Sorry to hear nk Thanks

Does anyone else's nausea come and go? I felt great all morning, just ate lunch and now it's back with purpose! I don't remember it being this bad (and this early) with DS.

Sparklesdontshine · 19/12/2017 13:15

Mine seems worse in the evening, but I started anti sickness meds as soon as I found out I was pregnant this time, so I'm not sure how much they are affecting it

StrawberryLemonade · 19/12/2017 13:28

CumbrianExile my nausea was awful yesterday but it's a little better today. I also don't remember it starting this early with my first pregnancy.

Babydreaming · 19/12/2017 13:59

@cumbrianexile mine definitely fluctuates! It tends to be worse just before and after meals!

I’ve got another cold! Only got rid of the last one a week ago :(

babyH3O · 19/12/2017 14:42

@CumbrianExile Mine fluctuates also... I'm now wearing sickness bands on each wrist which are really helping.

@nk1605 I'm really sorry to hear your news. It doesn't matter how early it is, it's natural to grieve. Take care of yourself. X

Eloisa123 · 19/12/2017 14:42

Anyone know which is the safest antihistamines for use at our stage?
I'm getting a call back from the GP tomorrow about it but wondered if anyone else had advice from their docs. Thanks!

Sugarskulllover · 19/12/2017 15:13

My nausea comes all throughout the day. I have to gag sometimes but FX no actual sickness yet. Also peeing all the time!

I had my booking in appointment with the midwife today and she is so lovely!

She is also my SIL midwife which is nice as my SIL raved about her throughout her last pregnancy.

Me and DH DTD last night and I had the slightest but of brown when I went to the toilet after (sorry TMI) and so she is sending me for a scan on Friday and I'll be 7+2 so FX all goes well and I will have a scan photo to show our families when we tell them over Christmas.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

CaffeineDragon · 19/12/2017 17:19

So sorry @nk1605.

Def more nauseous this time around. So hard to hide. Amazingly for our 17 hr journey yesterday it seemed to go away for a
bit of it, to the extent I was starting to worry! - and thankfully my toddler was amazing on the 10.5hr leg (all of it really!) But it's back now, with a migraine Confused

Been nice telling my family etc but worried I'm going to jinx it - knowing that is silly but still. Will feel weird hiding from work until Feb, but needs must.

Not going to get an early scan this time, but will do an early private gender scan at 16wks. Had somehow forgot about all the initial blood tests and DS test. I'm classified as a geriatric mother this time so not sure what that means wrt additional tests/scans etc (if any).

WeAllShine · 19/12/2017 18:45

HI everyone, things have a been a bit busy here so not had time to post and just caught up with the thread.
Sorry to read your news nk it’s a hard loss to bear no matter far you are x

I had my first scan today, there is a sac, embryo and a faint heart beat which doc says is right for this stage. I’m probably only just 6 weeks so a few days less than I thought because of slightly longer cycles. Will be telling my parents when we go home for Xmas on Saturday and then inlaws when we get back. I’ll have another scan in two weeks when he should be able to date me properly. Quite relieved now and just hoping I can get away with fake drinking at my work Xmas party tomorrow night!

ZoeRoma · 19/12/2017 18:48

@CaffeineDragon 1st time geriatric mum here! Blush

Sparklesdontshine · 19/12/2017 19:32

I'm a geriatric mum too Grin

StrawberryLemonade · 19/12/2017 20:06

How old do youhsve to be to be classified as geriatric?
After a long day at work I'm feeling sick again. Think I need to force down some food.
The midwife phoned me earlier to arrange booking appointment but it isn't until I'll be over 10 weeks! Which is fine but I thought it would be earlier. Makes an early scan all the more tempting.

CumbrianExile · 19/12/2017 20:08

Another geriatric Mum here too Smile

Also have my works xmas do tomorrow, and I am normally quite a big drinker at these things. Have decided to drink 'Vodka' and lemonade, but not sure whether I will get away with it. My boss was talking about buying us all black sambuca, so not sure how I will hide not drinking that! Can't even pretend not to like it as I mentioned drinking it on facebook on Friday (before I got my bfp on Sunday!)

amzq87 · 19/12/2017 20:11

I'm struggling with sickness too @StrawberryLemonade - I find eating little and often helps but pretty much feeling constantly nauseous at the mo.

I'll be 31 when I'm due - does this make me a geriatric first timer?

Also, does anyone know what I can do for indigestion? I went to the pharmacy at work today (I work in a hospital) and they said I need to go to the doctors but they can't see me this week. Should I ring the midwife? Sorry - first timer questions probably! Xx

amzq87 · 19/12/2017 20:12

@CumbrianExile I pulled the non-alcoholic cocktails trick for my Christmas do and no one noticed :-)

StrawberryLemonade · 19/12/2017 20:14

@amzq87 anything like rennie or gaviscon etc is fine Smile

BertieBotts · 19/12/2017 20:41

Hi can I cautiously join?

4+1 here, got BFP this morning. I think I've known for a few days but kept trying to convince myself I was wrong. We've been trying for a long time - since Easter 2016. We had two early miscarriages in 2016 and this year nothing at all until now. We do have an elevated risk of miscarriage hence caution but I think I'm alright to be on the thread as I'm just in that stage of obsessing and trying to read everything I can at the mo.

Due date is somewhere late August but I'd rather not think about specifics just yet. My first milestone is to get to 6 weeks (NYD) and then I can relax a bit more.

We live in Germany so maternity care is a bit different to how it is in the UK but I'm feeling alright with that (at least the initial bit!) having been through it twice already. Always had excellent experiences in hospital here so I hope it'll be fine.

I have a 9yo from a previous relationship so he will be chuffed to be a big brother if we get any further with this one! Will probably tell him around 8 weeks ish when we tell family and close friends and then hold off on telling people more generally until 12 weeks.

We are also due to move house in Jan/Feb! Shock Who knows how we will manage that?? But at least we'll have more space in the new place.

CumbrianExile · 19/12/2017 20:49

amzq non alcoholic cocktails are a great idea!

Welcome Bertie Thanks

TinoTheArtisticMouse · 19/12/2017 20:51

amzq87 do you have an online prescription request at your dr? We do, and in my first pregnancy I just filled on the comment field up day i was pregnant and had indigestion and could they do me a prescription for gaviscon. They gave me a huge bottle. I had previously been in to boots and they refused to sell it to me as I was obviously pregnant - said they aren't allowed to sell anything that says seek dr advice if pregnant.
