Wow, thanks Bertie! That does make me feel a lot better. Plus the fact that my boobs are suddenly super sore today!

pestov · 23/12/2017 14:29

So I've just had a letter from my hospital with a booking appointment date: 11th February! I'll be 12+2 Hmm. Suppose I shouldn't be surprised given that last time round I had my booking appointment the day after my 12w scan as they'd lost my GP referral

TheMildManneredMilitant · 23/12/2017 14:43

Afternoon all. Sorry I've hardly posted but have been following everyone. So sad to hear about the losses, I've been there and it's really tough.

I'm about 8 weeks now and feel like everything has just kicked in. My tummy is ridiculous, already look 4 months gone but then it is dc3 and I've probably got no muscle tone whatsoever. Have booked an early scan for weds, keep trying to not get my hopes up in case it's bad news but then before I know it i'm daydreaming about baby names and tiny cuddles.

Good luck everyone trying to battle through Christmas with sickness.

milney25 · 23/12/2017 14:52

Hi @TheMildManneredMilitant I'm about 8 weeks too Smile. Let us know how your scan goes on Wednesday. I've got my booking in appointment on Thursday.

Hana327 · 23/12/2017 18:11

Got my letter today and I have a scan on 29th Jan. I will be 12 weeks exactly or I hope I will be!
@E2017 that sounds horrible! Let me know if the seabands get better at working as I may try them! I can eat at night but the day time is not so easy! Getting progressively more sick by the day!

E2017 · 23/12/2017 18:12

Has anyone else had morning sickness that has literally lasted all day and is actual sickness as well as nausea all day. Feeling utterly miserable and the seabands don't seem to be working the miracle I was hoping for. 🤢

E2017 · 23/12/2017 18:26

Snap on scan date @Hana327 I've got '7' week scan on 27th (due to ivf). Then got 12 week scan on 29th. X

Babydreaming · 23/12/2017 18:47

@E2017 I find that keeping busy really helps with the nausea! I get it worse when I’m sitting at home relaxed not doing anything. Also I find eating constantly helps!! Not ideal though. My go to are crisps which seem to do the trick!

SmashyCup · 23/12/2017 19:06

@E2017 I had that in my last pregnancy but it only lasted a few weeks. Hopefully you'll feel better soon.

Hortonlovesahoo · 23/12/2017 19:40

@E2017 - I can recommend peppermint and licorice tea. That helped me with my last pregnancy.

somersetsinger · 23/12/2017 20:01

E2017, I had bad sickness last pregnancy and the doctor was happy to prescribe some anti nausea medicine. If you feel that you need help, especially as 'morning' sickness can last for quite a few more weeks, then do ask.

I realise that given the bank holidays ahead, this is probably the worst time to suggest speaking to a doctor and trying to get a prescription. In fact, I am quietly bricking it that the evil sickness I had last time will kick in over the holidays and I won't cope.

peterpanwendy · 23/12/2017 20:46

Told my in laws!! They were over the moon! I can breathe now 😅

Hortonlovesahoo · 23/12/2017 21:11

@Peterpanwendy - That's great!! :) So glad they were positive. We're still trying to decide when to tell people.

Anyone else look 4 months pregnant in the evening from the lovely stomach bloat?

BertieBotts · 23/12/2017 21:20

Oh yes I have a huge belly! Luckily I suppose that's fairly easy to pass off this time of year Grin

SmashyCup · 23/12/2017 21:24

Yep, all the bloating! Xmas Grin

CumbrianExile · 23/12/2017 21:38

E2017 if you can get hold of some, I recommend Kendal Mint Cake (they sell it in outdoorsy shops). it's really helped me.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 23/12/2017 21:54

I have no bloating, but am constipated (yay) so no doubt I will be bloated soon! Boobs suddenly turned sore today and I cannot lie on them. Happened at 5 weeks last time too. Now a few more days for the bone crushing tiredness and nausea to kick in!

BertieBotts · 23/12/2017 22:02

TBH I am not constipated but I am a bit afraid to poo Blush

I am glad I'm at home and have unlimited nap time!

Hana327 · 23/12/2017 22:46

@E2017 I was sick at lunchtime today and was heaving just before we went out for tea tonight at about 5:30. We didn't eat for two hours after that thought. I find if I go out and eat with people the more distracted I am the better I eat! Strange I know! But I find it heard to eat throughout the whole day.
Haha snap on scan dates too! Lol. Good luck with your earlier scan! Let us know how you get on!

peterpanwendy · 23/12/2017 23:25

I am so bloated I too look 4 months gone. None of my jeans fit me once I've eaten I have to undo the buttons how embarrassing! I am also so exhausted all day everyone is going to definitely guess over Christmas :'(

StrawberryLemonade · 24/12/2017 02:48

I’m also bloated, exhausted and nauseous. How glamorous! Not sure how that’ll work out today with visiting relatives all day and 2 festive meals. Hopefully no one will notice if I don’t eat much.
Tbh if anyone asked if I was pregnant I wouldn’t lie, I think they’ll all be too polite to ask though even if they suspect!
Hoping toddler goes back to sleep soon as being up in the middle of the night isn’t doing the nausea any favours.

Hortonlovesahoo · 24/12/2017 06:00

Best advice i had for nausea was to eat something little and often. I found if I leave it over 4 hours then I’ll be very nauseous

Crissy83 · 24/12/2017 06:09

Hello everyone, I've finally plucked up the courage to join if Ok!

Firstly congrats to everyone for their BFPs and sorry to those of of you who have suffered losses. Thanks

We've been TTC for three years and got our BFP confirmed a couple of weeks ago - it still doesn't seem real. To add some excitement to the mix, I handed in my resignation at work two weeks before we found out, so it's going to be an interesting ride!

EDD is 14th August for our DC1. No sickness yet for me, but all the other good stuff including insomnia, achy boobs, back ache...!

We're thinking of telling the parents tonight as I'm generally partial to a glass of vino (or 5!) - so my sobriety will not go unquestioned and think some happy Christmas Eve news will be lovely.

In honesty I'm a bit nervous it's still too early but DH is so excited (and incapable of keeping a secret!) so I think that's the plan.

Look forward to hearing everyone's news over the coming weeks and months xxxx

Lisalou88 · 24/12/2017 06:18

Hi everyone, thought I would join in if that’s ok?

I am currently 8+3 with out first child, we had been ttc since last december and we had just been referred to the fertility clinic when I found out I was pregnant. Think my EDD is around 2nd August.

We had a private early scan on Thursday night when I was 8 weeks as we wanted to make sure all was ok before telling our family on Christmas Day and we saw a little heartbeat so that was such a relief. I was really anxious as I have had no sickness and thought that meant something was wrong but I must just be lucky. Really feel for you ladies who are suffering horrendous sickness. I just feel drained of energy constantly and struggling find the motivation to do anything as I’m just so tired.

I don’t have my booking in appointment till the 16th jan when I will be 11+5 and the midwife told me i will be referred for my scan at that appointment so I think I will prob be 13 weeks by the time I get a scan.

Still all feels very surreal and I’m trying to not get myself too excited as I’m still worried something will go wrong but must keep thinking positive thoughts xx

Gizzymum · 24/12/2017 07:39

Congratulations to all the new joiners. I told my parents and the in laws at 4/5weeks for my first DC and for this pregnancy. I figured that if something went wrong I'd tell them and need their support, so I may as well tell them the good news first.

With my first we'd been ttc for a year and had just got an infertility appointment when we conceived. This time was a bit quicker than we expected (3mths of trying).
