Morning ladies and Happy Christmas!!

I got my BFP on Monday 18th Dec. AF was already over a week late but I had 3 negative tests. Then about 1am on my night shift the nausea kicked in with quite some vigour so I bought a test on the way home and the rest is history!!
It’s no. 2 for me, DD will be 6 in February so I’m feeling a bit out of practice 😂 I’m sure the nausea wasn’t this bad last time though 🤢 xx

milney25 · 24/12/2017 07:53

Hi @Lisalou88 welcome! Congratulations!!

We are the same EDD! I've told my parents but not my DH's. I'm hosting Christmas and have an array of non alcoholic beverages to fool people with.

So glad you heard your heartbeat, I had a scan at 7weeks5.

CumbrianExile · 24/12/2017 08:41

Welcome to all the newbies Flowers

DS 3 has suddenly become really clingy to me. Always wanting to sit on my knee and cuddle in. He always was a bit of a Mammys boy, but not to this extent. I think he knows something is different, and trying to impose the fact that he is here Grin Has this happened to anyone else?

Hettyturnip · 24/12/2017 08:46

Hi Cumbrian, my dd has been just the same this week. She’s been in bed with me every morning and only wants me for everything. She’s 4, how old is your boy?

TheGrumpySquirrel · 24/12/2017 08:53

Telling my ILs today and my family tomorrow. I hope they'll still be excited for us even though the last one ended in MC.

CumbrianExile · 24/12/2017 08:54

Hetty he is 3. I'm glad it's not just me. As if I am not exhausted enough Grin

peterpanwendy · 24/12/2017 08:55

@Gizzymum I'm the same, I've told the good news to the people I would also share the bad news with if something happened.

Babydreaming · 24/12/2017 08:56

Welcoming me newbies!! Nice to have more activity on the thread :) I like that some of us are just discovering around 4 weeks whereas some are 8 weeks gone already! I’m in the middle. 4 to 8 weeks seems like such a big difference at this stage doesn’t it?

I told my parents yesterday...I don’t really know if they were happy for us or not! My mum said ohhh I thought you wanted to wait til your 12 month old was a bit older? She was saying how difficult it was going to be! I already know that!! I think it’s different with 2nd baby?! First time round she was so happy that she cried!!

TheSleeperandTheSpindle · 24/12/2017 09:02

Being pregnant with the 2nd is certainly different to being pregnant with the first! No resting or napping during the day, although being so distracted is quite useful when feeling so sick Grin

Told my parents yesterday as I just couldn’t see my DM with spilling the news and telling ILS today. I’m of the same opinion, I would tell them all if something went wrong anyway.

E2017 · 24/12/2017 09:11

Welcome to those who have just joined. Update on the seabands, they are def helping. Have still felt nauseous all morning but only been sick 4 times which is a vast improvement on the last few days. 🤢

BertieBotts · 24/12/2017 11:02

YY to 4-8 weeks seeming like a big difference! I was almost tempted to check for a September thread because with DS I was due end of Sept and ended up in one September group and one October one and I quite liked being one of the first rather than one of the last Grin but actually this group is lovely so I think I'll stick around here - my due date isn't quite set yet anyway and I don't think you're as likely to go over with second babies so who knows.

I am 5 weeks today :) I am sure I was spotting by this point with previous pregnancies so fingers crossed touching ALL the wood this is a good sign! Just 5 days until my appointment! Doesn't feel real still.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 24/12/2017 11:23

Yay Bertie! I'm 5+1. Must wait till 6 weeks for next digital!! Then I have my booking in at 8 weeks (13 January), will try to get an early scan the day before that.

SpriteGirl · 24/12/2017 13:17

Congratulations to all newcomers.

@E2017 glad you're getting some relief with the bands although four times already still seems a pretty rough deal.

Wanted to wish you all a very merry and healthy Christmas. Hope everyone manages to feel relatively ok and anyone who's working hope it goes quickly and smoothly for you. xx

E2017 · 24/12/2017 14:09

Thanks @SpriteGirl four x three now and work is dragging... definitely not my best day ever lol. Fingers crossed today will be a better day on both counts lol.

Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas. X

Hortonlovesahoo · 24/12/2017 15:37

According to my app, I’m 6 weeks but I’ll find out an exact date at my scan in a few weeks. I always tend to be a little out

Hortonlovesahoo · 24/12/2017 15:37

Darn enter button!

Just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas!

peterpanwendy · 24/12/2017 16:36

Decided on a dress for tonight's party so that I can eat without my belly feeling like the hulk and bursting out of my clothes! anyone else? 😅 I have 0 hump obviously at only 7+1 but I'm sooo bloated even if I have a tiny nibble!

CaffeineDragon · 24/12/2017 16:39

I can highly recommend rubber bands, hair bands and you can buy some trouser specific ones made for this occasion. 2nd LO means no tummy muscles! Blush

Also, these are amazing to keep you in your current jeans/trousers longer: Maternity Belly Band - Pregnancy Bump Band - Made in UK https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00LMDMGZG/ref=cmswwrcppapi_rF9pAbD21VT5H Had two last time but them away to pregnant friends so need to buy again!

DuchessofStBridget · 24/12/2017 18:03

We've timed this pretty badly, haven't we? Nausea over Christmas, and heavily pregnant in the height of summer. Grin

BertieBotts · 24/12/2017 18:05

Yep Grin Bring it on!

YouCantBeSirius · 24/12/2017 18:23

Oh god, I'm a redhead and really struggle in the summer. Even here in Scotland. I'm going to look like an angry, red, sweaty whale

Hana327 · 24/12/2017 18:56

@DuchessofStBridget I've been thinking the exact same thing especially about Christmas and being ill for it!
Welcome to all the newbies!

I've gone out to. It sea bands today as im feeling or being constantly sick 😷

Getting very nervous at telling my parents tomorrow! First child/grandchild and have no idea how they will react!

Finally. I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. It's a pleasure going through these experiences with you all!

TheSleeperandTheSpindle · 24/12/2017 19:00

Told ILS today and they were so happy. They said it was the best Christmas present ever Grin

Merry Christmas to you all 🎄🎅🏻

CumbrianExile · 24/12/2017 19:16

DH told the PIL the other day and they were delighted. DMIL was gutted she couldn't tell anyone yet, but I know she won't. She didn't with DS.

Probably going to tell my parents tomorrow.

Hope you all have a Merry Christmas, and a fab, non sickly day tomorrow! Xmas Smile

StrawberryLemonade · 24/12/2017 19:21

Duchess I’m thinking the same about the timing I was saying that to DH earlier. Oh well! Ive managed to survive the day with 2 meals out. Feel more exhausted than anything. Hoping toddler sleeps better tonight than last night. I also took an anti sickness tablet which I think has made me more tired.
I’ve finished the present wrapping so all ready now. Would usually be carol singing this evening but I’ve given my apologies as not feeling up to it.
