Thanks for all the welcomes ladiesSmile I may have misled by saying my due date is April 18...What I meant was 2018(!)Hmm Actual due date is 22 AprilGrin

Have just had a load of deliveries today and yesterday - bugaboo bee and car seat (there is £100 off carseats at John Lewis at the mo!)..plus the chicco next to me crib..plus ordered quite a lot of clothes. I think pregnancy is giving me a very good excuse to go wild with the online shopping Grin. Are people clear what sizes to buy? It seems very confusing - like what's the difference between Newborn and 0-3 months sizing?!

harrietm87 · 12/01/2018 16:16

@MommaLamb sounds like you've got all the same stuff as me! I got the bee and a maxi cosi car seat at JL and my PILs have kindly bought us the next to me dream as well!

What colour bee did you get?

Re clothes, there are size guides on the shops' websites which explain the weights that each size correlates to (varies by shop). I think the majority
of babies are in newborn at the start. We got some 0-3 babygros in the JL sale and I will get newborn stuff probs from supermarkets in plain white closer to the time when I do my hospital bag.

boatrace30 · 12/01/2018 17:47

Newborn tends to last only up to one month max and if you have a big baby maybe won't fit at all. I'd advice getting a few bits in newborn size and a few bits in 0-3 and don't go crazy as in my experience people go crazy buying you things when the baby is not.

MissYeti · 12/01/2018 18:00

We barely bought anything in newborn, have gone straight for 0-3. People who have bought things for us have bought newborn, one even bough a small baby outfit which I'm dubious will fit at all...its for up to 7.5lbs. I was a 8lbs baby and dp wasn't a small baby either but we shall see I guess!

We have everything now, carseat, pram, cot, the whole tommee tippee prep/ bottle collection...we're pretty much sorted until teddy hits 3 months at least (but we've been proactive and have clothes in 3-6 size too) :) its been fun!

MrsDishavingaB · 12/01/2018 20:35

🙈🙈 feeling very guilty about the mound of stuff that I have for little pickle now 😂

I've bought so much! We've got the pram, sister has given us her cot/Moses basket/baby carrier and bumbo. Other sister has given us a bouncer/sleepyhead and nappy bag. I've got a ton of muslins, a couple of blankets, sleep bags, sheets, towels, bath, variety of bottles, breast pump, steriliser, boppy, stock pile of nappies & wipes and clothes ranging from newborn to 12 months.
I've taken full advantage of the sales! Only things I need are car seat, isofix and toiletries. Possibly also the TT perfect prep.

Had my 28 week growth scan today. Little man is oblique position but slap bang on 50% line for growth 👍🏼 he kicked so hard even the sonographer felt it. I have my anaesthetist appt next week too, that one scares me 😱

MissYeti · 12/01/2018 21:03

mrsD what is oblique position? You sound super prepared!! I have the prep machine, fully expecting it to be a lifesaver for night feeds!

MrsDishavingaB · 12/01/2018 21:25

@MissYeti oblique is just where they're laying across the tummy so he's not face down or bum down lol he's just plain old awkward

I am materially prepared I guess just not mentally haha. I say I have a range of clothes up until 12 months but really that means I have one or two outfits for each age. I have the most stuff for 0-3. The next sale was amazing for that. I got things for like £2 and a snow suit for next year for 50% off! And when I went to Dubai in November I made the most of going to stores they don't have here like Carters (adorable clothes) and Pottery Barn Kids which is where I got the boppy pillow and blankets.

MrsDishavingaB · 12/01/2018 21:27

These were my favourite sale purchases in Mothercare ☺️☺️

mrsD awkward baby!! Those baby grows are adorable!! DP went on a little spending spree so we have at least one outfit up to 18 months I think! Always best to make use of stores you cant get in England, it's always great to have something noone else will have.

MissYeti · 13/01/2018 21:55

Think I just had my first experience of teddy hiccups! Very soft but very rhythmic pushes against my tummy, does that sound right?

rosegarden45 · 13/01/2018 22:40

Breasts.... anyone else having leakage? I notice it more when I'm braless (after showering, in my dressing gown before getting dressed kind of time) and have had it for some time now but today my right nipple has been quite sore and the whole breast feels like it needs to be squeezed. It feels like there is a build up of pressure inside that needs releasing. I'm 26 weeks pregnant and it is my first pregnancy so I'm not sure what is normal

MissYeti · 13/01/2018 22:52

Im leaking too! Started at the end of 24 weeks so I'm guessing its pretty normal 😂😂

Thelostsock · 14/01/2018 08:04

I had one big leak when I went to bed on Christmas Day, but nothing since! I'm sure it'll start up again though. Anyone else suffering with insomnia?

harrietm87 · 14/01/2018 10:03

@Thelostsock yes! Me! I can drop off easily but then have been waking up at 5am every day and not able to get back to sleep! No idea why - it's not even to go to the loo!

I haven't had any leaking yet. Hoping to breastfeed so hope it all works! I'm 28 weeks today - starting to feel very real.

MrsDishavingaB · 14/01/2018 10:30

I'll join the club! Im not necessarily suffering insomnia but im having very broken sleep...waking every couple of hours, tossing and turning a LOT! I don't fall into a deep sleep until about an hour before I need to wake up and it's so frustrating.

I don't have any leaking yet, quite happy for it to take its time too. I've got at least 11 weeks yet until I need it!

Thelostsock · 14/01/2018 11:56

It's so weird isn't it @harrietm87! I'm the same, get to sleep and then awake every few hours for no reason but unable to get back to sleep again. I managed 4 hours last night. It's going to be a looooong few months. And then obviously broken sleep for another 18 years 😆

Whymustyoubringinthebirds · 14/01/2018 17:55

I’m the same as MrsD not so much insomnia but lots of tossing and turning, getting up to pee etc...the joys!

No leaking but my boob looked funny and had like a hard section this morning - weird but all gone now

I’m just home from a few days in London and I have to say I am destroyed really didn’t think I would struggle as much but all the walking really has done a number on me! Very glad to get back and in a bath this evening

Ah birds that must be a lovely feeling to come home and just put your feet up. I'm definitely feeling everything is becoming more of a struggle now.

This afternoon we painted the nursery, we've only just finished and I am absolutely knackered. I did the rollering whilst DH did the cutting in (he didn't want me standing on the step ladder) but now I've discovered DH can't cut in for shit and doesn't have the patience to do it properly so I wish we'd done it the other way 🙈....paint is meant to go on the ceiling right? Hehe

MrsDishavingaB · 14/01/2018 19:01

Here's a piccy of half way through...it's a teeny room so hoping the paint isn't too dark.

It's the colour Goose Down by Dulux if anyone wanted to know!!

TrigsToo · 14/01/2018 21:35

Looks really good @MrsDishavingaB

No leakages here, in fact slightly concerned that I'm still wearing the same size bra etc. And insomnia hasn't been too bad (I've definitely had it worse in the past). I do wake up regularly to shift positions, but I get back to sleep again pretty quick. Main problem is that my sleep feels quite shallow so I'm still tired a lot.

olicat · 14/01/2018 21:50

MrsD that's a nice weekend activity!

Trigs my boobs have barely grown either, I just have brown nips now 😂 really hoping to breastfeed so hope the non growing is ok!

Sunshinesaz86 · 15/01/2018 08:13

Sorry I've been awol ladies. Had a crazy few weeks over xmas and new year!

Room looks good mrs and cute outfits.

Over the weekend I've been diagnosed with obstetric cholestatis after a bout of severe itching. It's basically an issue with my liver and bile acids.
I've been told I'll most likely be induced at 37 weeks (so will now be having a mid March baby)
This is all after being admitted with pains and tightenings where they gave me steroids incase it was early labour!
Luckily that's all calmed down so hoping baby sits tight for as long as possible.

Has anyone any experience with Cholestatis? Apparently it's 1/2 in 1000 women get it!

I'm now on medication/weekly bloods and monitoring need a liver scan/growth scan and will be high risk!

I had such a good first pregnancy this one has been total opposite 😩😩!! Sorry for the self absorbed post just not many people to discuss it with.

boatrace30 · 15/01/2018 12:43

Sorry to hear that sunshine - can't say I have any experience but sending sympathy Flowers

MrsDishavingaB · 16/01/2018 08:32

Oh god @Sunshinesaz86 you poor thing!! I actually read up about that when we were all complaining about having itchy skin.

Hopefully it's not too bad for you now that things have settled down a bit and the constant monitoring can only be a good thing to keep your mind at somewhat of an ease.

Sending big hugs Thanks you can always have a rant on here - that's what we're here for! Xx

TrigsToo · 16/01/2018 10:10

Hey guys,

I think maybe I need talking down from a ledge!

At what point re. movement do you start getting worried?

Eddie had super active days on Thursday and Friday and was kicking like crazy with with the kicks placed in such a way that my other half could feel them. On Saturday he was fairly active and then less so on Sunday. This isn't too unusual as he has no set patterns yet.

On Sunday and yesterday, I noticed he seemed to be sitting in a different position so when he did kick they felt very small and were aimed more at my hips/internal rather than my stomach - OH would not be able to feel them.

Today I've barely felt him and when I have it's been more like the flutters I felt from about 15 wks. I'm guessing this is stretching/rolling rather than kicking.

Maybe he's just having a few sleepy days, but he's not been this quiet for this long for ages. Should I worry? I've got a physio appointment at the hospital this afternoon. If he hasn't started kicking by the time I'm done, do you think I should swing by the obstetrics department?
