The clear blue weeks indicators aren’t 00% accurate. At 5weeks HCG levels can vary quite a lot and they just use a generic cut off level so that means yours can be less than the cut off but still increasing appropriately for you if that makes sense!

Whichoneisit · 13/12/2017 19:45

subo hope the meds help! I’ve bought gaviscon tablets but I haven’t checked if they’re safe in pregnancy yet so have stuck to the liquid.

babydreaming I know waiting is the sensible thing to do. I’m going to try. If I don’t get 3+ i’ll try to reassure myself with your post.

Am already thinking about climbing into bed. DH works away in the week and the kids go to bed at 8. The downside to early nights is early waking and too much thinking time!

SmashyCup · 13/12/2017 19:52

@Whichoneisit omeprazole is fine in pregnancy. My GP prescribed me tons of it last time, my heartburn was horrendous!

somersetsinger · 13/12/2017 19:56

I've taken cyclizine before, Subo2018. It reduced my morning sickness from constant vomiting to nausea and got me through the first trimester last pregnancy. It really knocked me out when I started to take it and doesn't work for everyone but GPs use it as a first attempt to improve things. I will be phoning the doctor and asking for it again if my morning sickness gets bad.

Sparklesdontshine · 13/12/2017 20:29

I used cyclazine for my last 2, and Will be taking it again providing this pregnancy progresses

Subo2018 · 13/12/2017 20:32

@somersetsinger @Sparklesdontshine thanks very much :). I am hoping it will help quite quickly :).

violetmartini · 13/12/2017 21:04

Hi hope it's ok for me to join, BFP last fri and estimated due date of 17th August. For those of you suffering morning sickness, how many weeks are you? I'm wondering when it will kick in!

Hettyturnip · 13/12/2017 21:42

Evening!
Sorry to hear that some of you are struggling with ms and tiredness, it really is miserable but it should only be bad for a few weeks and it should get better in the second trimester. Also, try to feel positive that such strong symptoms are a really good sign that everything is going well. I was almost wishing for more ms, but maybe I'll try to make the most of it because I'm sure that if everything works out for me it'll hit me soon.

I have been gagging a bit, driving has been interesting - I was really hoping not to vom all over myself on the way to work.

amzq87 · 13/12/2017 22:01

You're right @Hettyturnip - that's what I keep trying to tell myself. I'm a nervous first timer so the wait for that first scan (especially seeing as it will be NEXT YEAR) seems to be forever away!

Do feel quite sorry for myself though - was so faint at work yesterday that I had to sit on the loo floor. Not many people know yet and I work with boys so they're all oblivious.com lol!

Hope everyone else is well :-)

amzq87 · 13/12/2017 22:04

@violetmartini mine kicked in pretty much as soon as I hit the 6 week mark - I'm due at the very beginning of August and so I'm a couple of weeks ahead of you x

Gizzymum · 13/12/2017 22:22

@violetmartini For my first pregnancy I only got mild nausea linked with hunger when I was about 8w. This time I got it before my BFP but even less severe (except for one day where I felt like I had the flu) it's more like extreme hunger pangs despite having eaten recently. Perhaps you're one of the lucky ones who won't get ms at all.

YouCantBeSirius · 13/12/2017 23:16

@violetmartini I'll be 7 weeks tomorrow and sickness has really kicked in.

Subo2018 · 14/12/2017 06:39

I slept in my sea bands last night and woke up not feeling nauseous. What a great feeling. Although I am now wondering if it's the bands or if the babies ok....there is no winning. Definitely say I'm a paranoid first time mummy to be Blush. I have an early scan booked in for next Wednesday and then I'm sure I'll be able to relax slightly (I hope).

Hope you are all doing ok this morning :)

CaffeineDragon · 14/12/2017 06:59

Hope everyone is feeling better this morning. I just forced down a bagel and feel a bit better for it. It's getting the first few bites past my lips to get me started!

Another long night with a non-sleeping toddler and heading off for my work Xmas party - 24 hrs in a European city, partying it up! ZOMG wish me luck! Really want to avoid them knowing until it's all confirmed past 12/14wks!

amzq87 · 14/12/2017 07:15

@CaffeineDragon currently having the same breakfast battle lol!

I did my Christmas party last week and survived by drinking non-alcoholic cocktails. No one managed to figure it out :-) good luck! X

LadesC · 14/12/2017 07:25

Subo we have our scans the same day! Im far too early for sickness yet....not quite 5 weeks....but just had my morning coffee (decaff!) and didnt enjoy it. Remember going right off tea and coffee last preg. Hoping that its a good sign!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 14/12/2017 07:26

Still feeling very normal, here is my 10dpo to 12DPO progression. Been a bit crazy and self referred to local maternity unit already - after my Mmc I think I just have to believe this will work out or I'll go mad.

Subo2018 · 14/12/2017 07:46

@LadesC how exciting! Let me know how yours go :). I should be 6 weeks tomorrow but I have a feeling I will be told in not as far along as I think. Just want to hit 12 weeks as soon as possible :)

LucyDolly · 14/12/2017 07:52

@amzq87 I had my overnight work Xmas do and I did the non alcoholic cocktail trick too :)

LadesC · 14/12/2017 07:53

I think ill be too early as I ovulated day 20 but our epau only takr into account your lmp. Even so...itd be nice to just see a yolk sac.

Babydreaming · 14/12/2017 07:59

It’s an old wives tale but apparently really bad morning sickness means you’re having a girl! (Clearly not scientific as some have HG with all pregnancies eg Kate Middleton!) I’ve convinced myself this is another boy though as with my 1st boy I had very mild nausea and never vomited and I feel the same this time, maybe even less nausea!

Sugarskulllover · 14/12/2017 08:20

Nausea is killing me at the minute! It's coming in waves all through out the day.
This morning my DH stopped on the way to work to get breakfast and I nearly threw up all over him! Bacon and sausage are not pleasant smells right now lol.
Did my last CB digital yesterday morning and it came up with the 3+. When I did my other one to make sure I was Pregnant it was 1-2 so I'm guessing that's a good sign even though I know they're not 100% accurate!
My MW appt is on Tuesday so hoping all goes well from there on!

Hope everyone else is doing ok Smile

badb · 14/12/2017 12:32

Morning all. I've still got the head-cold of doom. Sorry that some of you are suffering badly with MS. I do feel a bit queasy, but I think that's more from the coughing and the head full of mucous (sorry). I was never really sick on my daughter though. I've had a bit of bloating over the last few days, but that seems to have settled a bit this morning. It's so hard not to get obsessive about symptoms, isn't it? Our scan is on the 8th January, so quite a while to wait. Good luck to all of you who have appointments and scans before Christmas.

I'm starting to feel the dread about work. I recently (in the last six months) kind of got a new position at work - not a new job, just new responsibilities. I've been working on getting a new project off the ground. That project goes 'live' in...September. So that'll be fun for the department. I feel really bad, and I did try to warn my boss that maybe I wasn't the right person for the job, but she wouldn't hear of it. Argh. It's not great timing.

DuchessofStBridget · 14/12/2017 12:36

@Babydreaming I had nausea but no sickness last pregnancy. I had a girl... Grin

I'm starting to feel a bit delicate (5+3 today) but I also have a cold so I don't know if it's a side-effect of that. Not to mention my body has probably gone into shock through lack of caffeine! I'm saving today's coffee for when I start work, and I'm not working until the evening.

SpriteGirl · 14/12/2017 12:46

@Subo2018 according to the internet I am 6 weeks tomorrow too. Also a first time Mummy to be Smile
