Thanks @amzq87 I’m in a bit of shock!

ZoeRoma · 17/12/2017 19:51

Hi everyone! I got my BFP on Thursday and 2-3 on CB digital on Friday! Due date August 25th according to the Ovia app. Haven't done anything about it yet except started taking a pregnancy multi-vitamin (and cut out alcohol of course).

TheGrumpySquirrel · 17/12/2017 19:56

Hi @ZoeRoma I'm also due August 25th! Got my 2-3 on digital on Saturday 😬

StrawberryLemonade · 17/12/2017 19:57

Hi Horton and Zoe and congratulations!
amzq I don't have any specific advice but feel similar about telling my friend who is undergoing fertility treatment. So interested to see if others have any advice.

ZoeRoma · 17/12/2017 19:58

Thanks, StrawberryLemonade! Feels unreal. I didn't think it was going to happen!

ZoeRoma · 17/12/2017 19:59

@TheGrumpySquirrel Congratulations! This will be our first, how about you?

TheGrumpySquirrel · 17/12/2017 20:04

I have a 12 year old dd from a previous relationship, and I married now DH last year after 6yrs together. I got pregnant in March but sadly miscarried at 10wks, hoping for better luck this time. 🤞🏼

pestov · 17/12/2017 20:10

Hi everyone, ready to join the club! Am shocked to be expecting #2 on 24th August as this was our first month trying. DD will be 2 and a half. DH is just praying it's not twins!

MrsS1984 · 17/12/2017 20:20

Welcome to all those with the recent BFP!!! Such exciting times.

I'm wondering if anyone can help with a query. I'm 6+1 and thinking of going for an early scan this week but will they be able to pick anything up at this stage or should I hang on until after Xmas?

MOB247 · 17/12/2017 20:23

Hi - can I join?

So shocked and surprised to find out that I am pregnant again! EDD 15th August!

Struggling to keep the news from my eldest son as I am being sick already! It normally lasts throughout the whole 9 months!

As this will be my last pregnancy am trying to really enjoy it - but it's so hard when you feel rubbish!

Hana327 · 17/12/2017 20:35

Hello to all the newbies and congratulations

@nk1605 I haven't had any spottingjust the cramps. Dr said cramps are normal but if any are really painful and continuous or lots of bleeding that's the only time to be worried! As I haven't had either I've presumed the mild cramps are pregnancy related!

Hortonlovesahoo · 17/12/2017 20:46

@amzq87: I’ve had something similar and it was telling her face to face but also making sure I respected her wishes if she didn’t want to talk/hear about it. Turns out she was ecstatic about it and was just happy that it had happened to me. Talk to your sister about what’s best for her emotions wise?

ZoeRoma · 17/12/2017 21:10

@TheGrumpySquirrel Sorry for your loss, fingers crossed it goes well this time. I had a chemical two months ago.

We're getting married at the end of May! Looks like I'll be waddling down the aisle.

amzq87 · 17/12/2017 21:41

Thanks @Hortonlovesahoo - I think I will just have a word with her sister to sister. I think she will be happy but I won't be upset if it's tinged with some sadness for her - I understand.

Welcome to the group @MOB247 and big congrats!! I'm hoping you can enjoy it too!

amzq87 · 17/12/2017 22:09

@MrsS1984 I've been contemplating the same thing but hear mixed reviews. There isn't much they can see apparently? Would be interested to hear others views on this - I've not gone for one because I was worried it might make me more anxious if they couldn't see anything?

Hope you manage to decide :-) x

TheGrumpySquirrel · 18/12/2017 05:53

Sometimes they can and sometimes they can't, I'm going to try and wait till after 7 weeks for a scan so it'll be more conclusive, although the waiting is so hard.

Zoe congratulations on the upcoming wedding! I think pregnant brides are lovely.

Babydreaming · 18/12/2017 06:37

Welcome newbies! Congratulations.

Zoe I was pregnant with my 1st on my wedding day! Only about 20 weeks but I loved the day and it was so special to share it with my mini bump! I just wish I hadn’t bought the dress before I got pregnant haha!! I had to have some serious alterations!

@MrsS1984 I’m in the same dilemma! Technically the HB should develop between 5-6 weeks but everything is so tiny on ultrasound at this stage they might not see it. If you can be patient and wait then you increase your chances (each day makes a difference at this stage!). Having said that i am planning a scan on Friday at 6 and half weeks. I’m just preparing myself that I might not see much yet but if I do its a bonus. It’s a risk though!

Babydreaming · 18/12/2017 06:58

We had friends over for dinner last night and I managed to fool them I was drinking with sanisnburys alcohol free sparkling wine! It looked just like their prosecco and they didn’t suspect a thing! Shame it tastes like vomit though!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 18/12/2017 07:03

I'm going for elderflower + soda in a wine glass. Yum!

ZoeRoma · 18/12/2017 07:14

@TheGrumpySquirrel @Babydreaming Thanks, both! Luckily, I haven't bought my wedding dress yet. And neither family will care that I'll be pregnant on the big day.

nk1605 · 18/12/2017 08:18

I honestly feel so down this morning...I don't know what's going on. I've had brown spotting since Saturday. Not much on my pants but I can see it when I wipe. Sometimes it had a pink tinge. Then this morning when I got up there was nothing on my pants and I though phew it's over. But then I wiped and it was more of a very light red mixed in with CM. I keep checking and it's now back to brown and the cramps have eased off. But I'm a nervous wreck. Sorry for the negative post...I just don't know what to think.

CumbrianExile · 18/12/2017 08:18

Hi ladies, can I jump aboard?

Got my bfp yesterday, but was quite faint so retested today and line was much stronger.

This will be dc2. DS is 3, 4 in September so a good age gap I think. Having only been ttc for 2 months so a bit of a surprise!

ZoeRoma · 18/12/2017 08:39

@nk1605 fingers crossed for you x

@CumbrianExile welcome and congratulations!

SpriteGirl · 18/12/2017 09:13

Morning all and congratulations to all new joiners.

@amzq87 I have a similar situation with a friend who has been trying for years and has now had two failed IVF rounds. In that time two of our friends have had babies and now me. I will be telling her separately and before I tell the others. There is really no way of making it better. She will be happy for me I know but undoubtedly it's painful for her.

@MrsS1984 I am 6+3 and we too thought about an early scan before Christmas so we could tell the family without any worries (there will be no hiding the not drinking so I am telling) but from what I read chances are we won't see a heartbeat and so something that was meant to reassure us could just end up stressing us over Christmas and me and my husband both decided that's not a risk we want to take. The other thing I realised was that nothing I do will change the outcome (this is very unlike me I am normally a control freak and need to know everything!) and so we've decided to wait. If I was one week further along I'd probably have had the scan done.

@nk105 hoping everything is ok for you x

Babydreaming · 18/12/2017 09:18

@nk1605 sorry to hear it’s continuing! How many weeks are you? Is it possible to book GP appointment? I know they can’t scan yet but maybe they could do your Bhcg levels and see if rising okay?
