub and feeling the movements etc once it has come out.

Whymustyoubringinthebirds · 09/02/2018 06:40

Ah yes I have the crazy dreams too - they cover a wide variety of topics - must contribute to why I am so tired in the morning

TrigsToo · 10/02/2018 11:05

Yep, mad dreams here too and I never normally remember my dreams so it's been really weird. None about giving birth so far thankfully! More than one about being in holiday somewhere hot and something crazy happening.

MrsDishavingaB · 10/02/2018 12:24

Ah I'm feeling a little left out with the lack of vivid dreams lol as crazy as that sounds!
Although I'm normally a vivid dreamer so maybe it's just done the opposite...given me a few months rest 😂

Baby brain is really hitting me hard though, completely forgot about my growth scan and consultant appointment yesterday! Will have to ring the maternity ward on Monday and see what I should do. Completely 100% skipped my mind, must be because I'm not at work. Doh!

Testar0ssa · 11/02/2018 18:41

Argh re the forgotten scan and appointment MrsD hope they can fit you in quickly without fuss and waggling of finger. We get text messages ahead of appointments (which is handy) but I'm sure I'd be the same away from routine/calendars at work.

My baby brain manifests itself as forgotten words. I knew the word I wanted wasn't ventriloquist today (it took me a good 10 seconds to find the correct word, contortionist).

Heh with everyone else's weird dreams. My 'baby movement' dreams was a euphemism for baby's foot poking through my chest cavity... glad everyone else is having similar Alien type dreams.

Meanwhile, the phrase for this weekend is "not enough naps in the world". #zzzzzzz

Hope everyone has a good week

olicat · 11/02/2018 22:05

I had crazy dreams the whole first trimester but nothing since.

30+1 here and very happy to be in the thirties, feels like it's getting closer! Ordered the cot this weekend 😊 My mat cover is starting 2 weeks tomorrow for a 3 week handover so getting super real!

I'm really struggling with soreness at the top of my belly button at the moment, anyone else? My bump is all out in front and the muscles are complaining so much! I suspect it's something I'll have to just put up with til the end. But OW!

harrietm87 · 11/02/2018 22:29

@olicat I've had pains kind of underneath my bump, like it's too heavy for my skin! Also my belly button is totally flat now - I'm a bit freaked out at the thought it will start to poke out!

I'm 32 weeks today and due date feels simultaneously ages away and almost here! I've got 6 weeks left at work so counting down to that.

olicat · 11/02/2018 22:41

Yeah my belly button was a deep innie but now stretched to the max - there's a circle of really white skin all around it that has never previously seen the light of day! So weird. I feel like the 30 odd week stage is a strange place to be as it feels so close yet so far as you say!

rohimamonnan · 11/02/2018 22:47

Hi guys!! I've just joined so I'm still getting used to using this 😭 FTM due April 28th with a girl and very excited!!! Just wanted to ask if anyone was told they had strep b? I was hoping to go home soon after birth but now I have to stay in hospital for 24 hrs after birth :((( x

boatrace30 · 12/02/2018 07:58

I had strep b with my first and while it's not been identified this time they apparently treat all subsequent pregnancies the same 🙁
I ended up with a c-section last time and in for over 24hrs anyway and the strep b was irrelevant.
It is what it is though I feel your pain and would love to get home quicker (though repeat c-section looking likely)

Aspenn17 · 14/02/2018 10:50

@olicat I’ve had some really painful stretching round my bellybutton although weirdy only when I’m lying down or moving around in bed, but I have an old little keyhole surgery scar there and I think the scar tissue might be stretching underneath the skin making it worse. Feel like I’m at the stage now where baby is growing so fast my body is struggling to keep up!

Getting very excited for her to be here now it’s getting closer 😁

Hope everyone has a good Valentine’s Day!

DaisyLand · 15/02/2018 07:19

Hi
How is it going ! I’m under the 2 month left mark ! Scary !

Yesterday had a date with little boy. Of course being Valentine’s Day hewsnted his mummy to be dependant on him so decided to be quiet til I laid down on te hospitals bed. So kind of him. Luckily I was discharged quickly

Also I had had a sweep last week as I keep having high protein or leucocyte in the urine. Well , they’ve said I’ve got group b bacteria. How lucky of me ! I know someone was wondering about it and was gonna do it privately. My mw did it for me last week as I kept having those high every now and again. So when in labour I’ll have to have the medicines just after waters break or contractions start. On the one hand perfect as I know they won’t send me home just cuz I’ve obly dilated 1 cm. However I saw some news yesterday that someone from my neighbourhood got caught in traffic when she was in labouf when she was on her way my hospital and had to deliver the baby on the car. Yeah that’s a nice story to read to someone that has just been told about the bacteria! I’ve got antenatal appointment st the end of the month and each day I’ve got more clear I don’t want to wait til 40w for having the baby and want him out around 38-39.

Hope your days are easier than mine !

buzzbottom · 15/02/2018 07:25

Have you started packing a hospital bag?

I realised that I should probably start soon as I'll be 33 weeks in a couple of days and it's really creeping up on me this time!!

My cousin has just had a baby (a couple of days ago) and I'm even more eager to meet mine now!!

DD4 just came into bed for a cuddle, she said "I love the whole family and I even love the baby" and kissed my bump.

Midwife for me today because I forgot about last week (and DD had chicken pox so I wouldn't have been able to go anyway!)

boatrace30 · 15/02/2018 07:38

@DaisyLand - don't worry too much. I'm the event you have a fast labour they'd give the baby antibiotics after delivery rather than through you during delivery.
Good that it's been picked up.

boatrace30 · 15/02/2018 07:39

Oh and bag sort of packed here. It's been half term so I've been using the time (I teach) to try and get everything ready which second time round is much less fun as involves far less shopping and far more washing!!

harrietm87 · 15/02/2018 07:41

I've been buying stuff for my hospital bag slowly but still things to get. I'm 32+4 and I was born at 34 weeks so really hoping this baby doesn't come early as our house is nowhere near finished (doing major renovations). Otherwise feeling very lucky as still physically well, no aches and pains yet. Next midwife appt is 34 weeks and my hospital does a routine scan at 35 weeks.

buzzbottom · 15/02/2018 08:03

I already have 2 children but can't really remember what I need to pack!!

I've been buying nappies, wipes, breast pads and maternity pads each week I do my asda shop! Also will be packing my lanolin because that was invaluable with DD!

I finished the nursery this week (done everything myself when DH has been at work because he'd just get in the way!)
So my plan is to put my hospital bag in the cot and then get packing!

I need to write a list- any excuse for a list! I love a list!

We've almost finished the nursery. Side sleeping cot is in there just now and the wall decoration is still to go up as it will include bubs name.
