Got my bfp 2 hours ago
Still can't sleep lol

Got it a week early af was due 30th

Anyone else??

Alsooooo been feeling very sick and now have lots of heart burn

@Whichoneisit I had an abdominal scan. I needed a wee so badly and her pressing down did not help lol.

@SpriteGirl so glad they helped! I wear two most days!

@milney25 @Emmasmum2013 I'm spotting and have had some cramps. Still nauseous but woke up with boobs hurting a lot less so I'm pretty concerned. I'm in the US for the holidays and I called a private scan place and they said a scan had to be transvaginal (internal) and I had to be under a doctors care. Obviously that would cost me a small fortune to check for a heartbeat. I don't think that's the case in the uk, certainly wasn't for my last one!

I guess I just have to wait it out and see - it's so stressful.

Fingers crossed Caffeine, I do think cramping can be normal and it's vv usual for symptoms to come and go so try not to worry! Unfortunately even if you were going to miscarry there's nothing they can do at this stage so best thing to do is sit tight and try to be zen about it - the biggest risk is ectopic but it's unlikely. Will you be there over all of Christmas and new year?

When I had cramping last time the gynecologist gave me some Magnesium to take as this eases cramping and helps muscles relax - might be worth it just to feel like you're doing something?

@caffeienedragon I've had spotting since I got BFP at 4 weeks. It got worse weeks 5-7 and it has settled now, I just get it in the morning. I was (am!) also freaking about symptoms coming and going. Some days I don't feel sick at all. I've also had cramping throughout. I had endometriosis and polyps surgery about 10 weeks ago and so I am hoping its that. How much have you had?

I went in for an early scan at the EPU at 6 weeks and there was no heartbeat yet. I went back at 8 weeks and there was a good heartbeat.

I know you can't relax, it's almost impossible. But when you get back you can pay for an early scan if you want to put your mind at ease.

@spydie I would definitely have to take my 1 year old to the scans with me! I have no childcare. I’m going to say I’m thinking about a homebirth though as then you get your appointments in your own house here!

I've not really got much in the way of cramps. I don't really see the point of paying for scans this early if there'll be nothing to see. I'll just have to cross everything and hope! I'll definitely mention it to the midwife.
I remember with my last one I had a bit of breakthrough bleeding at around 5 weeks. I went to the Drs who referred me to the early pregnancy unit, they did a scan and couldn't see a thing so took some bloods and said to come back the next week to scan again and poss more bloods to see if the hCG levels were increasing if they still couldn't see anything. Next scan had a visible egg sac so I didn't have to have any more bloods. 3rd scan, could see that it had grown. Was booked in again for another scan another week later and could see a heartbeat then! So I'm not too worried and I know that if I'm scanned this early and there's nothing I'll probably worry even more.

Went back to my new surgery today to finish registering and she gave me the number for the birthing centre and said I'd be quicker to just refer myself. My booking in appt is 4th Jan I will be around 8+5. So excited! Hopefully I'll get my scan appt that day.

@birdy1978 @milney25 @SpriteGirl @Emmasmum2013 Here until the 2nd Jan and then at home with my toddler on the 3rd and back to work on 6th. It's just been spotting thankfully. Pink and brown which is promising. Some lower back and cramp like pains but none so far today. Will just try to stay zen but also stop telling anyone new I think.

I’m hoping to plan all appointments during school hours so I don’t have to take the kids along. I think DH will miss a few because he works away from home a few nights a week.
Promised the kids a lovely Christmassy day out today. Didn’t feel too bad until we got home. Now really struggling and looking forward to getting into bed! It’s been 8 years since my last DC so I’d forgotten how difficult these early weeks are.
Still having some back pain but doesn’t seem consistent.

@peterpanwendy my appointment is on the 3rd :-) glad you've got one sorted - we'll be able to compare notes hehe! X

@amzq87 ooh yes! I'm so excited! Is it just questions or do they take blood etc?

Anyone else struggling to sleep? I feel exhausted every day (have done since around start of week 5) but when I'm in bed I'm tossing and turning and not able to get a decent nights sleep which makes me more tired in the morning 🙈

@peterpanwendy I'm a first timer so not sure about it all however, I used to work in a pathology lab processing blood samples. I know they do booking bloods in my area (I think this is a countrywide thing though?) where they do a family origin questionnaire and take samples to assess immunities and any risk for blood diseases like sickle cell anaemia. As far as I was aware this was done at your first appointment - I could be wrong for other areas though x

@amzq87 ooh ok! I'm fine with blood taking but I'm so scared of injections which I know I'm going to have to get over! I'm a first timer too :) how many wks are you?

@peterpanwendy I'm 8 weeks on Sunday so I should be 9+3 all being well for my appointment x

Hi all! Well the Morning Sickness has arrived. Got up early to go out and do the Christmas food shopping just about to go out the door and then...sick! Can't eat much every smell, thought about food and trying to eat makes me gag! ☹️🤢 I suppose it's a healthy sign the hormones are doing their thing!

@peterpanwendy I literally just came on here to complain about sleep! Think I’m developing the worst pregnancy insomnia. I struggled to fall asleep last night and then my baby woke me at 1am and I couldn’t get back to sleep for what’s felt like hours!! I think I only had a few hours of broken sleep! I know I’m going to be like a zombie today which is a shame as seeing my parents. I was tossing and turning all night and felt hungry and sick at the same time. Hoping it’s just a passing phase as i know some women suffer from insomnia throughout pregnancy :(

I keep waking throughout the night too. Find it so hard to just go back to sleep (which I never normally have a problem with) my DH is so poorly atm. He hasn't eaten since Wednesday morning, I think he's either got norovirus or the flu. I feel so helpless and I'm being so careful not to catch it from him.
